lol some of these comments are crazy and pretty telling.. Thank you for a great video!! A LOT of good information and it's always awesome to see another engineers workflow, definitely watching this twice.
I have the same speakers, and apollo soundcard. Hell, I even have some 15cm mineral wool absorbers here. That means... i have the gear to make billion dollar mixes. Uh oh, better get training
Hey guys, nice Masterclass. You should do one with Joel Dollie for those like me who are working into orchestral and cinematic kind of music and music production for musical libraries.
They probably filled out the EventBrite listing incorrectly, because that says 1-2PM ET as in Eastern, and we're all getting "starts in 2 hours" emails at 11 Eastern, and "starts soon!" just before 1 Eastern... Crud. Can't make it at 4 Eastern.
This is scheduled to premiere at 4pm ET / 1PM PT. Our livestream on Monday was at 1pm ET / 10am PT, but that's unusual for us. It was only because the presenter was in Finland. Maybe the Eventbrite invite mentioned both events, and so both times? I don't know I don't handle those.

I always thought why heart and soul have this cheap sound even though i like nba and the production was great the mix suckesssss . Now i got it😂. That standard cliper doesn't even working just slowing down hi cpu
If you “never” liked his vocal sound, including before he was working with Cheese, then I guess you didn’t find out why actually? Maybe you just don’t like him as a vocalist, or his taste in effects and treatments? You don’t have to like every artist or every genre.
His mixes sound good, but his work flow and his logic goes against everything I’ve learned and taught: lol not everything but somethings for sure; hit me back and I’ll name a few things that are weird.
Hmm it sounds good sonic wise but it wasn’t leveled like a hip hop track. I mean the drums are so low in the mix the vocals & other instruments completely outshine the drums to point i can barely hear percussion this isn’t how hip hop tracks are mixed nowadays, the mix is more like a classical song mix, hip hop drums have a certain knock to them and I know this song is more on the emotional side so obviously your not gonna have a pounding 808 and kick but I would at least like to hear the drums clearly to get the authentic hip hop feel. In conclusion this does not sound like a hip hop mix to me.
There are different hip hop aesthetics. Some tracks have super loud vocals. They are the minority when it comes to mainstream tracks, but sometimes they are the focus and the point. Clearly, whatever is happening in the mix didn’t stop the artist from becoming hugely successful.
if he mixes for nba yung boy then he is not a good mix engineer cuz nba yung boy mixes sound terrible im sorry to say he is trash yall need to get better engineers who mixed real hit songs from the 90s these new era engineers suck especially jason goldberg
Jeez Louise, tell us how you really feel brother. We have all kinds of engineers on here making all kinds of music in all kinds of styles. If there’s a guy out there who is making records that are streamed billions of times in hotel rooms and half finished basements with a backpack and a Mac mini, that’s a person who is worth knowing about and hearing from, I think.

@@noboyz4554you do realize every song have a different feel which leads to a different mix right? Not every song is drown out in reverb, this song is drown out in reverb for the feel and emotion of the vocal, if it was left dry then it would sound empty for the type of vibe for the song, 90s engineer hardly mix these songs so they wouldn’t fit these style because it ain’t 90s hiphop where there is little to no reverb, time y’all stop living in the past and move on or just let folks do their thing.

Hey guys, nice Masterclass. You should do one with Joel Dollie for those like me who are working into orchestral and cinematic kind of music and music production for musical libraries.
We’ll consider it, thanks! In the meantime, we have some with Jake Jackson and Junkie XL in that genre.
🔥🔥🔥
Jason🔛🔝🔥🧀
is my music good?
This man has done more work than he's been paid for. You can tell he LOVES his job. 🤍💪🏽
I wonder if he can slim down this template to still get the sound he wants
He definitely has the “analog” on on multiple plugins. U can hear the hiss
Did i miss what kind of microphone he uses to fit those type of spaces or did he just not mention it?
He talks about it in the Q&A here: ruclips.net/user/livewSuhpzT8rNg?feature=share
so is this event now or at 4pm est? I am confused
I am wondering the same thing
Looks like 1:00 pm PST… 4:00 pm EST.

200 plug-ins inside the session 😂😩 over compressed ! Let’s music breathe and be dynamic guys !!! 🎛️
Is something wrong with the audio quality on this or is that just me?
You’re the first to say anything. From the mic or the DAW or what? What do you think you’re hearing?

Sounds all mono and filtered out lows and highs in some odd way to me

@@SonicScoop Compared to other Hip-hop artists, I prefer how their vocals sound and I have nothing against Cheese i just don't like NBAs vocals.
