What a delightful surprise to see Jon on this video...he certainly is our hero...and as Jon always said if someone else has said it better...Jon became my hero for the battle he fought after his dx of ALS...being able to put a face on ALS in Kona 18 months into his disease and having not raced in 2 yrs,,,except in his mind,,,
Thank you for remembering the Blazeman...

Mary Ann and Bob are great heroes. They embody love, dedication and family spirit. I do a "Blazeman Roll" across the Finish Line of any event I do out of joy and rememberance. While I never met Jon, and I have only met Mary Ann and Bob through Facebook and seeing them on TV, Mary Ann and Bob are two of my heroes.

"I've raced my race a 1000 times", the entire week prior to the race was one of "meditation"... message, his preparation was to know his "diseased body", the what if's, weakness, cramping, stiffness and the ever present (faciculations),"twiching of his muscles" as he said, "Dad, I'm going into a place I've never been before", he always raced,"prepared", not this time, the most important race of his life done "in the play house of his mind", his words...an "alswarriorpoet"...bdad...jon's dad.
