  • At Southampton University, Engineering students supervised by Dr Gerald Muller developed a waterwheel for ultra-low head differences, for applications in rural Pakistan.

    Good work.
    One minor suggestion. I am currently involved in low head projects in Pakistan and have surveyed Peshawar. There are no 2m head sites which can produce 9kW. But there are many in nearby areas like Charsadda, Mardan.
    We are using Kaplan turbines for these low head schemes

    aluminium rim on aluminium roller expected to take several KW on point contact in wet conditions AND not corrode or wear?
    lol. trains run on hardfaced steel tracks for a reason...
    ok, replace that with gears or at least rubber rollers...
    that being said, the more head, the better.
    i did like the shot at 1:53. shows the water coming (almost) to a complete stop... still a lot of turbulence though...
    feed in from the side and have the buckets at 90 degrees the other way...

    Bonjour , je ne parle pas et ne comprends pas l allemand, mai votre vidéo si c est bien le ca veut démontré que vous voulez faire tourné une génératrice, puis reu injecté l eau du bas dans le bassin du haut pour produire du courant et la faire tourné en boucle et avec un minimum d énergie ! . Bref vous vous rapprocher du mouvement à répétition, pour ne pas dire perpétuel. Est ce le but recherché ?
    Car j ai une idée phénoménal à ce sujet et c est comme si d un moulin on y met un turbos ou pire un compresseur , à plus bonne continuation

      that estimate was based on the average electricity demand in rural Pakistan
