"the alleged comedian" haha Question: While I agree on the section regarding Mother Theresa, how do we make sense of Sirach 12:5-7? Give to the godly man, but do not help the sinner. Do good to the humble, but do not give to the ungodly; hold back his bread, and do not give it to him, lest by means of it he subdue you; for you will receive twice as much evil for all the good which you do to him. For the Most High also hates sinners and will inflict punishment on the ungodly. Give to the good man, but do not help the sinner. I have heard that the "sinner" and the "ungodly" are more like like the enemies of the Israelites. Or should we judge that the Law of Christ supersedes this?
"Salvation is from the Jews." -Jesus to the Samaritan woman in John 4. "There is neither Jew nor Gentile, nor male nor female, for all are one in Christ Jesus." -Apostle Paul in Galations 3.

Copy/Paste: An essay published a few months ago defended “zooph-ilia”, or bea-iality. They made the point that with modern s-xual ethics; then you can’t say it’s wrong. What makes it wrong? Would you say it’s okay to f- an anim*l? It can’t be consent bc animals don’t need to consent for us to do things like hunt them. Is it ab-se? Well, here’s a good way to answer that: If it caused an anim-l no harm would it still be wrong? Obviously, yes. What about forms of s-xual actions that don’t h-rm them? So, why is it then wrong? Simply put; it’s a p-version. Humans should f humans. And taking this logic, since per-v-- are wrong; then g-y would also be wrong. What is the natural partner of man? Woman. We know zoo- is wrong innately, like we do g/y stuff is. We have a natural feeling of “something is-t right here.” Zoo- is wrong bc humans have a certain dignity, so they shouldn’t sleep with anim-. It does not lead to human flourishing. There’s a reason humans don’t sl-p with rocks, dogs, or whatever else. Likewise, we know that men and women compliment each other. G- “relationships” don’t do this. This complimentary nature makes a se-l relationship possible and good. Meanwhile, g- relationsh-s aren’t based on this, and so are not good for human flourishing, and they are not like the norm-l ones. In fact, they are unn-t-ral, and brining something like this into society, harms it. It also isn’t open to procreati-n, which is the end of s-x. Going against the end of something is wrong. Finally, it hurts the structure of the family.
Argument: 1. Is f-ing an anim-l wrong? If yes, why? 2. Is it cons-nt? If yes, how come we can hunt and eat animals without con-nt? 3. Is it ab-se? If yes, then what if it caused no h-rm to the anim-? What about acts that don’t cause h-m? Would it still be wrong? Obviously, yes. 4. So, humans should have s with humans. 5. Taking this a step further, the nat-al partner of m-n, is wom-n. Therefore, men should have s with wom-n.
Strange that because it's not always the case. Quite often I will call those in the wrong names, but only after I've made my case as to why they're wrong. No logical fallacy has been committed then.
People on either side get name called. I seem people say mean things about biden as well as trump. By this logic it would imply both of them are doing something right

Stop pedestalizing yourself though, it's not Nero's Rome. You don't even know what it means to be "hated by the world" until you attempt to transcend the very concept of 'opposition' itself. That's the secret to overcoming Satanic dominion in this realm once and for all, and it must take place individually, within each and every human heart. That's the real trans-substantiation that the parable of Christ merely laid out the breadcrumbs towards. The true second coming is the inner re-Union of mankind.
There’s a reason we don’t have s with rocks or d-gs or something. Introducing these things into soceity which are unn-ural cause h-rm, and are not go-d for flourishing.

I thought phobia meant fear. Deuteronomy 31:6 Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” Who is afraid of them?
The term 'phobia' is from the Greek Language. I considered this for a while, but I think that the use of phobia implies fear-mongering, as if to speak negatively about them is meant to cause fear. These terms don't seem comparable to a psychological phobia such as arachnophobia.
Fear isn't necessarily related to the threat of physical harm. Look through history in just America and you'll see at times there was an effort made to make people afraid of different immigrant groups.
How it works is like this: 1: Define homophobia or transphobia as virulent hatred towards gay or trans people. Not simply disagreement or unacceptance of their lifestyle, but angry, even violent opposition. 2: Get everyone to agree that homophobia/transphobia is bad based on this definition. 3: Change the definition to mean anything that’s opposed to the homosexual or transgender agendas. 4: Attack anyone who disagrees with these agendas as homophobes or transphobes, even if they obviously have no hatred towards the individuals involved. The way to win this game is to never play it. Never accept even their initial definitions. Also, refuse to accept that homophobia or transphobia are even things that exist.
No. Calling gay people ‘disordered’ is homophobia, no matter how you twist it. If i was to say Black skin is a mark of the ‘original sin’ and that black people are brutes, just like many Christians were doing up until 100 years ago, I would rightly be called a racist even if i didn’t go out of my way to beat up black people. I keep explaining to LGBTQ+ supporters point #1. I keep telling them that homophobia is a hatred of gay people and that Christians aren't homophobic or hateful towards gay people for simply not agreeing and supporting their lifestyle choices. They just don't listen even if you give definitions and logic. A phobia is a hatred and fear of someone or something. If anything, I've met way more LGBTQ+ supporters who are christphobic than Christians who are homophobic.
What they are doing to the Catholic school in the Yukon is deceitful. The textbook is not "homophobic." The textbook does not say that people with same sex attraction are bad or immoral. I’d like to even say that while individual homosexuals should be generally tolerated, the righteous public authority must resolutely condemn and forcefully suppress those who organize themselves into the heinous LGBTQ movement, promote their ideology to the public, and attempt to legislate or implement policies promoting their lawless ideas and behaviors. This is to safeguard public morality and social cohesion of the country, as well as to deter, to a necessary and realistically possible extent, these people from following the path of destruction and forcing others to the same way - indeed the harsh measures is in a way a measure of grace for the sinners! I'm not Catholic and I left evangelical Christianity in the 1980s because of my sexuality. Personally speaking the church teaching did cause me much psychological damage and self loathing. I just couldn't take it anymore. Im now happy and in a civil partnership; but it has taken years to get over. The church does emphasize homosexuality over many other issues which it could be intolerant about. I knew many divorced and remarried people in various churches. Not a word was said, nor was Paul quoted in 1 Corinthians 7. But I had Romans 1 quoted at me add nauseum. The "homophobia" is in selecting out of homosexuality over other moral issues which the church turns a blind eye to.
This is why it's important to read the Bible to see if the church congregation/pastors are teaching about Christ, what He did, and what He taught. I don't know where your heart is, but I do pray that your emotional, mental, and spiritual scars have or will be healed, I also pray that you and your loved ones will have a great week💐
Not in my experience. My Catholic mother married a divorced Jewish man. As a consequence, she, like people in gay relationships, was not allowed to marry in the Church and could not receive the sacraments to this day. The issues concerning homosexual relationships receive more press because the media is largely anti-Catholic, but plenty of heteros have not had their relationships validated by the Church.
It has always been a trick of corrupt movements to act as if the beliefs they are trying to impose are universal and born out of common sense. This makes it so that any issue they bring up is seen as non-partisan, which seems benign at first, but on second thought you realize it's all part of the hustle. Therefore, the words in question only make sense within a certain framework, but people always get defensive and end up playing the game on their terms. Bad idea.
My first taste of this pressure to 'conform' and use language that affirms only one position regarding sexuality occurred in grad school for education about 10 years ago. The professor was so angry because I would not play by her rules and use her language or engage in her scenarios. Instead, I continued to focus on the individual dignity of each child I would teach and how this innate respect would mean that I would never attack, humiliate or hate that person. She was so irritated and said, 'yes, I know you would always treat your students with care and love and respect." She wanted me to engage in all sorts of scenarios that would push me to agree that I needed to affirm the person's belief. Yet, the truth in all Christian charity, is that I can both respond in great love and yet not affirm someone's beliefs or choice. She bullied many younger students but a few, after seeing me stand up to the professor, joined in and stood their ground too. I couldn't imagine that such a short time later, this odd and disquieting class would become the 'norm' in our society. Lastly, I used basic child development information to point out why broaching these topics to kindergarten age children wouldn't even make sense-this was an age of belief in the tooth fairy and Easter bunnies and the ability to fly, so asking children to declare sexuality at this age was both irrational and irresponsible.

Calling an opposing opinion "phobic" is just a way to censor someone whose opinion you refuse to hear. Its an avoidance strategy that is intellectually dishonest. Its a way to besmirch the interlocutor's character, portraying them as hateful, as a means to discredit what they have to say without addressing the substance of the argument. Thankfully, this tactic is losing its sting. People are overusing terms like "homophobic", "transphobic", and "racist" so much that the intended effect of tarnishing someone's reputation is happening less and less. More people are getting wise to these slurs, and seeing them for what they really are - a sign that the person using these insults is intellectually bankrupt.
"Calling an opposing opinion "phobic" is just a way to censor someone whose opinion you refuse to hear" You know what censorship is right? As much as dismissive as ppl like this are, framing their refusal to listen as censorship makes it look as though you feel entitled to being listened which is being spoiled beyong reason. With that being said, I think bigotry can take much more subtle forms than hatred. People who were defending racial segregation might have even thought themsevles as acting in those marginalized groups' interests, and yet reasonable man today will call it racism nonetheless. In this case that more subtle form is called condescension and coincidentally it's what I regularly observe when I see catholics dealing with lgbt or nonbelivers

It’s similar to how people hate sibling marriage even if the siblings say it’s “true love”. There are reasons why both are bad, and it’s not hateful to deny this “love” from being in a marriage or sex because it’s simply not what God wants. Trent, the Catholic RUclipsr Dave Greene (“The Distributist”) has an excellent series of video essays entitled “Magical Words” where he talks about how these sorts of words (homophobia, transphobia, etc.) are weaponized and how to combat them in a Catholic way (especially in corporate and academic environments). I would highly recommend you give it a watch if you haven’t already.
Hold on a sec, just because these terms are being misused, doesn't mean that they do not exist, even Trent showed cases that these things unfortunaly exist even among christians (7:40), so let's be careful before saying "there's no such thing as homophobia or transphobia".
@@Miguel_77 The Bible says nothing about homophobia. What it does say is to look at self first before casting judgement. It's critical to overcome hate in the heart so we can see clearly. But that has nothing to do with so called homophobia. It's clear that word is simply a tactic meant to distract from the sin and focus on the ones who correctly recognize it.
They’re made up terms that have been weaponized to persecute people who know the truth. Loving people help their neighbors from sins. If this makes them “homophobic” or “transphobic” then so be it. I’m abortionphobic as well.
Y’all: if you haven’t read Trent’s book “Made This Way” co-authored with Leila Miller, you’re missing out. Been a faithful Catholic my whole life, but several times reading the book I audibly reacted in surprise as the pieces of Catholic moral teaching “clicked”, and had to take a moment to reflect on what I’d read. It also helped me talk to my oldest when his classmates started saying marriage could be between any two grown-ups.
Pretty soon praying in public will be viewed as "homophobic", or naming the name of "Jesus" in public, or just saying that God exists, or having a Bible in public. Let your light shine
Nobody has the "right" to feel safe from their irrational fears. This is why we have self-defense laws that say that you have to have a "reasonable fear" for your safety in order to defend yourself with lethal means. Some fears are not rational. Someone can feel not safe because they see a can of cream corn, but are they really not safe? Of course not! Likewise, it is unreasonable to not feel safe because someone thinks that you engage in sinful behavior, especially since most of those who think that you engage in sinful behavior would agree that everyone engages in sinful behavior. Also, to say that the children are not "disordered" is just to beg the question. That really depends on whether their thoughts and actions really are disordered or not. Most people's thoughts and actions are disordered in some ways. They, or their thoughts, or their actions, are disordered if it is the case that God has a purpose--an order--for their life and the lives of others and they are living in a way that goes against that purpose. To call someone "Homophobic" is, at least in the vast majority of cases, just slander in order to attempt to win virtue points or to gain an illicit advantage in discourse. The same applies to many of these labels. Most people accused of being racist are not. Most people being accused of being Islamophobic are not. Most people accused of being misogynist are not. And so on, and so on...
Oh boy. You may want to change your mind on that lol. There does exist a subset of Catholics who do genuinely hate Jews simply for being Jewish. Disagreeing on doctrine is one thing, wishing harm on them is another.
Well-balanced position, Trent. Certainly a Catholic school ought to be able to put forth Catholic teachings to its students! I would be happier if the book also mentioned fornication and adultery as disordered acts. Any sexual activity outside the confines of Holy Matrimony between one man and one woman is disordered. I agree that we should love and care for all persons, regardless of their sexuality.
Catholic teaching on human sexuality is consistent and non-discriminatory: regardless of who one is attracted to, the purpose of sex is both procreative and unitive, and it should only take place within the confines of a monogamous marriage that joins one male and one female for life. It would actually be discriminatory against heterosexuals for the Catholic Church to allow for homosexual sex because it would tell those with same sex attraction that God's laws on human sexuality don't apply to them , but they apply to those of us with opposite sex attraction.
No. Let me make things clear for you. You tell gay people to stay celibate their whole life, to not have any sexual or even romantic relationship, never have a loving partner. Meanwhile you tell straight people to be married and have children and have sex within the confines of that marriage. You those two things are comparable? And worse, you think straight people are being discriminated against unless they force gay people to be celibate? What an absolute joke. Your ‘morality’ is truly vomit inducing.

Copy/Paste:
An essay published a few months ago defended “zooph-ilia”, or bea-iality.
Argument:

I thought phobia meant fear.
Deuteronomy 31:6
Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”
Who is afraid of them?
The term 'phobia' is from the Greek Language. I considered this for a while, but I think that the use of phobia implies fear-mongering, as if to speak negatively about them is meant to cause fear. These terms don't seem comparable to a psychological phobia such as arachnophobia.
Fear isn't necessarily related to the threat of physical harm. Look through history in just America and you'll see at times there was an effort made to make people afraid of different immigrant groups.
I'm going to blow your mind: some terms have multiple usages and alternative valences of meaning.
@@highroller-jq3ix So they are Christianphobic. Got it. 👍
@@Murph_gaming Similar to how *they* make people afraid of Christians. Very good observation.
How it works is like this:
1: Define homophobia or transphobia as virulent hatred towards gay or trans people.

It looks like they're going to pull the plug today. She'll be up there though. She loves Jesus and He loves her. I'll be praying for you all. You're awesome Trent and have taught me a lot as a 16-year-old Catholic kid in a predominantly Protestant/secular environment. I look up to you a lot. Thanks for being there.

@@NeedSomeNuance I think you need to look into that. Having a preference is one thing. Outright ‘disgust’ is just a result of men being socialized into homophobia from a very young age. Just like racists are ‘disgusted’ at ‘race mixing’, remember they were many laws against miscegenation up until 40 years ago. And certainly the way you talk about gay people like an some infection that you must keep ‘away’ from you is absolutely not rational. And atheists be bad people too. You’re a prime example of that 😘
I'm not Catholic and I left evangelical Christianity in the 1980s because of my sexuality.
Bad idea.
Amen! They say being gay and doing gay stuff is part of themselves, but no it's not.

@@Mish844 I agree, the people who call everyone homophobic end up being the actually hateful ones because they try to call other people hateful.
However, it’s not bigoted or hateful to believe that marriage is only for a man and a woman. It’s nothing against gay practicers specifically, it’s just that what they do is not what God wants. It’s similar to how people hate sibling marriage even if the siblings say it’s “true love”. There are reasons why both are bad, and it’s not hateful to deny this “love” from being in a marriage or sex because it’s simply not what God wants. Christians do not hate gay people, we don’t support their actions. Support does not equal love. It’s not bigoted to do what God wants especially since God’s will never ever changes.

The comparison I came up with a while ago was that no one would call you compassionate for getting an alcoholic a beer, encouraging him to drink, and telling him how fun he is drunk. We recognize that alcoholism is a self destructive and disordered desire so encouraging it is wrong, the compassionate thing to do would to be to approach them with love and charity to tell them they have a problem and offer help
Ben Shapiro has a similar example. To paraphrase:
'When my grandfather lost his sanity and was hearing voices coming out of the radio trying to talk to him, the most unkind thing we could have done is tell him the voices were real'
Thats easy: as you say alcoholism is self-destructive. Homosexuality is not.

It's unnatural for priests and nuns to be celebate.
you’re right it’s supernatural :)
Why? If my husband dies before I do, I plan to never remarry and spend the rest of my life w/o sexual contact. Most people go periods of their lives w/o sexual contact. Catholic religious just do it for their entire lives.
Earlier many people who could not marry for whatever reason would remain celibate for life.
All people, having been created in the image and likeness of God, possess an innate and inviolable human right to marriage. Even Gay people. Research has shown that discriminatory prejudice like this increases feelings of anxiety and depression among our gay brothers and sisters. THAT IS NOT LOVING THY NEIGHBOR. Teachings like this are not christian, they are not catholic, and they are not kind. Promoting homophobic bigotry against our brothers and sisters fundamentally betrays Christ's teachings of unconditional love and human dignity. It's time we evolve past such un-Christian discrimination.

To defend the irrational , we can expect people to deploy truly phobic terms. Phobias are a distrust or hatred of reason. Eyes really are for seeing. Ears for hearing. And our human sexual natures are the very means of creation and life itself. It is loving to tell people the truth, even the most obvious truths. Over a million young men have died from the unnatural behaviors that go against reason and the phobic denial of the most obvious facts of the two sexes.
Why anyone should care if you care about your public image or not? If you act like bigot, you're a bigot. It's not even an insult, it's just a discription of your character and intellectual capacity. You can "reject" this description as hard as you like but... nobody care :)

It also helped me talk to my oldest when his classmates started saying marriage could be between any two grown-ups.
ok now do this video on anti-semitism
Pretty soon praying in public will be viewed as "homophobic", or naming the name of "Jesus" in public, or just saying that God exists, or having a Bible in public. Let your light shine
Here's a new word: "truthphobic"
This is how I feel about “antisemitism”’. I don’t care to be labeled that at all

God Above & God Alone. I would rather be hated for Truth than loved for a lie. Yahuah's will is my Law unto death.
