A Dreamy Week in Provence: Sailing, Perfume Making, and Stunning Views - June 2023

When it comes to exploring the picturesque landscapes and charming towns of France, there's no shortage of options. I recently embarked on a 7-day road trip through Provence, and it was nothing short of a dream come true. Join me as I take you through the highlights of my journey and inspire your own adventure.
Day 1: Cannes - Sailing the Azure Waters
Our adventure began in Cannes, famous for its film festival and stunning Mediterranean coastline. Instead of the red carpet, we rolled out the sails of a catamaran and set off to explore the French Riviera's hidden gems. The crystal-clear waters, the gentle sway of the boat, and the warm Mediterranean breeze were pure magic. It was a day of pure relaxation and taking in the breathtaking coastal scenery.
Day 2: Nice - Where Art Meets the Sea
Our next stop was Nice, a city that effortlessly combines old-world charm with modern sophistication. Strolling along the Promenade des Anglais, we marveled at the azure waters of the Mediterranean. Nice's art museums, including the Marc Chagall National Museum, offered a glimpse into the city's creative soul.
Day 3: Monaco - A Touch of Glamour
Monaco, the tiny principality synonymous with luxury and wealth, was our next destination. We wandered through the opulent Casino de Monte-Carlo, but the real highlight was the Oceanographic Museum, perched dramatically on a cliffside. The views from here are simply jaw-dropping. Monaco's grandeur and beauty left an indelible mark on our hearts.
Day 4: Eze Village - Where Time Stands Still
Eze Village, a charming hilltop town with cobblestone streets and stunning views of the Mediterranean, was our next stop. The Jardin Exotique de Monaco, filled with exotic plants and succulents, was a highlight. It's no wonder artists and writers have found inspiration in this idyllic village for centuries.
Day 5: Grasse - The Scent of Adventure
In the perfume capital of the world, Grasse, our senses were in for a treat. We toured the Fragonard perfume factory, where we had the opportunity to create our own personalized scents. Mixing and matching fragrances, we crafted something uniquely "us" and left with a bottle of our own signature scent-a treasured souvenir.
Day 6: Gorges du Loup and Gorges du Verdon - Nature's Grandeur
Our road trip took an adventurous turn as we explored the stunning natural wonders of Gorges du Loup and Gorges du Verdon. The sheer cliffs and turquoise waters of these canyons were awe-inspiring. Day 7: Lavender Fields - A Fragrant Farewell
No trip to Provence would be complete without a visit to the iconic lavender fields. We roamed through endless rows of fragrant purple blooms, our senses intoxicated by the sweet scent of lavender. It was the perfect ending to our journey through this enchanting region.
