People commenting on things that should have been done. When you are playing timed chess, you don't have forever and a day to think about your moves. If everyone played perfect, then no one would ever lose and everything would be a tie.
cowgomoo444 Well you would need to figure out all possible trees and see the ones that produced more wins but still there are a lot of passive moves and repetitive moves, that's why there are forced draws and the openings keep changing. In the end I don't think there is a best way to play. But there are good responses imo.
***** I think there is a perfect game somewhere. If you have a computer at depth 1000000 (not possible by today's technology, but maybe in the future), it could see what the perfect game is. Then chess would kinda be ruined haha.
That is why some GMs call knights a bit more valued than bishops in blitz. It is harder to calculate opponent's knight moves quickly. Of course, this does not apply to long chess.
Why didn't he Qxb2 when the knight double-attacked the queen and rook? With that move he would defend the rook and at least get a trade and gaining and attacking position against the Black rook on e5
Thx. 4 upload, a spectacular blunder (overseeing the R/Q-forch) - at this level! So everybody playing bad on chess plattforms: turn to the real game, versus humans, and you'll most probably figure out that your performance isn't so bad at all. Give it a try!
I have no idea what is supposed to be so funny. Someone from behind, trying to get a glance at the action? I think this is normal. After all watching the best chess player in the world in a match is a rare occasion.
well black would be up a pawn as he took on b3 and he would build some pressure on the c4 pawn but I think that was the best continuation for white, anyway mamedyarov probably wanted to build an attack but it didn't work
didn't like the white's Rh1-h4 idea, giving up on the e file. Also Nf3 instead of Nd3 was wrong for white as pawns on e4 and f3 is a standard setup for white in this opening. Magnus with simple yet logical moves obtained the advantage even before the blunder of Nb3. Mamedyarov played at 2100 this one.
Look at him standing still, immediately after playing Nf3? . Only his eyes are moving, looking at the clock as a last hope. Trying to keep a "poker face", not to show that he made a blunder. But what good could that be against Carlsen.
after Qb2 Nxa1 Nxe5 dxe5 Qxa1 Rxc4! white's position is immediately collapsing anyway, if white plays Rxc4 then Qxd5+ followed by Qxc4 and if instead of Rxc4 white plays Qxe5 then Rxh4 followed by Qe7 and in either case the a and b pawns can't be stopped...
After Magnus played Nxb3, forking the queen and rook, why cold Mamedyarov not play Qb2? Then after Magnus plays Nxa1, Mamedyarov could have played Nxe5.

Robert Kaszycki no dude obviously carlsen opponent resigned. At 6:18 u see him scratch his head in defeat he blundered a peace there was no way he was gonna win. He was doing well until the end game Carlsen is a machine .

Or would white always win?
cowgomoo444 It would depend on the openings. Nowadays most games end in ties.
I just mean theoretically, with the best possible moves played from both sides, would white win or would it be a draw? I've always wondered.

+Looksik here lol xS
No I think his face was more like he almost forgot to move this knight which was an obvious play
😂
he was hoping that carlsen would not see the fork XD
that's like hoping a bar of gold you left behind in a public place, would not be taken.
i like how he kept cool hoping he wouldn't know what happened lol

hahaha, easy people,Mamedyarov just was drunk....Qf4??,haha...After Qc3 or Qb2 have so much playing further....Ahhhh this vodka!!
Are u stupid? Mamedyarov isnt russian. He from Azerbaijan and his elo 2700+
Mamedyarov reacted just like Kasparov after that mistake.
And why Mamedyarov didnt move his queen to be able to recapture knight a1
WOW missing a Knight fork at his level gives me hope :))).
What the hell was he thinking?

Seems at 6:55, queen b2 was better?
Do these matches ever end in a check mate instead of a handshake?
Yes, occasionally one side gets checkmated over the board, but even then they shake each other's hand
at 6:40 after Nb3 from black, why not Qd1 and Nxa1, then Nxe5.
What's wrong with this line?
well black would be up a pawn as he took on b3 and he would build some pressure on the c4 pawn but I think that was the best continuation for white, anyway mamedyarov probably wanted to build an attack but it didn't work
А кто выиграл в этой партии?
Against any other player Shakhriar wouldn't have made such a mistake, it's physiological thing against Magnus.
😁
The best carlsen
@GeoffreyBernardo yea, that seems to work. Maybe Mamedyarov is having flashbacks of when he was a class C player.
