Some knows about it. Backers, their friends. Maybe a few at work or some knows but doesnt care. It's not a global phenomenon. More people heard about The Witcher 3 in a month than Star Citizen in a decade. Trust me, I hope this game will be something, not just a cool collection of CGI celebreties.
I know triple a actors don't make a good game or movie, but I just want that level of awesomeness in a videogame. I want to fly in formation with Mark Hamill, talk with John Rhys Davies, get to know Gary Oldman and see if he's crazy or not and I want to hate Ben Mendelsohn and throw him into a prison cell. All of these experiences are only possible in a videogame and not just any videogame, only CIG is so crazy to get all these actors together to create something unique.
Yes man, this makes me expect some nice quality characters moments from this game, from the 1 hour gameplay demo they showed, and the experience Chris has with movies, i believe we are going to see something phenomenal, hope the game keeps the quality i saw with Mr Lian Cunningham's character in the demo and surprises the industry with an awesome game history.

Even just watching this video (from over a year ago now) proves how much they've done that they aren't just dumping on people. No single player game is ever revealed before it comes out. At most, devs will let people play 10 minutes of an altered level at E3 or something. The fact that people are so pissed off over this project is just completely illogical. I almost wish CIG kept their doors closed so they wouldn't have to deal with the ignorant masses who just want to piss on everything that is cool.

@@Viriatum that's why I'm always nice to randos, and you should too. You never know who it is on the other side of that computer screen. Being careful of course, there are those grifters out there, but you really never know who it is. Who knows, you could have already played with him and not even know it. They also maybe just testing random people to see just how nice the community is at random by selecting an individual person that they come across just to see how nice they are.
Its still a while from release. Any publicity ventures would be a pointless waste of time now, and would look bad on part of the cast and production. Publcitiy ramp ups only generally start 6-12 months pre release, we might just be approaching that 12 month window now.

Actually this was the cheapest part of the game, Most of these actors either worked with Chris Roberts back on Wing Commander or reached out to join the project personally.

Most industries are expecting the females to look "feminie" these are celebrities they are expected to look nice and pleasing to the eye especially females but here is a game.. The designer can make them anything they want. And actually they(some) look good in the game though.

And all the in-game scenes you just saw, yes. They don't reveal everything about SQ42 because it's a single player game--it's not SC. After they're done with SQ42, they'll dump those assets into the SC universe.

what a tremendous waste of money and effort. if this ever comes out, its going to be something that - at best - gets an 'yeah its was ok i guess', and at worst, becomes a duke nukem forever style curiosity. or daikatana.. the exact same thing, really... where an auteur becomes more obsessed with whatever the hell theyre obsessed with, rather than actually making the damn game. I mean at this point, it doesnt even LOOK all that amazing any more.

Merci SC France ! Faut avouer que c'est quand même un putain de Casting ! Le rendu de certains visages de personnage est vraiment excellent. Il faut espérer que le DNA Face donnera un rendu équivalent (J'ai de gros doutes ^^ ). Car en fait on vois bien que le rendu n'est le même entre les têtes d'affiches et les seconds rôles (Ce qui est compréhensible). Toutefois ça promet !! J'ai trop hâte de jouer à Squadron 42.

if you look at Chris history, he work with some of the big names before they became super famous and, if you have some big actors is like domino effect that others want to be a part off,
This was one of the original kickstarter goals, if they reach X million they willget big name actors. Also Mark Hamil and John-Rhyes Davies worked with Chris earlier on Wing Commander. Henry Cavill is a big gamer and he contacted them to be part of it if i remember correctly :)
No publisher means no wasted 100 million or more on advertising which is usually 1/3 of a budget for the big AAA's. That'll buy you quite a few good actors and a butt load of really good lesser known and B actors. And also his connections in Hollywood.
Some, like Henry Cavill (who's actually a Star Citizen backer), asked Chris Roberts to be in the role. Some are long-time friends, and others were sought after. Either way it's going to be an amazing game, I believe.
I hope they get most of these older guys to act their parts sooner than later.... givin the time it takes cig to develop, we may lose a few along the way.
This was good. But you are going to have to make a part 2 when the full cast is revealed.. there are more big surprises to come. Sc-Fi fans are going to be very happy, and there are several American actors not yet revealed, but you will recognise them instantly.
This is absolutely fantastic! But next time, can you like, put where they are known from under their titles? So I don't have to google every single one of them?

Faut avouer que c'est quand même un putain de Casting !
Le rendu de certains visages de personnage est vraiment excellent.
Il faut espérer que le DNA Face donnera un rendu équivalent (J'ai de gros doutes ^^ ).
Car en fait on vois bien que le rendu n'est le même entre les têtes d'affiches et les seconds rôles (Ce qui est compréhensible).
Toutefois ça promet !! J'ai trop hâte de jouer à Squadron 42.

How in shit's name did they afford such big names?
if you look at Chris history, he work with some of the big names before they became super famous and, if you have some big actors is like domino effect that others want to be a part off,
This was one of the original kickstarter goals, if they reach X million they willget big name actors.
Also Mark Hamil and John-Rhyes Davies worked with Chris earlier on Wing Commander.
Henry Cavill is a big gamer and he contacted them to be part of it if i remember correctly :)
No publisher means no wasted 100 million or more on advertising which is usually 1/3 of a budget for the big AAA's. That'll buy you quite a few good actors and a butt load of really good lesser known and B actors. And also his connections in Hollywood.
Some, like Henry Cavill (who's actually a Star Citizen backer), asked Chris Roberts to be in the role. Some are long-time friends, and others were sought after. Either way it's going to be an amazing game, I believe.

This was good. But you are going to have to make a part 2 when the full cast is revealed.. there are more big surprises to come. Sc-Fi fans are going to be very happy, and there are several American actors not yet revealed, but you will recognise them instantly.
