The tightest band in funk history. Nobody could touch this band and James Brown knew what he had. Never missing a beat, and if they did he fined them. When you want to separate the MEN FROM THE boys this is required. LISTEN TO THESE MEN WORK!!!

This band was so tight… They sounded exactly like they do on the record. When you sound, just like a recording, you know you are very, very good.

For the younger generation, The Popcorn was a dance JB invented. The title comes from a old slang word “Mother” meant a phat ass. (JB liked women curvy) and the popcorn was to capitalize on the popular dance craze he created. U combine the two and u have an instant smash hit!

Clyde Stubblefield on drums, Maceo Parker on sax and Bootsy Collins on bass. Arguably the tightest band in the history of music. Ever. These cats don't miss a beat. Respect.

@@gamersideal6315 Great observation, the bass looks like a Vox (Sidewinder?), and fairly sure Bootsy never used one. True relics from that era, those Voxes were. Monster performance from the band, at any rate...

Killer band! These guys worked their asses off. James ran a tight heavily rehearsed ship. Lots of rehearsals for many hrs and of course many gigs on top of that. Prince ran a similar tight ship!😎

James Brown singing about fine *thick* women and if you don't think that's cool you're probably offended. This awesome band by the way is the James Brown Band/James Brown Orchestra they are not the JB's, he didn't name his band the JB's until this band left in late 1969. This is his most influential and important band because they had the most to do with the birth of Funk music. Facts ✌🏽
