  • How will the Shimano E7000 motor stack up against its bigger/older brother the E7000? Time to find out in this long range, high altitude test.
    In this ride we compared the 2019 Vitus E-Sommet Deore running the E7000 with the 2020 E-Sommet VRX running the E8000.

    What an amazing scenery and using ebike makes it much easier to climb to the top .

    Really good video! I’ve been trying to get an ebike from my work (Halfords) with an E8000 motor but it’s impossible at the moment 😩 You’ve got a new sub btw!

      Thanks very much. I'm not a big fan of Halfords bikes and would strongly point you in the direction of your local bike shop or chain reaction for example. If you can buy through the cycle scheme then you'll still get a great deal. More videos coming soon. Thanks again

      i would be very surprised if Halfords had one. ATM they have got almost nothing.

    I think the video or description would benefit from the bike specs too.
    Knowing what you are riding can help people look for them and compare which ones are right for them if they are looking.

    Which is better? E7000 or E8000? Im so confused what to buy.. Can u give me an explanation what and why should i buy? Thanks alot, im enjoying your video. Keep the spirit bro!

    • @TheBikeStudio
      @TheBikeStudio  4 года назад

      Hi Steven. If you're buying new then try and get the E8000 or the new EP8. If you're looking second hand then go for an E7000. I think you are less likely to have issues in the long term with the E7000 however if you buy new you will have a few years warranty so don't be afraid to go for the more powerful units.

    Great video Ben, thanks for sharing, am wanting to buy my first all mountain full suspension e mountain bike but have a budget of around £3000, any suggestions?

      @TheBikeStudio  4 года назад +1

      Hi Gary. I'd go for either a new Vitus E-Sommet/Escarpe Deore or maybe a YT Decoy if you can stretch to one. The Canyon Spectral On is good too.

      @@TheBikeStudio Had had a look at the Vitus E Sommet, which is the absolute max for my budget and looks good, only have x large size and I need a medium, been like this for ages, very difficult to buy Emtb at the moment, hopefully restrictions lift and companies can get back into production again, actually considered getting ordinary Sommet but managed to stretch budget for ebike, looking to travel up in the north of Scotland and want an ebike to go further, thanks for your answer and advice 😁👍

    Don't get anything with a shimano motor. They are not serviceable and don't last pissing time..I've one with only 3500km and it's on its way out..its ridiculous that they can't be fixed or serviced. €800 every year and a half is madness. Get a motor that can have the bearings replaced.

    Could you have carried a smaller 6000 series battery as a spare? I.e, would it fit on either 7000 or 8000 series?

    Do you notice a difference in torque? Are these bikes custom tunable via an app?

    • @TheBikeStudio
      @TheBikeStudio  4 года назад +1

      There is a difference when you ride the bikes back to back but if you just ride the E7000 the torque is still absolutely fine. It would benefit from a larger rear cassette on really steep climbs though.

      @@TheBikeStudio thank you for the video it was almost exactly what I was looking for. You are in an interesting spot since you have both First decent comparison video I have seen. I subscribed and liked!. I'm looking at both motors, I am curious about the torque. as I live in an area that is not quite as high, 2000 ft or so but much much steeper and technical. On the really steep stuff do you notice the difference in torque?

    • @TheBikeStudio
      @TheBikeStudio  4 года назад +1

      @@chrisarnold4075 Thanks for your kind words. There's really not a big difference so if your budget is tight then you won't be disappointed with the E7000 however if you can spare the extra cash I would go for the E8000. It's a really great motor.
