J None was a member of VoicePlay until he left a couple of years ago to go into the US Navy, it has been great to see him be able to come back and sing with the group again. To see both Layne and J None play the violin, check out their cover of "Warriors". It's from a while back, so you will also see Earl, their 'high tenor' who left suddenly in 2020 for undisclosed 'personal reasons'. He had been a member from way back, knew Layne and Geoff from middle school onwards, so it was a shock. The kind of 'rule of thumb' is that if VoicePlay shows an instrument or are holding/shaking something in their hands when sounds are heard, it's their way of signaling that they are indicating that those are non-vocal sounds being made. By the way, some see 'Warriors' as part of the 'VoicePlay Apocalyptic Trilogy': They did "Warriors" with what was the VoicePlay band at the time, followed up by 'Dream On' last year. Since both J None and Earl had left and Cesar and Omar Cardona were in the Dream On video, they joked that "they had lost two members to the zombie horde, but found two other guys to join them". And then with '7 Nation Army' it would appear that Omar didn't last long against the horde and they had to recruit Anthony as a member, lol.
J None is singing with the navy. He has 3 years left. Everyone including Voiceplay and J want him back. He sings with him whenever he's on leave. A few cool ones to check out.... In The Hall of The Mountain King. Hide and Seek (Ding Dong). Dragonborn Comes Skyrim. Halo Theme (watch all the way through). Enemy. They also have a bunch of minis/shorts that's awesome. Including their latest.... Peaches. From the new Super Mario Brothers movie. Geoff gives us a cool surprise. Geoff also has his own channel with lots of amazing videos. A few .... Ghost Riders In The Sky. Man of Constant Sorrow. Way Down. Till Then.
J. None is sort of a member on sabbatical as he completes his service in the US Navy. He joins them when he gets leave time. There is a beautiful song they do with J. None called Tennessee Whiskey. They do an awesome job!
When I heard they were doing Nothing Else Matters I wondered how they would do the guitar solo at the end. Boy was I surprised to have Layne break out the violin. Just perfect. They call him Violayne. Not only was he playing, he was still beatboxing as well. Reminds me of when Kevin Olusula from Pentatonix plays the cello and beat boxes at the same time. I just love the great hard rock tenor from Eli. He has the perfect grit. It's always nice to see J None back on leave from the military. They always seem to have the right guest singer for whatever song they do.
The bass is Geoff (Jeff) Castellucci. He also has done a lot of solo pieces, like Monster Mash, 16 tons, and Ghostriders in the sky. They say he has a 5 octave range, but I think it's six going on infinity....The fact that he looks like Fabio's nephew probably won't hurt his career much either.
I have to agree with you on the Octave range part. I feel he has more octaves than 5. I've heard him do pretty close to the whole piano. That's 8 octaves. Dennis at King Family reacts calls him "bass master infinity".
If I'm not mistaken Geoff Castelucci was the one who came up with this arrangement and to tell you the truth it's a masterpiece, he should receive an award!
Theyve thrown everything else at us, why not the violin (literally) 🎻🥰🤩🤯🤗😇🥰 Layne is classically trained in the violinist. Other songs to look into Trapped Billie Eilish in 3 minutes Panic at the Disc in 4 Minutes and Queen in 5 Minutes (this tells a story so recommend in this order) Then there is Warriors, Dream On, Hoisr the Colours, any of the ACA top 10, and Phantom of the Opera (thus one is one of their oldest and contains Tony who left the group and co owns Patty Cake Productions with Layne) Sorry if I duplicated any you have already done😊
At 7:06 on, like my mama always used to tell me: "Better close your mouth before a fly flies in there!" LOL. But to be fair, the sudden appearance of a violin will do that 😀
Yes, Layne was actually playing the violin. They had a vocal version worked out, but Geoff asked him to try playing like this and they decided they liked it better. It's one of two VoicePlay covers in which he has done so (the other being Warriors.) This one is still tied with Hoist the Colours for my favorite of theirs; it doesn't look like you've reacted to that one yet. Here's the link: ruclips.net/video/vO8NEsx9m58/видео.html
Have you seen VoicePlay's Seven Nation Army? It's considered part 3 of their zombie apocalypse saga, following Warriors (Imagine Dragon) and Dream On (Aerosmith) and it is totally amazing!
I can’t find “Creep” by VoicePlay in your playlist. Have you not done it? If not, please do. Anthony sings with them and he is amazing as always. Eli produced it and arranged it and all of that mechanical stuff they do to put a song together. Since this was done several months ago I hope you see this request. Love your reactions!
If you haven't yet, check out Metallica's original version of this song. Great reaction! Edit: You just came out and said that you did. I remember now. You should check out Metallica's Enter Sandman next. The one from their live performance in Moscow in 1991.
Another VoicePlay song to enjoy is their cover of "I Can't Make You Love Me" featuring EJ Cardona. I will warn you, this one is a different style than what you usually see from them. You may want to have a fresh box of kleenex sitting handy.
If you think Geoff sounds amazing with headphones, try him some time on an actual sound system that has a real subwoofer. The cheap violin that they used for a prop in the video, so they could throw it and not have a heart attack, is not the instrument that Layne played for the audio recording. He used a more expensive violin for that.
Whatever happened to the Pentatonix reactions. It’s been over a month since the last one. That’s what I’m here for. I guess I’ll look for other reactors ☹️
Alot of reactors are getting out of doing PTX because they keep getting blocked by them. And it's becoming a big hassle for them. Home Free dropped their record label and went independent like Voiceplay for the same reason. It hurts their music getting out there. Voiceplay loves being independent and doesn't block. They want people to see and enjoy their videos. And they love reactors because they help get their videos out there.
@@ronsbrat525 yeah I will never understand the labels that do that. I thought I heard PTX was looking for a different label. Other reactors find a way around it though.
@@HyggeDk Which most said is a big hassle. Yeah. They do all that work. Spend all that money. Take all that time just to make it difficult for people to watch your clients videos. To me that defeats the purpose. Voiceplay loves reactors because you guys help get their videos out there for people to see. Which in turn brings them to their channel to view other videos. Or put them on their playlists to watch repeatedly. Like I do. Through the reactors I've heard a lot of artists and songs I've never heard before. Including Geoff Castellucci. I found Voiceplay through him. And Pattycake Productions through Voiceplay. Now I'm a Patreon of all 3.

yes layne Stein has played violin most of his life if you look in the credits it says vio-layne
This is definitely one of their masterpieces 💜
The guys did an amazing job with this one 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻 They don't do bad songs 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻

I think Something Just Like This and Scars to Your Beautiful/All Time Low mash up are fantastic and overlooked.
Amen.

They are amazing & did a great job with this song ~ should check out METALLICA S&M ~ any song doesn't matter ~ it'll change your outlook on METALLICA
I can't wear headphones because hearing impaired, but even without 'em it vibrates my goddamn teeth
VIOLIN WAS BEING PLAYED
Next up, showcasing much more of Geoff's vocals, Oogie Boogie's Song will do just that.. ruclips.net/video/EbxkOntz2SA/видео.html
High and Dry on Geoff's solo channel does that as well.
Would love to see your reaction to creep by voiceplay
