In Mahabharata, lord Krishna said that traditions of life will change with time and righteousness of the time . We may not need to follow the same steps our ancestors followed; living life to get married and having children, that may be a requirement before but now due to increase in number of orphaned children and animals with population explosion, parenthood can be enjoyed with adoption. Yes agreed... marriage nowadays has just became a dogma which most of the population are blindly following. But with changing times and seeing the current state of our planet we should take our decision consciously. But we Indians are emotionally driven and we feel devastated if any couple decide not to bring a life, or get married with least resources wasted, or even if someone doesn't want to get into the institution of marriage.

Your argument about population explosion seems a bit incorrect. Population scientists have now determined that the world's population will be capped at 10 Billion i.e. it cannot go beyond 10 Billion.
