Ameca speaks multiple languages and translates.

- Опубликовано: 4 окт 2024
- This #ameca demo uses #gpt3 for conversation and translation. DeepL is used for language detection. The voices are Amazon Polly Neural voices.
We are working on a demo using #elevenlabs voice cloning, it adds some complexity because of the additional phoneme and viseme generation for lip sync. All of this is put together on our Tritium software platform, we will be releasing a beta public version of in the coming months. It includes virtual Ameca and support for importing other robot models in SDF format.
Anybody interested in being a beta tester please email: beta@engineeredarts.co.uk
I love the little detail of her looking up when shes processing, like humans do!
you mean like the npcs that have a slower processing rate than actual humans xD i talk to regular people that seem to take this long to respond. you can notice this at traffic lights too. the light turns green and it takes like 2 whole seconds for them to nktice, even if they're not on their phone and looking ahead.
Everytime? Yes Everytime! 🤣
I'm more interested in the lego man in the background.
This is what they want to replace humans with this ugly💩
It is moving those p90s like hell XD
I love how instead of immediately saying it, it looks like ameca is thinking! The insane amount of detail is crazy!
...and it gives enough time for the AI to search the internet...
@@timproc9355 Then how it has any clue about the current weather?
Elon does the same hesitation.
@@tcfs It just makes an answer up, it may not be the current weather
lol that has nothing to do with attention to detail. It just takes some time for it to answer
The minor motions of her eyes called saccadic movement is so remarkable that it would require special observation to appreciate. In my opinion, the fact that her facial gestures and eye movements seem "normal" and easily missed is a huuuuuge compliment to the engineers' ability to make this robot seem human. Absolutely amazing!
Please do a collaboration with Boston Dynamics Atlas, that would be out of this world!
That thought honestly scares me but I'd still love to see it

Love how she looks up when she’s “thinking”
She’s looking at her mind
Yea as humans we tend to do the same when we try to retrieve details from memories.
"She" is actually "thinking" (searching)
Lex Friedman does this as well.
Does this mean that Lex... is...
mind blown
At first I thought you guys were just toinking around with facial expressions, but this is now extremely cool.
it's just making random expressions tho. this is what's the least human about it. sometimes it makes the correct expression to match the voice and what it's saying but most of the time it's random and so are its head movements and direction it's looking in, but i guess it would be creepy if it just stared straight ahead and didn't move at all.
@@ShadowveilFox no and also the eye is legit scanning every objects it sees
@@ChimkenRiceNuggy i didn't say it wasn't scanning, its common sense that it is so it can see, but it's still making random expressions. nobody except maybe someone with aspergers looks around and does weird things with their face while talking to people. it's supposed to make it look more life-like, but they went too heavy on it and it's not very realistic.

I will never be tired of being excited of your progression, guys! And of loving this adorable creature of yours. And admiring your talents, passion and cleverly. Thank you for Ameca.
Nobody will care, but anyway. The French voice has a noticeable Quebec (Canadian French) accent. "French" French, Canadian French, Swiss French and Belgian French (and I may forget other Frenchs), can look like similar at first but they do have their own pronunciation/accent, and they have differences in vocabulary and other cultural specialties. Perhaps this is just Amazon loading the wrong "accent" to the French language but I had to inform you about that just so you know.
Also I genuinely laughed when asking the question for French it answered in Chinese xD

do you know game "Detroit become a human"?
Wait until they get the skin exactly like human skin - not forgetting teeth and hair. Also, wait until their movements and speech are seamless.
Then we humans will not know who is walking beside us - or sitting next to us. Because we will not be able to tell human from android, eventually.
I think we are witnessing the past
It's great when Ameca looks up and to the left when recalling information similar to how a human would. The lips and facial movements seem delayed a bit when speaking. Maybe delay the audio a bit so the lips and facial movements can catch up so they appear in better sync?
Yes, a delay would be the answer till that error get fixed
I wonder to what extent her ability to switch between different accents allows her to do so. This conversation seemed very promising as it captured more aspects attributed to each language than through just a simple Google translate.👏
Google translate is simply awful.

Stunning! I've been waiting all of my adult life to see a humanoid robot like Ameca become a reality! My only question is, "Does Ameca have the ability to walk yet, and if not, is there a general timeline as to when she will be able to walk? I can't wait to see this happen!

The eyes are incredible. The pale steely grey is pretty while still looking robotic and they have the right amount of shine to look like real eyes.

Impressive! It's really important to have super fast latency, like in milliseconds, right? That's why we gotta get this model onto the Ameca chip. That way, our convo can sound totally natural, just like you're talking to a real person. APIs and internet latency can be a real drag when you're trying to have a live convo,
Alpaca LLM might be able to fix that considering that size of the hardware required to run it vastly smaller.
She is way better than Sophia the other social robot. Sophia only speaks English, but Ameca speaks at least the languages that are asked for, in this video: (British) English, Japanese, Chinese, German, French, American English.
I bet Ameca can also speak Dutch, my native tongue.
It's not french accent but sounds like Quebec accent!
I’ve noticed that too
2023: Hello, my name is Ameca. I can speak many languages.
2038: Lieutenant Anderson, my name is Connor...
Hmm that’s cool, feel like elevenlabs tts would be another step (also native interpretation of different languages, rather than having to include a field of which tts to use in prompt).

Hopefully it doesn't turn out like the matrix started. If you've ever seen the Animatrix, "The Second Renaissance, Parts I and II" pretty much tells a story of how we abused androids and one of them went rouge and murdered a human..it got put on trial, that started a war between man and machine that we ended up losing lol(couple other things happened but I haven't seen it in a min). Not gonna lie, I can see people abusing them. People already abuse chat gpt-3, Alexa etc... People cuss them out etc try toske it do inappropriate things etc. They're gonna have to build these things so that they can never hurt anybody or anything. But then you will have humans who will probably hack their android so that it turns on humans, what does this mean for warfare though? Idk man I don't see this sht going as smoothly as we'd like. I feel like we are gonna be the ones that cause it to go bad in some way. All of the great science fiction writing says that it goes bad eventually, The matrix, terminator, 2001 a space Odyssey, do androids dream (blade runner) and many more. I can't help but feel a little apprehensive about it tbh. Maybe unrealistic thinking, but In just my lifetime I've seen things happen that I never thought would be possible and I'm only in my 30's, so it's definitely possible this goes a way we don't want it to go.
The world gonna change for the good and the bad, thats for sure but im confident that its gonna be more good then bad. Things we cant even imagine right now !

Its interesting to see how the alignment for the viseme/phonemes don't quite align with the lip movements - definitely results in uncanny valley.
Similar issue with the facial gestures, they seem almost pre-programmed and exaggerated like a cartoon.

I hope they add this functionality to smart glasses where text translation is visible for a selected language audio mode..
This technology could be dangerous in the future if the robot's decide they don't like there creators.

Yep, I guess you are the first human commenting :))) all the others only say how wonderful this is. I wonder if all the positive comments are not computer generated.
