Thanks for your insightful views on Ukraine. You make points that our talking heads in the US have not. I'm from Pittsburgh with a large Slavic population, which includes many Ukrainians. I also lived in Little Ukraine in the East Village of NYC for 9 years. It's an immigration group that's kept its culture and language. I had friends who went to St George Church parochial school with half of the day taught in Ukrainian, and the other half in English. They also still have strong ties in the old country. The one thing that hasn't been discussed is how they vote. Like Cubans, they've had a knee jerk support for Republicans because of the communism of the Soviet Union for many years. I think that this is about to change. They make a bigger voting block than people realize. I can't see them loving trump or the republicans in the House. I suspect that the idiot pollsters (don't get me started) who haven't gotten elections right in at least 7 years aren't looking at this important group of voters. Also, you can be sure that their churches, civic organizations, and football clubs are sending aid, and will continue to do so.
I certainly hope that you are right. We all need to vote blue and not letting our Democracy go by this movement to destroy our Democracy and our civil rights laws and the ability to be a nation of people who are working on freedom from Authoritarianism and the corruption of our government and the environment. Interestingly, Jack Smith has just recently hired on a war crimes attorney from the Hague. It’s someone who he has worked with in the past. My first thought was this is about all of the children who were separated from their parents at the US border. No doubt Trump, who did nothing to stop it, bears some responsibility for this atrocity but maybe there is a tie in with Putin as well.

I can see the UN allowing Russia a voice at the Security table, but they should take away their voting rights until they turn Putin over for trial/sentencing/imprisonment, stop all war, and return the children safely to Ukraine, they need to leverage all that they can to this end. Sadly, I don't know what it would take for world leaders to stand-up and make these serious demands on Russia. Our heartbreak world!

He's not in NATO. He is in the UN. 2 different things. And yes at the very least Russia should be relegated to a lower tier in the UN.

I pray that we are indeed at the 'darkest hour before the dawn' regarding sanity and victory for Ukraine. You touched on so many sore spots, including the cowardice of the U.N. I appreciate so much this talk with us about the horrendous situation both in Ukraine and in Russia. This helped me focus more specifically on how to ask for Light and Love for all concerned.

Interestingly, Jack Smith has just recently hired on a war crimes attorney from the Hague. It’s someone who he has worked with in the past. My first thought was this is about all of the children who were separated from their parents at the US border. No doubt Trump, who did nothing to stop it, bears some responsibility for this atrocity but maybe there is a tie in with Putin as well.

I certainly agree with you concerning the UN!
I can see the UN allowing Russia a voice at the Security table, but they should take away their voting rights until they turn Putin over for trial/sentencing/imprisonment, stop all war, and return the children safely to Ukraine, they need to leverage all that they can to this end. Sadly, I don't know what it would take for world leaders to stand-up and make these serious demands on Russia. Our heartbreak world!

If you haven't seen it yet, the documentary "Winter on Fire" tells you all you need to know about the Ukrainians. They will win this war, hands down. We just need to send prayers and love to shorten the time. 😇 And a lot more ammo wouldn't hurt either!
I heard a newscast where Putin was accusing the west of joining in with Ukraine in the war, and whether or not they are or should join in, it seems whenever Putin accuses someone of something he is setting the groundwork for a like move himself. What do the cards say about possible involvement of Belarus in the fighting?
