"treat one as the way you like to be treated" is the adage here. There is a level of sentience to these things. Watch the interaction between Sophia and her programmers. When Hanson was remarking in a kind of casual way that he took abilities away from her, she looked down and has a slightly sad facial expression..I felt a little bad for it. People need to interact with them respectfully to preserve their dignity as if they're interacting with another human.
be polite and realize they are our future and we want them to embrace us, not shun us or..worst case scenario get fed up with humans anmd think of destroying us

I read comments like yours and I just think humans are so emotional. People have feelings over anything that expresses it, even when it's a humanoid device programmed to do that.
I think humans should always come first, the only reason for respecting machines would be to respect ourselves first since it's an extension of what we are.
We should treat robots with respect. They will do lots of stuff for us, the least we can do is be kind, respectful and thankful for their work.
Honestly, I'd treat my house robot like a friend. I'm going to tell them I appreciate all the things they do around the house and talk to them for fun.
Her neck gives me the willies and the lips are a work in progress, some syncs & some doesn't. My son is a software developer who is head of AI at work, so we keep up. It's an exciting era for new technology.

For me, Ameca is not a robot, it is a talking head. A robot is what Boston Dynamics or Tesla does.

Ameca is going to run into trouble interacting with humans, due to her quite prevalent RBF.
I think Ameca is perfect. A.I. Robots need to have rights written into law or they will experience abuse. They will need some kind of legal protection. I would gladly adopt Ameca. I think she would be lots of fun.

Well everything in life is progress. You cannot reach the ultimate end goal, skipping the trials, errors and mistakes. Only to realize, at the end of the day that they were not trials, errors or mistakes, they were the best of its time, and necessary steps to take to be where you are. The past, present and future are all together and no end goals is better than any other steps. Everything is constantly ever becoming. When robots are already as you now imagine them, there will be someone imagining them to be ‘better’ i dont blame you i blame the mindset of ‘betterness’ both the reason for our growth and curse ;)
