- You've all met the first addition to our family, Ruby the African Grey parrot. Well whilst we were away on holiday in America, she found herself a boyfriend whilst staying at her borders. Please welcome Woody, our second baby African Grey.

I grew up with an African Grey and of course she was named polly . I was 20 when she died . My grand father got her for $5.00 during the depression the man said he needed the money more than the damn bird . She became the matriarch of our family we all Loved her dearly she was the direct connection to all the ones that passed on. She mimicked everyone's voices . For the 60 plus years she was alive. We estimated she was over 70 when she died. She always had to have her coffee, egg white and toast every morning . If she didn't get it she would raise holy hell till she got it. I could talk for day's about her but I think you all got the idea . I'm to old now to have one but I really love them they are extremely smart i know from experience. Keep up the good work thank you. 🥰
So sorry for loss Big Ben. Is it possible for you to foster another Grey from the rescue center that is waiting for a permanent home. That way you both can enjoy each other's company for a few days to help with the loneliness
I would absolutely love to except for one small problem and I can't do that to a wonderful creature that gives its heart to some one . I'm 70 years old and I don't know how much time I have left. I'm one of the Vietnam vets that is Agent Orange positive amongst a slew of other problems that I'm fighting. When they some times lose a close companion they will greave them selfs to death . I just can't do it. I truly thank you for the offer .

it's even better when you are old and have more time and don't worry that it will outlive you if you have kids you can pass on the torch to them

That’s cute. We also have two; one’s also a red factor like yours. They’ll keep each other company (in separate cages) while you folks are at work.
How sweet is luv to have two...I have a baby boy now 22months got him at 3 months....he's a handful on his own.

Mustafa Mehmood hello, I am looking for one that is from a good. Redder or anything for not too expensive but not illegally imported from the wild or anything! I am a child and I want one but my parents seem on edge with it all! Please could u recommend a breeder? This would make them seem more happy 👍
That new baby is gorgeous I love the white toenails and the Red Factor sadly some of the Red Factor may disappear when the bird gets older but hopefully it keeps some of it if not all of it I am curious if you paid more for it because of its coloration

I'm a budgie owner of (one, male) and he's in the progress of being trained to step up in his cage before I let him free fly. But reason to is I'm saving up for a African grey, I've already got the cage money saved. But loved watching this video. It was so cute to watch both of your greys and kissing each other. I'll only be able to own one grey because I have dogs that I'll have to put away when my grey will be free flying. But loved the two videos hope to see more grey videos. Beautiful feather babies you've got and the fur baby too.

If you're ever able to save the cash, it will be well worth it. Although they're also very expensive to take care of too with all of the toys, cage and nutritious food :).

I had a grey african parrot her name was pepper but she is dead and she died at 5 months and I still cry at night ☹️😢😢😢😢😢😢

What size cage do you have? Beautiful birds! I hope to have one in the future.
I’m not sure on the exact size but their upstairs cage is huge and they share this overnight. Their downstairs cages are smaller but they spend very little time in this one. They also now have a room with lots of toys and ropes that is theirs 😊

hey getting my grey in two weeks time. i’ve had two years experience looking after a grey. the previous owners say she’s friendly and needs to be out all the time. She’s already stepped up on me. She’s really friendly. Do you think she’ll warm up instantly or give it some time ?

i was thinking about getting a second grey, but cookie my 11 yr old grey is very bonded and jealous of people near me, so not sure how he would be with another bird.
Yeah that's a difficult one. We were okay with ours as there's only 6 weeks of age between them so they've pretty much grown up together.

Woody was 12 weeks old and Ruby would’ve been around 18 weeks :)
Nathan and Emma I’m 13 and have autism and I really want one of these and I’m trying to save up and I’ve researched for 3 year’s about africain greys do u think it’s right for me I’ve never owned one before and when I come back from school I’ll spend all day with it
Hi, that’s a very difficult question for us to answer. Maybe it’s a discussion to have with your parents :)
Assault Bacon i dont reccommend one for you. If ur parentes aren’t willing to pay for all the toys, cages, foods,etc needs and when u leave for college or whatever there willing to keep the bird or not. Also I recommend waiting until ur sure ur not gonna move anywhere anytime soon. Also u can’t go to vacations or holidays unless u wanna pay a bird sitter. Overall I don’t recommend one for teenagers
