still amazed that, after all the press, he would name his son after him, and the II.

@Cameron I was thinking about listening to Jim Brown naming his son after himself, and why he now regrets it... and why Lew Alcinder/Kareem didn't name his son after himself...

1:51 - I don't understand what he means here. "Far enough away to keep other pilots out of the way should the missions continue."

Maybe he means to indicate an altitude sufficiently lower than 68'000 ft to deceive KGB and make them think that soviet air defense (SA-2 missiles) can't shoot planes at such high altitude. This gives less confidence to SAM missile operators when deciding to fire a missile on such a high altitude target.
Then, his fellow U2 pilots can continue recon missions at maximum altitude without changing it or calling off the missions.

He was flying to low. I’ve heard this plane can fly over 80,000 feet. He didn’t destroy the plane - and walked away from it. The Taiwan U.2 pilots shot down - two were given 20 years - four dead - six dyed in accidents. I think Gary did not do his Job. So what are you trying to say.

Living off his father's traitorous life. Disgusting. 🤦
