I personally buy Nintendo systems / games but I have no issue with anyone who does emulate present nintendo titles due to their bullshit policies with their games and RUclips exposure.

Maybe they're just jealous because the emulators they provide are a bit half assed.
Except it's not that simple for a few reasons
1: not every game is really built for PC, most are but there are ones that aren't
2: from a company perspective they have no real reason to release them online as most PC's run windows this a directly competing company
3: regardless of whether you have a point or not emulation is piracy, this is a fact and it's why Nintendo is well within it's rights to strike down emulators

1) PS4 doesn't have an emulator yet.
2) Don't throw away the game, rip the ISO so you don't have to hunt down an illegal site to download it.

You don't have to download brain cells. You need to download a part of your subconscious so you think you have more brain cells, and then you can experience more hardware intensive dreams

If you delete brain cells, or don't have the highest grade of brain matter, your FPS will degrade over time.
SgtWhite its not possible to dream in 30 fps the human brain can only register 26 FPS at most

Spectrum Check out Planet Austin. He plays all his games legally and has in depth Tutorials on most Emulators and a ton of Front Ends as well as Arcade Cabinets.

Lots of emulators for systems using optical media can read the disc directly from the physical tray. Makes it even more fun since it adds a bit of immersion to the emulation itself, like for example, using Monster Rancher's disc stone feature to get monsters from any disc you have lying around. It also clears up some of the legal gray area since you're using an official copy of the game and not one that you ripped or downloaded.
Interesting. Do you happen to know a list of emulators that can do this?
I had a dragon Quest VIII Disc for PS2 liying around my room somewhere would be cool to try it out on that. :)
PCSX2, a PS2 emulator, can play off the disc, and so can ePSXe, a PS1 emulator. I *think* Dolphin can, but I haven't tried, though if not, you can always just copy your disc. I haven't played anything for other systems using optical media, so I don't know off the top of my head what else there is.
I want to emulate friends because I have none. :[

Saying emulators are illegal to use is like saying torrent clients should be outlawed. Sure you can download unpaid software and movies with them but you can also use it for other things like software distribution.
I feel kinda bad. I've used the cemu emulator and been playing Mario kart 8 and breath of the wild. I've modded botw with graphics packs so it looks beautiful and have been playing it at 60fps with cheat engine. I wouldn't have been able to play these games if it wasn't for emulation. I don't have a lot of money so I wouldn't have been able to buy the games. The reason I feel bad is because you can still buy these games I just don't have the money.I probably would never have been able to play these games if it wasn't for emulation but it still kinda nags me. I think when I get older I'm gonna buy the games so I can say that I own them

Man i used to be "scared" of emulating and thought that it would be complex. But after actually trying it i found out that it is almost easier than actually buying the game.

With 1.8.1, yes. There is still minor glitches, but 98% playable.

Thanks for this short introduction to emulation Barry. The title may be a little misleading to people looking for a full tutorial, but even so, it is a great way to start.

Great video! Just a very small correction that would be that you don't burn an ISO from a CD/DVD/Bluray to a PC. That is often referred to as ripping. Burning an ISO refers to the process of putting data that's contained in the ISO onto a blank CD/DVD/Bluray.

I've been emulating some GC games through Dolphin. I own them already but I wanted to see what could be done with them at a higher resolution etc. I've played MGS Twin Snakes, Spiderman 2, Soul Calibur 2, Twilight Princess and the first Spiderman movie game. Soul Calibur 2 runs great. But the widescreen hack seems to really mess with the graphics for most of the games I have experimented with.
How tf is this one of the best videos I've watched? Good job man I'm gonna give your Channel some love. All these games are weird I was born early 2000's. Old enough to know of these games existences but not really remember them. It's all a little strange though playing them is like a fever dream.

A good channel for in depth setups is Simply Austin. He helps set up front ends (which allows you to click a system, choose a game from it's list and play) and emulators.

When I started the video and saw Spider-Man 2 I instantly got nostalgia, as it's one of my favourite games and I play it on one of my favourite classic consoles the PS2. Also one downside about emulation is it isn't quite the same as the original console (though this mostly just for nostalgia), like putting in a memory card, plugging in the classic controller connectors, turning it on, putting in a cartridge or disk, man the good old days.
Thank you this helped me a lot i saw nobody say anything about emulator zone so for every console i wanted to emulate i needed to look it up separately this saved me a lot of time.
My first Emulation experience is FightCade, the game I played is Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Heritage For The Future, the arcade version, which I doubt (because it's in the 90's) is even sold. FightCade allows you to play them online, connecting ports to fill in Player 1 and Player 2.

Generic Troll it's because of the NES classic I believe. what they did was they threatened to sue anyone who allowed the ability to download Nintendo published games. but luckily you can still find "ROM/ISO collections" that contain many or a specific amount of ROMs. they aren't hard to find, just Google it.

I use Portalroms for wii and wii u isos, but there's only really popular games on there.

Pro tip: PCSX2 allows you to play PS2 games directly from the disc. In PCSX2 go to CD/DVD and select "Plugin".
Also, downloading the BIOS is also a grey area. If you have a PS2, then it's best extracting your own BIOS from it. If you have a modded memory card then the process is literally effortless.

The best way to watch bullet barry's videos is to watch them
Emulation is also very good if you don’t have a lot of money or a lot of space for 10+ consoles in your home. I also recommend it for game libraries that were not available in your country. You can now purchase consoles that have done the hard work for you (you just need to plug them in and pick your title): I go for this option mainly because I had limited success emulating the games myself (downloading the roms was the easy part: getting them to work on the actual system was the hard part. The system either stopped working or only a few roms actually responded when I clicked on them). One software that I have found really good for playing foreign games on a GameCube, on the other hand, is Freeloader (I’m British and had received it with a game from America I got as a gift, so I can play American and Japanese GameCube titles on my pal console). Freeloader is a disk: you put it in the GameCube first, let it do its job, take it out of your console and put the foreign game in and let it run normally. It does recommend that you use a separate memory card for the save files for games outside your region, but I’ve never personally had a problem in that aspect.
Do you mind if I ask where I can get my hands on the ssbm ISO for Dolphin? I've noticed it's been taken off of emunation and the other websites I have found it on are packed with malware or are extremely sketchy at best. I don't have my physical copy and I haven't played it in seven years, so I'd love to be able to play it again. Thanks!

It absolutely blows my mind as to how many people don't know about emulation. You see it all the time on comments about the NES mini and SNES mini. People are so excited to finally be able to play a few select games from their childhood. I'm like "umm hello! You know emulators have been a thing for years right? You've always had access to literally thousands of your old games. Not to mention you can play them all in HD and use stunning graphics enhancements."

NOTE: if your pc disc drive does not read the discs of your console, some consoles can be modded to dump the rom to a usb flash drive.

I’ve also made the argument that if companies aren’t making money on the product then emulation shouldn’t even be a problem. I’ve been called a hypocrite since I despise 500 in 1 cartridges. But with those my excuse is that you own the console, you were capable of buying a game for it, if it wasn’t a rare game then why did you buy the cartridge? Which reminds me, if emulators didn’t exist games like Hong Kong 97 would be borderline impossible to play. Not to mention modern retro games wouldn’t exist anymore. Because yes, people still do make new games for the NES and SNES.

It’s best to get the emulators from the official source, i.e. RPCS3 and Dolphin, because they get multiple updates per day, especially RPCS3, because it’s still pre-alpha, and the latest Dolphin has a lot of fixes that the outdated, two year old version on the emulator zone lacks.

My friend showed me a GBA emulator for your phone, now I'm playing FF V. Better than most phone games atm.
You can also download an emulator for iPhone with Tutuapp. For that you dont need jailbreak
These companies charge 60 plus for new games and dont have anyway to get old ones. Dont EVER feel bad its fuck rich people and corporations all day.

Emulators aren’t legal actually... section 117 says that it’s only legal for archival purposes. It doesn’t matter if they run differently, because it violates copyrights
That's incorrect several court cases in the 90s from Sony, Sega and Nintendo against commercial emulators like konectix and bleem the big companies ended up losing those cases thus setting case precedent for emulation being legal
Because of that emulation is legal and big companies can't go after them anymore
