Good info, subscribed. What other farm equipment can we get for “free” through USDA grants? Would love to learn more about other opportunities to get equipment for regenerative ag farms
Thanks for the Sub! Lots of opportunities available through your NRCS office, every county throughout the Country has a little different programs available. Hit up your local office to see what's available.
Thanks for this video. I set aside a garden spot last year but it was too late in the season and am going to get it going properly this year. Due to the weather I have already been thinking about a high tunnel so I will look into this grant.

Do you know if we can install fans and humidity devices inside of it?
I have a small greenhouse where I keep grafted tropical fruit trees and seedlings. I am thinking about to move to my in-laws property (4cres) and apply to see if we could get a big one like yours.
I took a permaculture course and we want to transform their property into a jungle. They’re located in a 9b zone.

You are welcome! Thank you for watching! Yep you certainly can install that equipment, it just won't be covered in the USDA grant. Check with your local NRCS office for sure but that's how it is in Wyoming. That's also awesome you are making a tropical jungle!
The last thing im going to do is ask the governme to help me pay for a high tunn. They dont nee to know any of my busine on my property. I dont conform, they do not get permish and i dont want government in my yard😅
I respect that, it's your choice what you want to do.
I feel the same, but I might be willing to get a free high tunnel. But I'm not doing any business to justify a grant and just want one for my personal use. My food growing stuff shouldn't have any permitting issues. As long as they don't care about electricity and give me grief over my solar system which I am pretty sure counts as off-grid but I don't want to risk the utility disagreeing.
Grants are definitely available for doing just that.
On a property where you are leasing and growing for market long term this is free money for growing high value hot crops! Especially in a colder environment!

I looked into it and I was told I had to show 3 yrs of crop sales before I could qualify for a high tunnel. Am a homeowner not a industrial farmer.
Shouldn't be no stipulations tied to sales, income ect, with USDA grant anymore.
I wish this was available in Africa or Nigeria

Great information. I have been wanting to put my dragon fruit into a tall high tunnel. I do have a other Cattle and Hay YT channel where we fixed our irrigation lines, cross fencing, and planting our sprigged Tifton 85 grass hay with the help of NRCS. They did like 85%. I will aske about a High Tunnel and see if we qualify and what our best option will be. I will let you know how this goes.

Been paying into the tax system for years.. Rather see tax payer dollars be used for something like this, than the other current options.
