That's always on everyone's skeptical mind, but one way to prove or disprove that would be to actually buy (or maybe rent) Ameca - EA will sell them I think for a couple hundred grand so you could have your very own Ameca to play with (it's one of my dreams). I do think robotics companies are making a mistake in design. Humanoid robots are just creepy looking. They should keep it simple and able to perform multiple tasks. The best design I think is found in the simple home robot, Loona "petbot" as they call her. It's small, doesn't take up a lot of space and follows you around and responds to specific commands. These humanoids, while impressive, aren't very practical and only the super rich could afford one. And they're so creepy that many people wouldn't buy one even if they had the money.
