    It's too bad that you wouldn't identify your department as there is more than 1 Milton Fire Department in the world!
    Are you in Canada or the USA and if so what State or Province are you in?????

    Man alive, our board of directors would have had a heart attack on this one!
    We are permitted 5 mph over the posted speed limit. If we had an accident, we had an onboard telemetry system that was downloaded every week, and when we made a run, it started the moment the vehicle was started. It's not worth killing yourself or someone else to reduce 30 seconds off your response time.

    Seeing your video for the 1st time. When the helicopter comes in….would there not be a paramedic, flight nurse or someone on board, who would go to the accident site to help/ work with the mts/paramedics and get an on scene handover?

    Driving like that to any scene, let alone to setup an LZ, is unnecessary and dangerous. Not only were you putting your life at risk driving backroads like this, but the publics life was at risk. The speed used and crossing yellow lines, especially in the curves is shameful.
    This type of action wouldn’t even be warranted on an interstate. This is never ok!

    The big question I have is who the hell is all that siren for? There's nobody on the road and the only person who was on the road was making a left turn to get out of the way and you honked at them like an asshole instead of slowing down. God damn He-Man fireman Billy types. WE WOO WE WOO I'm fifeman Billy, here I come I'm Mr save you man, making lots of noise WEE WOO WE WOO WE WOO.
    Part of emergency vehicle operation and control is understanding the siren is as needed, AS NEEDED .
    There were maybe three or four times where the siren was actually needed otherwise you could have just let it not be on, and seeing as you have an electronic q that you were physically manipulating while driving like an asshole, you could have simply only pushed the button when needed to rev up the EQ.

    • @quarrydesigns
      @quarrydesigns 2 года назад +2

      Just for information. Kentucky law (where this incident occurred) requires the continuous use of siren while responding to an emergency scene (KRS 189.940(5)(b))

    • @GTALOVER74
      @GTALOVER74 2 года назад +1

      Another keyboard warrior I see. You do realize that if they are using lights then they need to be using the siren as well right? And you really think it’s ok for that car to turn LEFT when an emergency vehicle is approaching? How dangerous is that! Clearly you have no idea what you’re talking about

    • @rivermcratt3683
      @rivermcratt3683 2 года назад

      @@quarrydesigns yeah you conveniently left out (c) where it says unless the operator feels it would be detrimental to the health of the patient or if the operator simply chooses not to they must come to a complete stop at intersections and wait until completely clear.
      All states have an as-needed provision it's part of driving with due regard. Many times it's completely necessary to not disrupt the public when unnecessary. You're blasting down country roads making all kinds of unnecessary noise and disrupting the Peace of people in their homes.
      Some guy out in the middle of the country sitting on his couch watching TV doesn't even know that an emergency vehicle is going by when there's nobody on the fucking road and he's on his fucking couch.

      @@rivermcratt3683And you conveniently left off the first 5 words of section (c): “The vehicle is an ambulance”. As a responder both paid and volunteer for over 30 years in 3 states I don’t always believe it is necessary to continuously run the siren but as I said just to provide information, Kentucky law as currently written does require it for any emergency response except in the very limited situation outlined in section (c).
