the "oh shenandoah" part was sampled from one of those beloved songs we used to sing in school growing up...dylan's version brings me back to those 50s days. incredible,
we sang it at school even in Australia. This made me really cry 🙈🩵🩵🩵
How cool is that Bob Dylan chose to cover this song? Wow! Dylan does a great job on it too. This song was from Bob Weir’s 2016 Blue Mountain album. I recommend checking that out if you haven’t already.

YES! I agree on the "river" observation! From the opening song the theme is established. I followed Bob last April from Memphis to OK City. I shot photos and video and each of those towns, Memphis, Little Rock, Tulsa and Ok City had a river that ran through it!

Some of his best vocal performances these days are on covers….I think he really focuses and wants to pay tribute to the original artist. Best example might be when he covered Learning to Fly after Petty passed…his voice was trash that tour …but for that song he annunciated with care & dug deep.
