    What's scarier is the inspiration for this episode was Steven Moffat seeing an angel statue in a grave yard and coming back years later with his son to see that the statue has disappeared with everything around it relatively untouched.

      Would that work? I haven’t watched the show myself, so I don’t know if this is just a prerecorded message or what, but do the angels not need an actual present person to be watching them? If that’s not the case, you could just print out pictures of people and attach them everywhere so there is no “unseen” spot.

      I can’t remember exactly but in theory a camera should still work since they are being watched… however they could just attack the camera if you look away

      @@catphishanson3565 he learned to when the BBC lost half their brain cells and announced that with the female Karen doctor and her reverse harem of men that cycle in and out that they will No longer use the same bad guys. I want Peter Capaldi back. He did make the insanely stupid gamble of stealing eyesight from one of his future regenerations but was instantly cured by the bad aliens and his gamble made him regenerate into the Karen and that was tolerable.
      But they should have kept the same enemy aliens because they are desperate. If only the queen didn't open up all the borders and really right now, Paris France is as Saudi as can be. It still smells of fresh urine because nobody wants to Pay 2 francs to pee and poop in the designated tolled toilets.
      At least Paris France is filled with what the tourists want, billboards of hinting porn 🙄.

    Someone mentioned this once. This Weeping Angels episode broke the fourth wall. There were angels that stayed still but weren't looked at, except by the audience. This is my favorite episode because it has audience participation.

    The weeping Angel's deserve a movie. A well written one because they are actually terrifying. Even if it was not a typical Dr Who episode and the thing in charge of them, or head angel gets revealed etc

And before you ask it was invented in Britain and Germany but the British didn't imediaty adopt it till late/post war while the Germans threw money and slave labour at it.

      ​@@draketurtle4169I grew up with Tom Baker's fourth doctor. And one of my first episodes ever of him was the Creature in the Pit I believe the episode was called? A big green inflatable looking monster was living underground and they were sacrificing people on the planet to it or something?. Haven't seen it in years but damn it was a scary episode for an eight-year-old. Back then I thought the episodes were amazing and growing up watching each incarnation of each doctor throughout the years you don't even notice the production values sometimes it just gets cooler and better. But yeah going back and watching the older doctors episodes you definitely notice it now. But growing up you didn't care. It was a really cool show regardless.

      I actually tried doing this for a few minutes and it somehow isn't as effective as just blinking. Eventually you will want to blink

    Still to this day, the best episode of Doctor Who I have ever watched. No over the top effects, no groundbreaking plot heavy moments. Just, here is a new villain, it is genuinely terrifying. Nothing like it has ever existed aaaaand go! Tremendous what this episode did.

    "Blink" is Absolutely my personal favorite... Impeccable thought-provoking writing, creepy iconic villains, sad and sweet romances, and stellar cast! Even has one of my favorite actors in a cameo, Richard Cant brings the message to Sally in the beginning.... Always thought he'd make a wonderful Doctor!

    After this episode for next Halloween I made a full weeping angel costume, then the following year I reused the costume on a mannequin outside our house. A unforseen bonus, I happened to place it on uneven ground and the wind would make it "shift" every now and then. When this happened it would make people jump, and one mum even screamed 😂

    The weeping angels are honestly the scariest creatures from the Dr. Who Universe in my opinion. A house on my street has one they put up during Halloween and I honestly avoid that house.

    The weeping angels are best “villain “ in Doctor Who (imo)… I get chills every time I see a short about them from any episode. The one with River where the guy tortured one was such a badass scene

    This was my first introduction to Doctor Who at about nine years old and gave me nightmares for a good week. Still easily my favourite episode of Doctor Who ever, along with The Time Of Angels.

    i mean at least they dont actually kill you, they just send you back in time far enough to feed on the time energy and let you live out the rest of your life there. Honestly theyre extremely kind when you think about it.

      Well it's probably worse than what the Angels do in a couple of series after (snap your neck). They send you back to a time where you lose all your loved ones and force you to adapt to a different world.

    One of my favorite episodes from him. The weeping angels and Darleks were the most threatening villains in the Doctors Rouge gallery. The Master is also on that list, seeing that this Doctor's finale led to his hardest goodbye.

    This was the one villian that scared me as a child. Sitting on my mom's bed, laying at her feet, scared beyond tears just staring, staring at the screen as my little 7 year old self understood what being hunted felt like. I love this show.❤

    There's this Church right by where I live and it has a couple of angel statues up front. Since watching DW, I have kept my eyes on those statues and memorized its position. Where the arms are, their heads, what they're holding. All memorized.
    One day, I was walking past them and I could have sworn one of the angels had moved. Like the arm was in a different position. I honestly freaked. But since I know about the angels, I didn't run, I kept my eyes on them both and tried to get to my apartment.
    As I was maneuvering around them, I got close enough to realize the angel's arm hadn't moved. It was just perfect shadow placement that made it look (from my perspective) as if it had.
    So glad they weren't Weeping Angels

    This was the first and last time the Angels ever had a weakness to looking at themselves. Next time we see them, they're in huge groups and all looking right at each other regularly.

    Love the weeping angels, they were so well written. They don't kill anyone, just send them to the past to feed off a persons time energy. The only reason they attack people is out of necessity to eat. The only time I recall them attacking out of malice is the guy that captured one and was trying to torture it.

    This is the episode I always recommend to people who haven't watched Doctor Who before to get them interested in the series. The Doctor is hardly in it, but it is still enthralling. My nephew was 20 and was a jock basketball player. He'd always make fun of me and my daughter when we'd get excited for the next episode of Doctor Who or when we'd binge watch a season. He got injured on the job one day and couldn't get up and walk around, so I watched this episode in front of him and he couldn't avoid watching it. After that, he became a diehard fan of the show.

    When the rules of monsters, curses, or what have you, dictate that "You should not blink"
    Why can't I close one eye at a time?
    I'll still be looking at it straight on, keeping it in sight.
    So, why am I wrong?

      I've tried that. It works in theory, but somehow your eyes just won't accept it for long. Eventually you'll feel the need to blink properly.
