@@stephenchesser4435 only way I can drink their coffee is if it has a shot of espresso in it which costs extra but the only way I can enjoy it. Very rare nowadays that I’ll ever buy a coffee from them as my home brew is much better IMO.

You kinda took offence, and said how U need club bangers and stuff too. But the thing is, no you don’t. You’re not a club banger / showing off type of dude. If you stuck to your niche, and focused on more of your reality, feelings, insights, etc, more people would connect with it cause it’s genuine. You being all braggadocios on tracks doesn’t suit you as a person, and comes off in a way that people can’t connect to as easily. Plus as the genre evolved, it’s not all about showing off like it was 15-20 years ago

Honestly I disagree completely, I think songs like this one and the others you mentioned are some of his worst / most boring, while I'm usually very entertained with the harder "club banger" type stuff like All The People Say or Ya Ya (although I admit the hype in those songs is sometimes more due to the beats than Unk's contributions)

That's the lore nephew energy I'm here for. Watching UNK fail hard is funny but watching him produce some nice stuff like this is really motivating. I remember when we all thought UNK had changed for the best with Friends over enemies but then he released all tons of garbage afterwards. I still have a soft spot for ALAM due to it's qwerky nature and line delivery.

Good one Unk. This song has a real subject to it instead of usual bragging, a nice beat, and the hook is cool. You're slowly progressing. Just keep it at music, screw the other videos. Drop out bangers and the success will come.

You’ve improved a lot man. Haven’t checked out your stuff in over a year and it’s still not quite there, but you have improved substantially.
The issue is people don’t care about talent, they’re trying to feel something. Pop music hits because it speaks to them in some kind of visceral way, as does hip hop, metal, country, etc. genre doesn’t really matter at the end of the day, there’s a market for everything. The issue is you don’t come off as entirely genuine, so people revel in vicariously feeding off your consistent failure to launch. I think it’s mean spirited, sure, but I can’t really blame people for locating easy targets when you’re so indefatigable with this one pursuit. It almost becomes redundant, paradoxically more distant of a goal with the more effort and loyalty you give it.
There will come a day that you don’t feel like you can do this any longer, and to be honest, I think the sooner the better. Don’t ever stop making music if it’s what you truly enjoy, but you must remove the notion that others have to validate it. Make it, listen to it, enjoy it. That’s enough, it sucks but it isn’t always the case that your passion can also be your career. Very, very few of us are so lucky.
