I actually went to this game, played in a northern California monsoon. It was the only time I sat in the sideline seats at Frank Youell Field. I always sat in the less expensive endzone seats ($2.50) by where Buffalo scored its winning touchdown. Before the game a nice man had an extra ticket on the sideline and invited me to watch the game with him. It was a heartbreaking loss as Oakland lost in the final seconds. Having said that, Clem Daniels long touchdown was the greatest open field run in mud I have ever seen.
@ Doug Flutie was my all time favorite Bill because he was an underdog a fighter and winner. I heard Ralph Wilson wanted his highly paid Rob "Crash Test Dummy" to be the starter.
Jack Kemp (15) was the premier QB of the AFL back then. He could run the ball when needed and didn’t turn the ball over a whole lot - kinda like the current Bills QB, Josh Allen. Go Bills!

Did you know the AFL and NFL fought lie dogs to sign players but had an agreement to not steal players from the other league? When the Giants "steal" Gogolak from the Bills, Al Davis wanted to "steal" all the NFL's quarterbacks (which could happen because the AFL owners were very rich) an that threat caused them to merge.
Great classic stuff, those were the days. I remember watching on TV the playoff game between Oakland and Miami and will never forget Stabler falling to the ground as he passed to Mike Davis to win the game. I hope the Raiders will improve with Tom Brady being around.
Interesting game in 1965 between the defending American football league champions buffalo 🦬 bills against the Oakland raiders at frank you’ll field where the bills railed for a 17-14 victory after being down 14-10-muddy, wasn’t it??🏈🏈👍👍👍
Al Davis used to brag about the Raiders being the most successful team in sports. The stat read from 1963-1983 the Raiders had the best winning % of all teams in the four major team sports. He left out the fact that football has by far the fewest games in the regular season, therefore making it much easier to compile a better %. A MLB team back then would have to win 138 games to equal a 12-2 NFL team. Al never let facts get in the way of a good story.
The Raiders weren't even as successful as the Athletics, who won three World Series during the years when the Raiders couldn't win one lousy playoff game!
@ Agreed, but Al used winning % over a 21 year period to attempt to illustrate his point of consistent excellence. Good point about the A’s having more championships while in the same city.

Thank you for providing some real football to watch!
Thank you for posting this.
On March 14, 1967, Daryle Lamonica was traded from the Bills to the Raiders.
As a old Bills fan ........ don't remind me ....... :::CRYING::::
@@horaceball5418 Strange how Buffalo gives up on good QBs, like Doug Flutie.

Frank Youell Field in Oakland was named after Francis J. Youell, an undertaker and the owner of the Chapel of the Oaks Mortuary in Oakland.
Where was Frank Yule field located? What’s there now?🤔🤔🤔🤔

Whenever a super-rich football team demands taxpayer funding for a new stadium, tell them to build it like that one.
Pete Gogolak; the first soccer style kicker I’m pretty sure. I love the double goal posts in the end zone.

How did they ever keep those fields playable? What a mess. The grounds crew earned their money after this one.

Clarence Davis; Mike Davis intercepted a pass in Cleveland to seal a playoff victory for the Raiders...

To think that “Jackie” Kemp later became a vice-presidential candidate in 1996.
@@chrisbunka back in the day my dream ticket would have been Kemp/Powell
@ I definitely concur on the Powell part.
Back in those days teams had to keep a much larger staff to launder the uniforms.

Great AFL games before football became over glamourized!
The referees looked like they worked in an ice cream parlor.
