I just needed to note: there's two different English translations of the Quran, ie; ( the Arabic translation & the standard English Quranic transliteration). - which the Arabic translation is more less an abbreviated vrsn, However, BOTH sharing the same concept (according to Al- Tasfeer reference) So basically, both should suffice
As for all faiths being the same, Muslims were not instructed to carry out every injunction of the Bible, and it's laws, However, the Quran does speak of preserving the Revelations, ie; ( Ayats ) that came before it - which is paramount.
For example; The comparison of the High Holydays of Muharram/Ashurah & Yom Kippur falling during the same month & season (both sharing similar Holyday rituals) including fasting, And the Ayats the that came prior.
This brings back the point you made of "Perennalism" of the study Quran - (which I think is a good resource,). Although I'm sure it's wasn't talking about actually of " being the same" literally, - But sharing similar Abrahamic rituals & the same "Ayats" (Revelations ) regarding the Last Day events,-
As well as both of our Gods being as "One". Surah 29:46
So Yes,... l would see why it would get much criticism ( likely by fellow Muslims ). Which lm also glad you've benefited from it as well yourself. So I'm sure it states all that for a reason.
