How come when you carry your yarn you can just snip it off but when you end you have to weave it in 3 times? Won't the 1st way get loose as it only goes through once?
Just use your eyes and follow the diagram in a counter clockwise position and still crochet. The diagram could have also been shown in clock-wise as well and it still wouldn't matter to the right handers.

Because the staring slip knot is a knot already. So it won’t undo and you are cutting the tail end.
