- Welcome to the last video in our chapter by chapter analysis of Kazuo Ishiguro's Never Let Me Go!
In this video we'll look at the images Ishiguro ends the novel with. We'll also examine why Tommy asks Kathy to stop being his career. Finally, we'll spend a little bit of time appreciate the slight moment of hope in what is otherwise a pretty depressing ending.
Please feel free to ask any questions you have about the chapter in the comments. I try to answer them all.

Well done on this video series. Very informative and easy to listen to. God bless!
Thank you so much! God bless you too!
so, i just started this book a few days ago for my ap literature project. i didn’t think much about it (the title looked interesting so i went with it). let me just say, i have never been more thankful for my laziness. and of course you! after reading each chapter- although i was skeptical at first, given i don’t usually read these types of novels-i’ve watched your videos to combine my insight with yours, and you have completely opened my eyes to certain details and theories about this book. i’m so thankful for you and wish you the absolute best
Thank you so much for the incredibly kind feedback! I hope your ap lit project goes well!
This is the first book that’s actually made me cry for real
Just finished the book, and I'm truly devastated. This was such a roller coaster. I'm quite glad i chose this one for my English oral exam. I now understand way more why Kathy finds excuses for Ruth when she thinks about the past, it's very understandable after everything that happened and how she tried to make up for all the "bad" things she did to Kathy. This is so sad though, their lifes, what they were made for, their ending. Damn I'm truly sad about all this and it's just fiction, and the way the book was written, addressing us directly, made this even more heartbreaking! A true masterpiece. I wish we knew more about Kathy though, what happened to her after, how her donations went, how the other new "students" lifes went, if there was any hope for them to become more "human" for the human world. Thank you so much for this videos, very helpful! keep up the good work
The ending of this book absolutely crushes me emotionally every time. Even after reading it a few times, I still dread getting to the last chapters. But I also love it - Ishiguro is simply incredible.
The ending does leave a lot of questions unanswered. I find myself, despite being so devastated, feeling encouraged. It reminds me that our time on this earth is temporary and that we should cherish it and try to make the lives of those around us better.
Thank you for sharing all your thoughts on the novel! I love getting to talk to and learn from other readers. And I have every faith you're going to do excellent on that exam!

I’m taking the ap lit test tomorrow and I started this playlist to prepare for my prose essay. Not only did these videos help remind me of the important moments of this book, I also was reminded of some of the heartbreaking themes that made this my favorite book that my class read. Great job on these videos!
