That kinda "coyote brown" construction worker clothing blends in pretty good and also lets you walk through town without any strange looks. A blue-collar worker looks at home anywhere too; he could be walking though a fancy hotel and people will think he's doing some renovations there.

If you're wearing matching Crye gear out in the sticks where some of us live, you're gonna stick out if spotted. Most folks out here will be wearing whatever Realtree, Mossy Oak, or KUIU camo pattern is in play for the season in the AO. Heck, half of them could be rocking a Veil Whitetail or Mossy Oak Bottomlands jacket over their brown work-faded Carhartt overalls and they won't stick out in the woods or in the middle of town.
Im rocking multicam topic on the gulf coast in the swamps and wetlands. I switch to atacs-fg in the fall. My kit is multicam except for my ruck. Face paint is a must your head is the most easy thing to spot as our brain is trained to recognize faces you can run a veil if you don't want to deal with face paint.
Short summery: When attempting to be stealthy during the day time you’re trying to defeat the enemy’s ability to spot you. At night you’re trying to defeat the enemy’s ability to hear you moving.
People always go with the military camos when in reality the hunting companies have put in the work over the yrs no mil spec camo pattern can compete with realtree ,mossy oak breakup etc.i can straight up disappear in the woods with my hunting camos facts 💯💪🔥
Military camo is designed to work in a wide range of environments. Hunting camo is extremely specific to a given environment. Hunting camo also does not take into consideration IR signature like military camo.
@@GunpowderNitro you have poor reading comprehension skills. ACU actually is good for urban, snowy, and rocky environments like granite mountains. Also every fed has dual tube NODs and hunt at night.
Face paint. My camouflage of choice is Sumrak (Russian, looks kind of like CADPAT but with patches of black and white TV static). It blends in well with dead underbrush, tree bark, rock outcrops, lichens and emergent grass.
Some areas vary a lot. You can have the beach, forest, urban, and rural, all within a few miles of each other. Black is neutral enough to get by with across multiple settings.
I go by local area which season - wet/dry(subdued matte or bright "glossy" )and then judge the best by "fore/aft/under" (in front of background/IN the background/in the underbrush, tall grass or branches). DONT underestimate hunting/civilian patterns (not for actual military units) they can be🤌
i have multipule types of camo to adapt to whatever situation i find myself in. im currently in desert so i use a lot of coyote and desert cam. also have all kinds of cans of paint and tape around also i like to make stencils of surrounding bush/etc to transfer easily to my gear.
I learned everything I need to know about camouflage from JP the goth vampire robot enthusiast in Grandma’s Boy. All you have to do is wear a black leather trench coat and you will become invisible at will just by covering your face with the collar. Also in South Florida it’s a Vietnam Tiger stripe shirt and blue jeans all day.
I love black multicam as like a color. I have a couple pieces of gear in it for fun. But I'm a woodland, coyote brown, od green guy for most stuff so far. I'm in the process of getting multicam gear now since woodland makes me look old as I am. And yes facepaint please.
I live in the middle of suburbia between Philadelphia and Trenton where deep woods are hard to come by so never been drawn to a specific camo other than multicam tropic my deal would be to try to blend in as much as possible while breaking up my silhouette
Your thoughts on ranger green & multicam black in urban environments for SHTF & bugout. Many are buying plate carriers like K19 & K zero in that color now 😀
do the face paint video! only got to learn very little from boot camp. Multicam black is cool but thats really it imo. my environment is generally green bushland with brown dirt and small brown trees. I say m81 woodland is a good start for my camo environment. secondary would either be multicam or ranger green, not sure yet.
Multicam Black is not for camouflage, it was designed as anti-camoflage. It was to help SWAT teams stand out when raiding Narco houses since they've been adopting blackout kits. Same as IDF ranger green. MCB can blend into war torn urban environments once dirty though not as good as others.
They should make more gear with mossy oak or realtree for civilians. I've had people walk by within 15 feet of me while rocking my hunting camo and they never knew I was there lol
Ranger green, cayote brown and muticam will cover you for just about any environment imaginable. M81 and flecktarn are also a vibe. Hell, get anything dirty enough it will blend in (ugly ass ACU pattern mid ftx comes to mind). Black or multicam black (no matter how cool mc black is) stands out like a sore thumb. All that to say, get your shit some use (a little dirt and and fading do wonders). Camouflage is cool but decent concealment and/or movement techniques will do wonders for you even if your favorite camo pattern isn't ideal for your environment.
You do resemble a shady side of a tree trunk in MC Blk. Just don't move. You're from KS, yeah? My crew has gone to M81 and ERDL (leaf). I'm a big fan of Frogskin Bottoms, with that on top. The word you were looking for is scrim. I'm concerned that from a distance, Multi/M81/Leaf all look too similar. The Frog Beach/Jungle bottoms, really blend in with our AO ground cover.
I think people are missing the point of why MCB was created. Urban LE Tac Teams. SWAT generally doesn’t have to hide to approach a location. They roll up in armored vehicles with POLICE plastered all over them. For LE, it’s a benefit for them to be able to say they were wearing VERY identifiable clothing/gear so the bad guys and girls were made very aware of who they were interacting with. Snipers are generally the only members of an urban team who may opt to wear ACTUAL CAMO such as Multicam if the situation calls for it. TLDR: It’s meant to make SWAT stand out from patrol, but still not look like overly militaristic. It’s not intended to be used as camoflauge.
@@Part.No.1xbil.Prod.Tp.MXMVIII Never said cover yourself in full black. I said it blends better on average in all environments and it does. Sorry if you disagree.
There are certain communist organizations out there that are known to wear all black. Sometimes looking like them can be beneficial. Kinda like how some MACV-SOG units wore Black uniforms to look like the Vietcong. They also wore NVA uniforms.
I always laughed at people buying multicam black... black isn't a natural color. And it stands out in every situation where you are trying to use camouflage
There have been documented cases of friendly fire with Russian a Ukrainian forces because their uniforms are wow similar. Something like the Marines camo may work better.

And making you literally die because of how much it sticks out under nods

Wasn't multicam black designed specifically to stand out and look intimidating? Thought I remember hearing that somewhere.
That’s correct. Multicam advertises it as an intimidation and identification camo for law enforcement and special operations units
Just like with blue Tiger stripe sometimes it's nice just to look cool.
I think I would die within a hour in multi cam black in Arizona in middle of summer.
With MC Black, your body is just about to reach the same temperature than some Japanese cities in 1945 😂
I remember the old BDU camo with face paint being really hard to see at Fort Jackson summer of 2004.
