Very informative video in simple Hindi. I wish this video is watched by all political parties in power in all states. After Oil, India's largest import is microchips (and electronics with foreign microchips in them). If India manufactures microchips, then the cost of supercomputers will come down and more Indian scientists, professors, graduate and PhD students can research better. Just as India became almost self-sufficient growing food, hope India also becomes self-sufficient manufacturing high tech products, semiconductors, appliances, electronic gadgets, mechanical machinery, cars, planes, bullet trains, medicines etc. Manufacturing Rockets, electronic gadgets, submarines, planes and equipments using IMPORTED microchips/ICs/Semiconductors by foreign companies in India is like growing crops using IMPORTED seeds by foreign farmers on Indian Soil. Still that is better than importing finished electronic goods like smartphones, TVs, computers, Routers (and other Wireless gadgets), car electronics, medical electronics, fighter jets, defense equipment etc. However, let us all pray together and wish India becomes self-sufficient by manufacturing all necessary components required for high-tech gadgets(including computers), appliances, machinery, vehicles (cars, airplanes, ships etc.), medicines etc. all of which could be used not only by common people but also for Indian Defense and manned missions into Space and far off planets. Thus, India must become self-sufficient in the manufacturing of microchips so that India also develops in all high-tech(gadgets, appliances & vehicles) of fourth Industrial Revolution.
While Indians are wallowing in self-pride about their Communication Skills(“English speaking skills”) in Software field (“IT Slave Trade”), Chinese zoomed past into an era of vaccines, bullet trains, Alibabas, Weibos, Xiaomi, Huawei, Comacs, ARJ21s, J-15s, JH-17s, J-31s, DJI Drones, manned Space missions, Beidou GPS systems, Lenovos, Spreadtrums, Didi Chuxing, Le Ecos, SMIC, Robots, Electric Cars, Lens Technologies, Hanergy Holdings, China Mobile, Commercial Properties etc. Do you know which country has the largest bullet train network? I am not against China and I admire the smart & hard-working Chinese people. Every nation that fought with China went and invested in Hi-tech businesses/manufacturing in China (like USA, France, Japan, Taiwan, SK etc.)…Not Chappal/Garment business/IT Gulam business or Amazon/Walmart business like they do with India...For example, in the field of IC/Electronic manufacturing, foreign investments in China is much more than what any nation promised India. Also, I read Chinese government itself is investing more than 100 billion dollars into electronics/semiconductors field to support local and foreign investments. Now China is competing with USA in Artificial Intelligence too…Now, it is up to educated Indians like you to make a few plans with a number of implementable steps (milestones) to reach their vision of becoming self-sufficient and making India self-sufficient.
In 21st Century, the people of a nation are self-sufficient/self-reliant only when they can protect themselves sufficiently. For that to happen, efforts must be made to establish and maintain world-class universities consisting of graduate curriculum in Sciences, Technologies, Engineering, Management, Mathematics, Medical care, Social reforms, History, Political reforms etc. For the money being spent on India’s and Pakistan’s defense budget, can anyone imagine how many world-class universities could be built and/or run in these nations for the next 40 years? As many in a nation as possible must be educated in graduate and post-graduate degrees, with poor getting scholarships to improve their loyalty to that particular nation.
We must all ask which is better for a nation, unemployed uneducated or unemployed educated youth? Unemployed post-graduate youth are the least worry to a nation and majority will ultimately strive to be entrepreneurs, start non-profits, join civil services, armed forces, become politicians, go to foreign countries etc., thus ensuring India will also develop in Fourth Industrial Revolution on par with at least China if not USA.
India being a nation whose population is comparable to China must also make as many technologies as possible indigenous simultaneously/parallel and NOT first foreign company do it and then Indians do it. Therefore manufacturing cost-effective internal components is essential for all Indian owned companies in automobiles, vaccines, medicines, appliances, machinery, renewable energies, electronics, ships, planes etc. to pioneer in Indian market and elsewhere around the world for competing with other multi-national giants and with nations themselves directly.
India must use these situations like Y2K and give training to youth by increasing the number of universities in STEM disciplines and also quality of education at those universities. Right now due to lack of highly educated man-power, foreign countries are being involved in many high-tech projects of trains, cars, smartphones, computers, laptops, gadgets, roads, airports, medicines, social-media, e-commerce etc. India-led & India-owned Development is required for many more jobs in India. Therefore, irrespective of whatever the Governments doing, the intellectuals in India (and all other nations in colored Asia) must strive to quickly nurture as many world-class universities as possible so that their Youth may spend their time, their University fees and expenses in the respective countries. And with the money saved, the best professors may be imported for tenure-track like they do in nations of Europe, Americas, Australias, Singapore, Taiwan, South Korea etc. Right now, every year many students are losing opportunities to receive best possible education due to financial limitations of their families.
With a population comparable to China, India still struggling in high-tech innovations and blaming it on the democracy of India is ridiculous. Ever wonder how such small countries like Taiwan, Korea, Japan or Singapore doing such wonders in technologies and India or Pakistan with their vast populations cannot do the same even with so called literacy and great religions. South Asian Governments only concentrated on basic literacy for so long and have not been paying as much attention to the tertiary studies at Universities of sciences, technologies, engineering, medicine etc. Due to inadequate number of universities with world standards, the number of South Asian startups, innovation and patent filings are way too less compared to East Asia let alone Europe or Nations of European Settlers. According to 2021 US News report of Best Global Universities Rankings, here is how South Asia compares to East Asia with respect to the number of world ranked universities in Sciences, Technologies, Engineering, Mathematics, Medical sciences etc.
    India(59)+Pakistan(13)+BanglaDesh(1)+Sri Lanka(1)+Nepal(0)+Afghanistan(0) = 74
    China(203)+S. Korea(44) + Taiwan(23) + Japan(85) + Thailand(11) + Vietnam(4)= 370
Now who are we kidding saying India is ‘Vishwaguru’ straddled by nations with no regards for democracy? Innovation, Patents and startups appear to be directly proportional to the number of universities with world standard education in Sciences, technologies, engineering, mathematics, medical sciences, management etc. Therefore, we must all make everyone understand what is meant by A KNOWLEDGE-BASED ECONOMY AND ITS IMPLICATIONS ON GLOBALIZATION. Same amount of metals in kitchen utensils gives less profit than a car or a smartphone. The difference is knowledge used to make a car, a micro-chip or a smartphone or other such high-tech product. The same weight of potatoes gives less profit than same weight of a bag of delicious chips. That’s the power of KNOWLEDGE-BASED ECONOMY.
India must utilize these opportunities of chip shortages to accelerate manufacturing of microchips in India. Even if India cannot manufacture all different types of chips for different applications soon at least India must use these situations like Y2K and give training to youth by increasing the number of universities in STEM disciplines in India and also the quality of education at those universities. Politicians and big businesses must note that not all Indians can go to Europe, Americas and Australia to get educated and then gain entrepreneurial spirit and then go back to India to do something high-tech. Also, foreign education is expensive and results in an impression of colonialism in one's mind. Now, the nation’s money is going at creating best work-force for foreign countries to be exploited. Rich Indian youth, well-educated from foreign countries, are feeling indebted to those foreign countries. Right now this entire Make in India appears to be only about FDIs in the country without regards to development of indigenous talent pool by drastically increasing the number of universities in India on par with USA, China, Germany, UK or other developed nations. Due to lack of highly educated man-power, foreign countries are being involved in many high-tech projects of trains, cars, smartphones, computers, laptops, gadgets, roads, airports, medicines, social-media, e-commerce etc. India-led & India-owned Development is required for the success of India in global arena. Therefore, irrespective of whatever the Governments doing, the intellectuals in India (and all other nations in colored Asia) must strive to quickly nurture as many world-class universities as possible so that their Youth may spend their time, their University fees and expenses in the respective countries. For those who can’t pursue studies at Universities, there must be vocational colleges teaching them 21st century job skills so they either provide their services or start their own trades.

In our country, doing Electronics engineering has no relevant jobs other than Technical support associate in any Call center, Sales and Marketing, or Administrative and managerial jobs in a company. But , if a person wants to persue as Technician or Mechanic (Mistry in local language) in Electronics work then there's tremendous jobs through direct contact to clients where the person can negotiate his service charges. The main reason for this is lack of adequate industries and dependence on imports from other countries still now
