    Thanks this was very helpful! Needing to melt Gold and pour into small cross molds so tested my mapp gas on some copper and it could not do it. was only reaching 1650 degrees per laser thermometer. Need Oxygen and this touch it seems. Well, then I can do all kinds of art, cutting, welding, jewelry making.. Ouch! Pricy

    It works great if you can get one made in the USA. Witch they don't do anymore. My torch worked great for welding 035 4130 steel tube .

    I like using my jewelry shop's hydrogen torch. In my home workshop I run oxy-acetylene.

    i thought oxy propane runs hotter than oxy ace according to every welder on earth

      A quick google search shows results saying acetylene has a hotter flame than propane, however propane has a higher BTU value. So, it probably depends on what someone means when they say it runs hotter.
