I have to laugh at those comparing this to the new stuff..look its not competing with the new stuff. this is a reintroduction of the OLD lunchbox from 87. I had one of the original trucks and just got a new one. there is something about this truck its just alot of old school fun.
I had one of these years ago . Its weakness is the fact it had ( dont know if still has ) is that there was no protection for the front wheels . It was ball and socket steering on the front servo ... If the wheels touched anything , they would snap off... I would still buy another tho , great fun
I wanted one when I was like 10 (1987) and never got one so I picked one up in 2005 when it re-released. Put her together and ran her once. Still looks brand new! Unfortunately I already had 3 nitro vehicles at the time so the LB was a joke. Still pretty cool to have.
I had one as a kid..indestructable...I never broke it! great first RC get the oil shocks and the ball bearing kit if you get this..the stock plastic ones wear out quick and the springs that come with it make it bounce ALOT!
iI did, i put an old school monster motor & ran 15v through the speed control, the resistor will heat up A LOT but if you go fast during your run, the resistor will be put into play a lot less, also, you might wanna extend your wheelie bar if your gonna do so cause it just torques & flips unless kept in check by the wheelie bar, have fun!
just had i lunchbox on garden wi french bully chasing it i love it ha ha always wanted one as a kid when couldnt afford one just used to stand in virtual realit at meadowhall staring at all the different models.
I so wanted this back in the days,,, but for whatever reason I ended up with department store RC. Than many many years later... I finally got me a hobby grade RC... HPI Savage .25
Its faster than a stock clod buster that I used to race as a kid..The Blackfoot is tha shiz thu...Great starter platform. This thing as I said B4 is INDESTRUCTABLE!!!
my dad had 1 over 20 years ago and just got rid of it 2 years ago now i told him i wanted 1 and i got it for Christmas it was shocking cause i didnt think i'd get 1
I got one not too long ago, and I love it so much. It may not be the best on performance, but it's about as much fun as it gets. I posted a vid of mine, check it out.
I had one in 1986. Just had to buy one again recently. Enjoying it even more now in my retirement. Lovin my little van.
The way those wheels bounce over the terrain - the angles - amazing to watch - looks just like a real Monster Truck!
If you're ever having a bad day just watch this video, bring ya right back up!

I need to email tamiya, see if we can get original quality on this video. This is important stuff.
Never knew they had commercials. So much childhood memories.
Say what you will about the Lunchbox, but with a bearing kit, that gearbox was indestructible! It handled like crap, but man, it was fun to drive!
WOW!!!! I had one and a midnight pumpkin, I dont know exactly how much yours is worth but if its new in the box I would say a lot.
this music fucking rules!!!
I love all of tamiya's big wheeled models
