Our Story:
We are five years into a seven year effort of transforming 20 acres of "Piney
Grove" in Northwest Florida into our dream homestead/mini farm to be filled
with animals and joy. We plan to have a variety of miniature critters on our
pastures, raise free-range chickens, grow fish in our pond, garden
organically, plant fruit and nut trees, and harvest wild game. Our goal is
to escape the stresses of corporate life and embrace all that country living
has to offer as we enter the next chapter of our lives. Follow along on our
journey!

Having just unloaded 15 railroad ties by hand, I’m jealous. Precious is such an awesome tool!
Been there, Lucas! Precious to the rescue!
DO NOT Go wide open throttle unless you need the power. I have over 50 years of experience and have watched so many out of control. All you need id time. You are getting it. At almost 80n I still use my excavator often here on my farm.
I'm not very good with it at WOT!! Such a great machine. Thanks for watching.
Good video Brad as always! I find it easier (and faster) to smooth a driveway by making the top link longer for the box blade. By rasing the front blade of the BB, the rear blade does a great job at smoothing things out. And on the plus side, you get to drive forward as oppose to back dragging (especially nice on longer driveways).
There's a couple more videos coming on this build...I got better at it but still not a pro! Thanks for watching.
Interesting way to develop a drvewqy.....I. enjoyed the content.
What a difference in time and sweat to work with precious versus by hand. Good start on the driveway.
Carmen, my body is letting me down in my 50s....can't lift them like I used to. Precious has been a blessing!! Thanks for watching.
Driveway is off to a good start, you got it looking good. I have very little seat time on an excavator, so I can't help you with the idle and pump question.
Thank you. The camera makes it look better! Hats off to operators who can get it right the first time quickly!
I'm sure you prefer this kind of project compared to fencing 😉🙂Have a great weekend 🙋🏼♂
Yes, less manual labor and more time on the machines!! Take care, Luc!
I absolutely love watching your channel.... Its the best!
That's a nice long driveway, but don't forget to also put a turn around spot. Otherwise, the vehicles will have to back out way too far!!
GOD Bless You and Deb
Good advice, but backing will be required!!
This is my opinion and advice. Idle and diesel don’t mix id run at least half throttle min. Also pushing with your front bucket curled all the way under is an easy way to bend those cylinders. I was always under the impression with box blades to move dirt go forward and to level is reverse. Love the videos! It’s looking nice out there now!
This job was probably suited more for a skid steer, but we don't have one of them!! Thanks for watching...more box blading coming.
@@PineyGroveHomestead I understand completely we gotta use what we got lol. I wish I had an excavator! I probably should have bought that first instead of a tractor.
That's looking good
Thank you. The finished product videos will be releasing soon.
Gettin' there. PG out. :)
One project at a time....and there seems to be an endless supply of projects!
No, never full throttle!! I go 1/4, works perfect.
If I throttle it up too high, it's kinda jerky. I do most things at idle.....burns way less fuel. Thanks for watching!
Time for a pond update
It really is. We have one planned, but not filmed yet.
