Hi Robin. Thank you for such a wonderful and respectful discussion. I would want to add a few things: 1st is that Islam has a lot of schools of thought. Basically these are different interpretations (not contradictory) of the same thing. Qurbani or animal sacrifice is considered farz or obligatory in some schools of thought, and not farz in some others. Which is why you may get different answers feom different Muslims. Secondly, it comes down to how much we as individuals are able to accept a changing world. The other guy in the video who mentioned ki ab waqt alag hai aur khaane mei itni kami nahi hai (something in those lines) is able to understand ki 7th century AD aur 21st century mei zamana badla hai. In general Arabia was a desert and the whole approach to life in a desert would be different from a largely fertile land such as India. To this I'd like to mention something I learnt recently... in fact, Huzur ke zamane mei bhi meat was NOT the primary source of food. It was still a luxury coz animals were quite a currency in those days. Even Huzur ate more of legumes and other plant based products which were available. I heard it in a talk by Sheikh Timothy Winters . This Sheikh is a Sufi. (So you see how schools of thought have a bearing on your take at different things). Sheikh Tim also mentions how the ill treatment of animals while they are growing make the whole meat industry more haram than halal. You must have seen Muslims who dont eat meat outside coz they are not sure if the animal was slaughtered Islamically. The fact is that they must also check how even the halal slaughtered animals were grown.
And finally something more specific to India..kyuki we associate vegetarianism with Hindus, there is an automatic association of non vegetarianism with Muslims, both in the minds of Hindus and in the minds of Muslims. So much so that if a Muslim says ki they are a vegetarian, he or she is not believed and they get a quick response of kyuuu tum toh Muslim ho.

First time i understand the concept of qurbani ( त्याग शांति अनंतरम् ). If someone is ready to sacrifice his beloved one ( person/animal/thing) it can be a great quality which will give him true peace & relieve from bondages [ but due to misinterpretation of such great teachings Hindu's & Muslims are still in darkness

The history of Qurbani begins with Prophet Ibrahim (AS) having a dream in which he was asked by Allah (SWT) to sacrifice his son Ismail (AS). This was a test of love and submission towards Allah (SWT), and Prophet Ibrahim (AS) did not hesitate to obey. He prepared himself and his son for the sacrifice, and as they reached Mount Arafat, he described his dream to his son, who echoed his father’s beliefs and agreed to the sacrifice.
Just as Prophet Ibrahim (AS) was about to slaughter his son, Allah (SWT) replaced Ismail (AS) with a ram, and Prophet Ibrahim (AS) slaughtered the animal instead. This act of obedience and devotion to Allah (SWT) is a testament to the unwavering faith and commitment of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and his son Ismail (AS).

2=सुनन इब्न माजा से हदीस:ज़ैद बिन अरक़म (रजि.) से रिवायत है: "नबी (सल्लल्लाहु अलैहि व सल्लम) के सहाबा ने कहा: 'ऐ अल्लाह के रसूल, यह क़ुर्बानी क्या है?' उन्होंने कहा: 'यह तुम्हारे पिता इब्राहीम की सुन्नत है।' उन्होंने कहा: 'हमें इसमें क्या मिलेगा, ऐ अल्लाह के रसूल?' उन्होंने कहा: 'हर बाल के बदले में एक नेकी है।' उन्होंने कहा: 'ऐ अल्लाह के रसूल, ऊन के बारे में क्या?' उन्होंने कहा: 'हर ऊन के बाल के बदले में एक नेकी है।'" (सुनन इब्न माजा, खंड 4, किताब 26, हदीस 3127).
3=जामिअ अत-तिरमिज़ी से हदीस:आयशा (रजि.) से रिवायत है: "अल्लाह के रसूल (सल्लल्लाहु अलैहि व सल्लम) ने कहा: 'क़ुर्बानी के दिनों में अल्लाह को जानवरों की बलि से बढ़कर कोई चीज़ प्यारी नहीं है। क़ुर्बान किया हुआ जानवर क़ियामत के दिन अपने सींग, बाल और खुर लेकर आएगा (तौलने के लिए)। खून ज़मीन पर गिरने से पहले ही क़ुर्बानी अल्लाह द्वारा स्वीकार कर ली जाती है। इसलिए, खुली और खुश दिल से क़ुर्बानी करो।'" (जामिअ अत-तिरमिज़ी, खंड 3, किताब 15, हदीस 1493)

India is among the top 5 beef exporters in the world.According to a Pew Research Center survey, 44% of Hindus say they are vegetarian. This means 56% of Hindus are non veg. There is a festival of bali in Hinduism. There are about 1000 stores of kfc in India. And there are about 300 stores of macdonald in India. These companies are not owned by any Muslim. Let's keep every animal aside only pork makes 39% of world's meat consumption. But Muslims don't eat pork then who eats. Did you ever protested against these companies who are slaughtering animals 24/7 365 days for their profit. It's not about love for animals. It's about hate against a specific festival.

में 25 साल का हु और हिंदू हु बिना mas ke sevan ke 25 साल जी चुका हु और आगे भी ऐसी ही नियत रखता हु ...धर्म के नाम पर ये aadmabar मुझे समझ नही आता ....पहले इंसान खेती नही करता था इसलिए वो मांसाहारी जानवरों को देख कर मांस खाता था लेकिन आज कल का इंसान समझदार और पढ़ा लिखा है...उसे ऐसे पाखंड करना गलत है

धर्म की बात अगर हम खत्म कर देते हैं मगर फिर भी अगर हम साइंटिफिकली बात करें तो इंसान का इवोल्यूशन हमें बताता है की इंसान नेचुरली एक सर्वाहारी जानवर होता है, इंसान के ब्रेन डेवलपमेंट के लिए जितनी एनर्जी की ज़रूरत उतनी हम शाकाहारी होकर पा नही सकते और दूसरी बात प्लांट के सेलूलोज हमारा शरीर पचा नहीं सकता, जो सारे शाकाहारी जानवर पचाते तो ये हमें बताता है हम शाकाहारी हैं

@@kuma2910 भाई तुम इवोल्यूशन समझते हो? पूरी Species की बात कर रहा हूं इंडिविजुअल की नहीं, और इवोल्यूशन में लाखो करोड़ो साल लगते हैं। हमारी बॉडी में सेलुलोस जो की प्लांट फूड का एक जरूरी हिस्सा होता उसे पचाने की क्षमता नहीं होती है जबकि सारे शाकाहारी जानवर उसे पचा सकते हैं और हमारा डाइजेस्टिव सिस्टम भी शाकाहारी जानवरों से बिलकुल अलग होता है । ये मसाहरी जानवर के ज्यादा करीब है। जैसे बड़े शाकाहारी जीव के पेट में 4 चेंबर होते हैं, हमारे नहीं होते। कोई ऐसा न्यूट्रिएंट नही होता जो शहरी जानवर प्लांट से नहीं ले सकते मगर ऐसे कई न्यूट्रिएंट्स है जो हम प्लांट सोर्स से ले नही सकते और दूसरी बात हमारा शरीर एक अच्छा प्लांट खाने वाला नही हैं हम एक क्रॉप का केवल 10 से 20% हिस्सा ही खा सकते हैं

I don't hate any particular community as i have several muslim friends ..and they're the nicest humans I've met.. (they're vegan..and kind)
So my recommendations are based on what I've seen em do...
1) donate some money to the charity.. (that would be a selfless act..and a sacrifice that allah wpuld definitely approve of)..
2) donate your blood and help real humans... What could be better than that..
3) feed the poor (someone who can't afford to buy food) or buy em a week's worth of food...
4) volunteer (and sacrifice some of your time) in a ngo..
5) sacrifice your greed and don't buy anything ypu do not need... And put that money to some good selfless use..

Sacrifice means kurbani comes from Prophet Abraham (peace and blessings be upon him) Quran states when he saw a dream he is slaughtering his son ishmael then he wants to make his dream true because it was from God so he he told his son i see a dream that i am slaughtering you, son said i will obey you if Allah wills , then he prepared to salughter his own son when he started slaughtering him suddenly changed his son and slaughtered a camel so Allah said o Abraham you made your dream true , So its obligatory for a muslim to scarifice if he has ability to buy and sacrifice animal, it means he is scarifying his loving animal which used to pet for the sake of God it means he love god more has more piety and can sacrifice anything for him if he orders. Rama - The Carnivorous Hindu God
According to the Valmiki Ramayana, Rama was a carnivore.
“Having hunted there four deer, namely Varaaha, Rishya, Prisata; and Mahaaruru (the four principal species of deer) and taking quickly the portions that were pure, being hungry as they were, Rama and Lakshmana reached a tree to take rest in the evening.” (Ayodhya Kanda 2-52-102 )
Thereafter having travelled only a couple of miles the two brothers Rama and Lakshmana killed many consecrated deer and ate in the river-forest of Yamuna. (Ayodhya Kanda 2-55-32/33 )
Having shown Mandakini River in that manner to Seetha, the daughter of Mithila, Rama set on the hill-side in order to gratify her appetite with a piece of flesh. Rama, whose mind was devoted to righteousness stayed there with Seetha, saying; "This meat is fresh, this is savoury and roasted in the fire." (Ayodhya Kanda 2-96-1/2 )
Raghava then on killing another spotted deer and on taking its flesh, he hurried himself towards Janasthaana. (Aranya Kanda 3-44-27 )
[Sita to Ravana] "Be comfortable for a moment, here it is possible for you to make a sojourn, and soon my husband will be coming on taking plentiful forest produce, and on killing stags, mongooses, wild boars he fetches meat, aplenty. (Aranya Kanda 3-47-23 )
[Kabandha to Rama] "Thereabout birds will be unflustered on seeing humans, because they are artless to avoid hunting, because none kills them, and you may savour them because those birds will be best and burley, similar to ghee-gobs. "Oh, Rama in that Pampa Lake there are best fishes, red-carps, and blunt-snouted small porpoises, and a sort of sprats, which are neither scraggy, nor with many fish-bones. Lakshmana will reverentially offer them to you on skewering them with arrow, and on broiling them on iron rod of arrow after descaling and de-finning them. While you eat those fishes to satiety, Lakshmana will offer you the water of Pampa Lake, which will be in the bunches of flowers of that lake, and which will be lotus-scented, pellucid, comfortably cool, shiny like silver and crystal, uncontaminated and that way pristine, by lifting it up that water with lotus leaf, making that leaf a stoup-like basin... (Aranya Kanda 3-73-13/17 [3-73-16b, 17, 18a])
Sacrifices were made during ceremonies as seen below:
[Purifactory ceremony] Seeing that hut, which was firmly built and thatched as well as beautiful to look at, Rama spoke the following words to Lakshmana who listened to his command and who was closely attentive to him: "Oh, Lakshmana! Bring the meat of an antelope. We shall perform a purifactory ceremony while entering the house. Which is to be done by those who wish to live long. Oh, large-eyed Lakshmana! Killing the antelope quickly, bring it here. The prescribed rite according to scriptural point of view indeed is to be performed. Keep in mind the sacred obligation." Lakshmana the slayer of enemies, understanding his brother's words, acted as instructed. Rama spoke again to Lakshmana as follows: "Oh, gentle brother! Boil this antelope's meat. We shall worship the leaf-hut. This day and this instant also are of a distinctive character. Be quick." Then, Lakshmana the strong man and son of Sumitra, killing a holy back antelope, tossed it in an ignited fire. Feeling certain that it is cooked and heated thoroughly with no blood remaining, Lakshmana spoke to Rama the lion among man as follows: "This black antelope, with its complete limbs, has been cooked completely by me. Oh, Rama resembling God! Worship the concerned deity, as you are skilled in that act." (Ayodhya Kanda 2-56-21/28 )
[Jatayu's funderal] Then that resolute Rama on going into forest along with Soumitri hunted a robust-bodied, big Rohi animal, or, Kesari animal, and then he spread sacred grass on ground to place that offering to the deceased soul of that bird. On drawing up the flesh of that Rohi animal and lumping it to gobbets, that highly observant Rama placed those gobbets on pleasant greenish pasturelands as obsequial offerings in respect of that bird Jataayu. (Aranya Kanda 3-68-32/33 )
