I'd love to know what the benefits are of living there and what it's like for transport and seeing the Lakes etc.. I've been considering relocating to Shropshire, but I do like the Lakes, despite the rain!
Remember that old song "Life in a Northern Town" by Dream Academy? This song kinda reminds me of that :) Again, great video, Richy! Love to go to the Laurel and Hardy museum there someday :)
I commented on another video. I currently live in Spain and have just sold my home in Bedfordshire. I work online and have considered buying a cheap stop gap to renovate in Workington/Allerdale. What's the catch? Being raised in Luton, not dependent on local economy. It can't ever be worse? Right? Tell me!
If Workington doesn't work out for you, consider Ulverston. It is such a friendly town. We moved here in 2004, from Hampshire, and haven't regretted it :)
Would not recomend Workington, I was born there left in the 80's for a reason, people buying up cheap houses that are not from the area, make it harder for young local people to buy.
Zuwena Codrington I’m from Ulverston but occasionally visit bury (more specifically Whitefield) and that’s a happy balance of city life and peace for me ahaha
I was born in Ulverston, went to Victoria High School. My old man had a business on Brogden St. Greetings from Melbourne , Australia :-)

Spent many a happy hour in the Piel Castle pub back in the 60s

I enjoy watching your vids. I wish you would make then more often.
Tesco Tom lives there
Best place to drink, especially at Christmas time. Barrow's town centres depressing, full of gob sh*tes streets paved with chewing gumb and seagulls.
amazing video,thanks
