Clockwork Videos you have improved my sonic overall skill tremendously live the videos. Keep it up. Sonic has always been a character who I wanted to learn.
There are two types of feelings I receive from Sonic's up-b: The sinister satisfaction of gimping someone with the spring, and the rush of adrenaline I get when my opponent accidentally jumps on my spring and puts them in a position for an up-air off the top.
These videos help me learn way more as a sonic player, I’ve been able to make elite smash with sonic thanks to your vids, can’t wait to try new tricks I learn from these vids
JCxParkour C for sure dude, took me months and months like 4-5 month’s to get elite smash, and when I do get it and play a match I always lose so I spend another 2 hours to get back in lol
Using side B to recover is actually a game changer because helps to not get edge guarded as often... Definitely need to practice my spin shot and some wall jumps... Thanks a lot bro
Thanks for watching, I'm glad I was able to help! I used to use Side B offstage to recover all the time, but I just recently learned that Down B is actually better to use. I talk about it at 4:16 if you're interested in seeing why!
Everytime I watch one of your videos I say wow I'm gonna do this. I proceed to get bodied as Sonic and then the cycle continues. It's good practise though as I'm slowly improving from your guides
I feel like sonic has one of the best recoveries in the game. He has spring into airdodge, spinshot, and even homing attack in certain scenarios. I'm bad at recovering and this character kinda nullifies that, I love sonic lol
Wow what an amazing guide! It’s honestly quite useful for anyone that is struggling with Sonic’s recovery, or just the character in general! It’s an awesome video just like all of your videos are and will be! Keep it up! 😃👍 🔵💨
Even though I knew some of these tips there are some I didn't know such as using Spin Charge to go from one side of FD to another or using Sonic's F-Air/B-air to increase his horizontal movement. Anyway thanks for the tips Clockwork, I'll try to incorporate these into my Sonic play
thanks man this helped me alot my recovery game got alot better and i can manage to stay in elite smash longer then one match now, until i kept rematching a cap falcon and losing 😓.
Great vid, this time I knew the first 2 mins and 40 seconds at least. I hope you can cover Sonics down air spike at some point, I have big trouble pulling that off.
Learning how to wall jump in Smash Ultimate Using F-Air & B-Air boosts your recovery distance, horizontally Using Side-B & Down-B without a double jump off stage results in an SD Soooo many different factors of playing Sonic, I truly didn't know existed, up until now, when watching this video! Thanks Clockwork!! Using Sonic will become much, much easier now. Especially when attempting to return to the stage, & mixing up recovery options.
Darn i wanted to be the first to comment :c oh well love your videos and you def showed me that my favorite character in smash was good enough to main :D and i truly love you for that
Your explanation of not using side-B after double-jumping because when you go off the ledge you won't have your jump back explains to me why I keep SDing with Squirtle.
Another recovery which is kinda risky but helpful in some situations is to simply use his homing attack to go straight to your opponent while your off the stage, if you aren’t facing your opponent though you might just dash off into oblivion but it helps when getting edge guarded cause you can just instantly hit them.
Just a tip about wall jumping If you hold the control stick towards the stage after a wall jump you can grab the ledge without the need of an air dodge.
Dude I love your videos! After the sonic guide can you do an elite smash with Luigi? I think you suggested one a while back and I've been waiting for it since! Keep it up!

you the goat man, question: is it possible to recover using the homing attack in any way? i always SD when i try; sonic always goes straight down & to the right when im not near someone, any idea how to bypass it, if possible?
clockwork you forgot the spin charge in the air, when Sonic go Green he can pass trhought proyectals and also do difrent animation so i hope you find out what that mean

opponent rly got defeated by a spring and a cheesy kick
4:35 whaaaat you went under the whole stage! That’s so impressive!

I can’t seem to hit Elite with Sonic yet. I get to a certain point and then fizzle. Like I hit a wall. More practice is definitely needed.
JCxParkour C for sure dude, took me months and months like 4-5 month’s to get elite smash, and when I do get it and play a match I always lose so I spend another 2 hours to get back in lol
I can get my Sonic to 5,200,000 before I start to drop. I haven't dropped outta Elite yet but I've come close
Pros and cons dude me too
JCxParkour C I feel you man, it’s like one game I’m good but the next my face is getting slammed
I love how sonic's Ide animation comes out at just the right time, every time you make a point :D

@@ClockworkVideos yeah that's what I saw, haven't tried down B offstage, I'll try it later, looks a lot helpful
Also just just tapping the b button once in down b is decent for stalling and gives him more horizontal momentum
5:03 helped me out so much, I’ve lost many many matches cause I couldn’t act out of a roll and I couldn’t figure out why
Watching these guides in conjunction with SGK's and Lyco's tech guides really helps to make the most out of optimizing Sonic
Wow! Didn't know about wall jump to air dodge! Thanks!
Already a new guide? This shows how good Clockwork is.
Yeah making a video about pressing up b shows how good he is lol
He's getting em out like "clockwork"
Best joke 2020 so much definitely
So many useful things about his recovery that I never knew about. Thanks again Clock!
My Sonic haves been sloppy 😃 hey i bet this guide Clockwork made would help me remember again.
I was not expecting this one to come out so soon after the first one!

Incredibly useful, i learned actually a lot and i’m a pretty capable Sonic. Thanks and keep these up!
Yes, another sonic guide!
Just keep it up good works!
Sonic Unleashed had some of the best music, this song being a great example ^_^
Nice video, but I've already learned this from your montages, which are amazing btw, keep up the good work
Thanks a lot man, please continue making this type of vids
thanks man this helped me alot my recovery game got alot better and i can manage to stay in elite smash longer then one match now, until i kept rematching a cap falcon and losing 😓.
2:36 he teched that?I am impressed...
Hey just wanted to let you know I've been watching your vids for a while and I'm also a sonic main myself

Aye as soon as I leave school clockwork uploads
I’ve put like 400 hours into sonic and that spring ride stuff is new to me. Blows my mind.
Calvin Nguyen Same just I’m at around 300 hours lol
We need a SPIKE guide 😣
Clockwork: makes new sonic guide
Me:"it doesn't matter!"
"Now or what happens, I will never give up the fight"
Only one thing to say now that we got recovery tips:
LET'S GET 'EM!
I had no idea Sonic could wall jump, thank you sm
This’ll really be useful, I’m going to a Gaming Expo Tournament for Smash Ult. in November and I need the professional practice with my main.
ages yo man I need some tips on how to kill with sonic I find it really hard
Darn i wanted to be the first to comment :c oh well love your videos and you def showed me that my favorite character in smash was good enough to main :D and i truly love you for that
actually learning so much here
Thanks again for the guide. I personally think Sonic is one of the best characters for edge guarding thanks to his recovery.
This was rlly needy
Thank you so much for this dude! ^^
I’m loving these. Do a video on finishers next?
Edit: not basic finishers
Colton Verlint homing attack and charged up a are great finishers
But mainly when fully charged
Easy:just f-smash,seriously it works, sonic has like one of the best f-smashes in game,it can out range beyleth(whatever the name is)at some point.
A new legion of sonic mains will rise...
I'm glad to be a member of this new race... no longer alone.
Been maining sonic since brawl, never knew how to recover until ultimate came out lmao
sonic does actually have an amazing recovery it just takes a small bit of skill to get used to.
I knew both Sonic's Side B and Down B had some pros and cons apart from damage input. This video is going to be very helpful for me in the future. :]
That spring ride is really new to me and this will help connect the up aerial after getting nerfed
Thanks for the tips! This really helps out a lot when playing against my friends
I used to be a sonic main became a pit main now ima go sonic main again
Keep making vids on playing sonic on smash, you inspire me to keep playing as sonic the more I watch you play
Great guide as always! Also I feel sorry for King K. Rool lol
As a occasional Rool player that part of the vid was very disturbing
@@TomWhittaker I totally understand why lol
Really nice tutorial! 👌
One more time, i learned a lot so thank you ^^
We will truly be sonic mains everyone
Thanks for the tips man
From one sonic main to another
Your explanation of not using side-B after double-jumping because when you go off the ledge you won't have your jump back explains to me why I keep SDing with Squirtle.
Perfect timing 9:45
Great Video Clockwork! I hope you expand the channel further! Maybe some walkthroughs of Sonic Games!
As far as I know, one can attack to cancel the side-B and down-B in the air even without the double jump
Another recovery which is kinda risky but helpful in some situations is to simply use his homing attack to go straight to your opponent while your off the stage, if you aren’t facing your opponent though you might just dash off into oblivion but it helps when getting edge guarded cause you can just instantly hit them.
Just a tip about wall jumping
If you hold the control stick towards the stage after a wall jump you can grab the ledge without the need of an air dodge.
Keep up the good work clockwork!
Respect for you because I like Sonic too
Fun fact: spring ride was originally called spring trap by one of the first sonic mains, Lynn, back when brawl released.
im a big fan of all of your videos. super informative!
Bruh all of these are so helpful! Thanks man!
Thx 4 the tips clockwork, ur the legend
Apotos my man.
Dude I love your videos! After the sonic guide can you do an elite smash with Luigi? I think you suggested one a while back and I've been waiting for it since! Keep it up!
I love you dude!
Hmmm.... Something like this can also help in Smash 4, and Brawl.
Good video bro, I also think that the spin shot could be used for approaching someone too
I believe that if you flick your stick left and/or right while in either side B or down B, it will allow Sonic to escape the move
I’d like to see a video on kill options at various percentages. And possibly a tier list for the best sonic skins 😆
Thanks again Clockwork
Another day, another video of sonic guides I for some reason watch.
Like yesterday I 1v1d random mates in school and I beat’m using 1 joy con sideways
Do a guide on spiking for one of the final episodes

Also can you do a video with tails channel please
Aww yeah! This is happenin'!
hmm i see that spring ride still exist in this game
Thanks, these help

you the goat man, question: is it possible to recover using the homing attack in any way? i always SD when i try; sonic always goes straight down & to the right when im not near someone, any idea how to bypass it, if possible?
Kng Jaylon I think based on which way your facing is the way the homing attack will go if it doesn’t lock on to the opponent
Nathan Stewart I thought that too but he will still go the opposite direction sometimes and idk why
realy good tech
only 50k? Your underated.
5:50 actually he can,you can almost here the up air connect.
Though it is still a suicide move.
The spin shot was easier was in Smash 4 if you are using a Nunchuck
clockwork you forgot the spin charge in the air, when Sonic go Green he can pass trhought proyectals and also do difrent animation so i hope you find out what that mean
