Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA) hosts Induction Training Programmes specifically designed for Lateral Entrants at the levels of Joint Secretary, Director, and Deputy Secretary within the Government of India.
In this video, Prof. VN Alok highlights the role of IIPA in delivering this training in collaboration with the Department of Personnel and Training, supported technically by various governmental ministries and departments.
The primary goal of the programme is to bolster the leadership qualities of participants, focusing on both developmental and diagnostic skills that have room for enhancement. The objectives of the training are threefold: firstly, to provide insights into the management of government machinery and fundamental governance concepts; secondly, to develop skills necessary for effective service delivery; and thirdly, to clarify the specific roles and responsibilities of positions such as Joint Secretary, Director, and Deputy Secretary in the Union Government.
