    You nailed it India.
My generation being raised up in the 60's and 70's was a special time in history. We liked each other! That was just how the times were.We learned about life through the greatest era of music there will ever be.
The Music is what drove us to live.
We bonded with friends through Bands and their songs. We went to Concerts and passed the joints to the people in front, next to or behind us.
Life today is nothing resembling what we lived through back when. We have evolved negatively, into a very Angry society. The stuff record companies produce today that is called music, is far away from what you heard here today. Many of us We can't understand how so many could love today's messages and sounds which speaks in downward tones, where as the songs of the "ROCK" generation spoke of good times, and getting along with each other.
BTW Concert tickets cost anywhere from $2.50 to a whopping $7.50 in the early to mid 70's. I hated to but I had to spend the unheard cost of $10.50 to see Led Zepplin in 1977 Cleveland Coliseum, Section 110, Row "H", seat 8. I will never forget that seat nor that Night. I also saw them the next night, show was not as good as the first.

That’s Michael McDonald singing lead.he was solo before this and after. He was everywhere inthe 70s 80s and 90s. He did duets with everybody. He did “on my own” with patti label. You would be listening to a pop artist throughout these decades. Suddenly you would hear a male backup singer in the back of the track and it was him. Who knows if he made much money but michaels vocals we wanted and were everywhere. He might not have even gotten credit for what he did but he did it all. Best backup male vocalist of all these decades.

India, I just found your channel, this is wonderful thing that you are doing. I saw the Doobie Brothers in the parking lot of the Mall of America in the mid 90's. It rained until about an hour before showtime, since we lived 10 minutes away we drove over to see if they were going to play(no internet then). The band was setting up but the only fans were a handful of us in general seating- the back bleachers. When the music started and very few people had shown up, I walked to the front and dumped the water off of a chair and sat down. The bleachers cleared and everyone followed my lead. What a great afternoon to hear a great band.

You would like “I keep forgetting”. 80’s Doobie’s features Michael McDonald on vocals. A whole different sound from Doobie’s 70’s. Oh My Gooodness! And, he’s beautiful!

My music was '70s music: Earth Wind and Fire, Tower of Power, Santana, Chicago....
I always liked the Doobie Brothers but it's only recently that I realized how much. Michael Mc.Donald is one of the best singers, both lead vocals and background. And the Brothers did some great songs even before Michael joined. They had more of a rock vibe, but rock with soul. Glad I got reacquainted with them.
