I love this game. I am 60 and have been playing video games (in one form or another) for almost 40 years. Most of the past decade I have spent trying to play Sims 4 as a medieval farming sim so when I discovered this game I was totally made up (British expression meaning chuffed as fuck). I am old and decrepit so my reflexes are not good and I kept dying but the option to lower both hp and damage done of animals and bandits has helped enormously. I have restarted a few times and currently have 2 games on the go. One is straight forward but the other I played as "true to life" as I could (especially as my guy is basically superman with the difficulty turned down). For the first year and a half I had him living rough hunting and camping while checking out the abandoned buildings and slaying bandits. The next year I had him build up his farm and start chatting up the ladies. He is now married with a son and has 6 other people living in his village. This time I have settled half way between Skauki and Klonica near the mine but on the riverbank. It is the only game I play where I take screenshots and I even have it as my pc background. If I ever win the lottery I will buy some land and set up my own medieval village (except, you know, with electricity so I can play games!) xxxx
Me too, my story is much the same as yours, been a gamer since the 1980s, 70 next year! Im certain that playing video games has kept my hand eye coordination, and brain speed in good nick! I balance sedentary gaming with walking and light weights and a weekly game of golf!
@@NannyOggins A Pratchett fan!? Who also games and is near my age!!?? Will you be my friend cos no-one I know plays games and I would love to have someone to co-op with? I am Bespelargic (nod to Pratchett) on Steam or Accidentalluddite if Bes doesn't show up. I have Raft, BG3, Medieval Dynasty and a few others that can be played with others and am willing to buy more to try. xxx
Love your play through you personally inspired me to try starting my own channel not do so hot yet but hopefully in the future. Thank you for the inspiration
Small tip for anyone having trouble with time management while getting started, for the first season or two setting the day limit to 10-12 can really help with getting a solid foundation established. I personally do this then switch back to 4 days after the summer, this way it gives me plenty of time to get some solid money to buy seeds and fertilizer as well as get all of my fields ready/planted/harvested without needing extra help.
This video is a prime demonstration of why I have a strict personal rule against stealing in this game; it makes the earlygame a bit TOO easy past the point where it's fun. But YMMV of course.
Nobody is making you steal 😬 I made a poll asking the viewers, and they voted for it. Just go to the abandoned buildings, and you'll get plenty of starter money
If you want the "best start" then yes. You can skip stealing and just go to the abandoned buildings around the oxbow and still get a great start, but I wouldn't say its the best.
@@SirJayWalker I know there's some trophies for stealing, but I think its quicker to just b-line to a good build spot along the river and get your main buildings up. House, well, woodshed, house 2, field, back to town to recruit a +3 extraction worker, buy cabbage, plant cabbage.
@Bateluer assuming you're on default settings, you won't have enough building tech for a woodshed after house 1 and a well. You may build things quicker, but you should still loot abandoned buildings so you can get your pouch and backpack. The extra change along the way will help a lot if you need raw resources, seeds, potions, etc.
@@SirJayWalker Might have been a resource storage 1 in there before the woodshed, but I do normally play on the default settings. I usually start looting abandoned buildings on day 2, but I want a field operational as soon as possible.
New to the game here 👋 How’d you remove the rock to be able to place your field? I’ve struggled building where I want due to little rocks I can’t pick up or mine
Can anyone please tell me what the game is, that holds the music which starts at @3.25, i whistle that tune on a regular morning at work to myself but i cant figure what game it is, i use to think it was stronghold 2 but im starting to think otherwise (ive looked before to no avail) i cannot believe its proped up on one of your videos sirjay! Well im not suprised maybe but still 😅 oh my god! Ive looked for this for years 😂 please someone have my answer
@@SirJayWalker thanks jay! I thought I had looked through the stronghold soundtrack.... not well enough evidently 🤦♂️ haha that was such a fond memory 🤎

I'll move into your Medieval Village if you win the lottery 😄 glad you're enjoying Medieval Dynasty!

My journey awaits when you do 😊
Too funny, I am 67
I am so happy that co op came to Console today
Me too 😀
Can you co-op across platforms? Like console and PC together?
@@deborahr113 the update added crossplay so you should be able to
We can’t share worlds! Sucks that the host has to be active...
What? Co-op on console?
YESS!! I've been waiting for more MD content from you!! :D :D Excellent vod! Can't wait for the next episode!!
Thank you! Its in the works 🙂

Nice recap. It's such a great game. I'm looking forward to seeing more and, of course, trying to catch the lives!
Always happy to have you Kimberly 😊

Love u put the background music from old Stronghold 2 install setup :D
Love Stronghold 😀
Loaded up my game on xbox, only to see we have the oxbow update :) But how savage is that intro trailer lol
I forgot they added the trailer, I need to check that out...
i don't understand all you guys, in every video, stealing is the way to go. I don't want to steal.
Nobody is making you steal 😬 I made a poll asking the viewers, and they voted for it. Just go to the abandoned buildings, and you'll get plenty of starter money
Yeah, me too. Made it great!
And then picking up sticks around Ostoya, I accidentally grabbed something unseen. & got busted too! Doh.
Here's something you don't know, we're all (secretly) Romanian 😄
Thanjs Sir Jay ..Wanting see the new updates tonite.. do wish they would expand character creation
Yea, some new hairstyles and a barber would be a cool addition
Which map do you like better? Do you like orchards?
Do you prefer to make money through hunting , sewing, mining, or farming
The valley is my favorite, orchards are cool for decorating and filling space so I like them, and I prefer making money through farming!
Love this.
Thanks!
When ep2? :)
Have they deleted the stuff in the attic at the beginning? Joined my GF session and it's not there?
I don't think so.. maybe she grabbed them before you? start a new save and see if they're still there
Did they change how the cooking pot/cauldron works in houses? I no longer have one
I did notice that. It looks like u may have to use the kitchen now
@SirJayWalker My small little farmstead may need a new building then. Thanks, wasn't sure if I was missing something
16:37 you say as you pass a rabbit
Should run to next town and hunt on way for meet to make food and but wait until price Skill level 3 for over 600 extra coins.
So part of the best start is to steal everything that isn't nailed down?

They need to add mods support on all platforms like Skyrim has
Yes please 🙏
New to the game here 👋
How’d you remove the rock to be able to place your field? I’ve struggled building where I want due to little rocks I can’t pick up or mine
Some rocks can be removed by building a road or farm over it. Not all rocks can be removed, though
Nice oblivion soundtrack
I was just debating with myself whether it was Morrowind or Oblivion! I think you’re right though, Im getting Anvil vibes!
Hi i'm new to this channel, and i notice that this game graphics is really the same as elder scrolls oblivion or is it just me.😅
I can see the similarities now that you mention it 😆 Must be the medieval fantasy vibe

❤❤❤❤
I don't like the stealing
I don’t mind it, but I find it get to be too much
it's not required, It just gives you a little boost! 🙂
I stole from Derwen and felt so bad I replaced the items when I got the money! 😂
@@NannyOggins 😂😂😂
We should start together !
Really I like the idea, I have never played with a stranger. In which country do you live?
You are turning away all real players by showing it in noob 3:rd person for the noob PlayStation and Xbox players?
How do mention certain things like the abandoned camp, but dont point out where it is
Camps move season to season. Some have bandits.
Abandoned houses are along the roads. They look decayed. A few have bandits in them, too.
Just found this game; thanks for this!! 🫶🏻🍻💥
Anytime 🙂
