Helikon really gets much more cheaper than Tru-Sec or Crye Precision here in Europe, because it is a Polish brand(even though the clothes are made in China, but they ship from Poland)
If you're in Europe, Helikon is a really good for the price you pay. I would also recommend Varusteleka's Särmä TST line if you want good quality for a decent price. They usually just make their stuff in green or the Finnish M05 though, so if you're looking for things in other patterns/colors, look elsewhere.
David S. Helikon also has another company Direct Action Gear which is made in Poland and is top quality. I have several set ups with Direct Action Gear.
GROM is the name of a Polish special unit which is equivalent to Delta Force or SEALs. GROM Special Unit has repeatedly cooperated with American special units in Iraq and Afghanistan. The name comes from the word GROM which means THUNDER and CamoGROM was produced for this particular unit. Greetings from Poland
Always enjoy watching your videos. My buddy just retired from the National Guard 28 years of service. And he gave me so much camo I'll never run out. He told me to wear it and be proud !!
I went to Ebay, OCP/Scorpion uniform...*much* cheaper (like $20-30). AND, the last OCP/Scorpion trousers I bought came with 3 $1.00 bill, a nickle and a penny; 5 fig-newton wrappers and 4 "Hand receipt/Annex Number" check-out forms for four individuals...for AN/PVS14s! I sure wish they would have been hidden in the pockets!!
There are many multicam clones out there. ATP from invader Gear, multitarn from Mil tec. Not so good MFH Operation camo. No fade in it. Greetings from Berlin Germany.
Theres an issued gerber that we fit into those pockets. they will usually have a retention cord inside the pocket that you can tie into it. what usually ends up happening though is guys will cut a slit into that pocket to clip your knife into that pocket
Good Day. Multicam vs Camogrom patern. Camogrom more green than brown. Multicam more brown. Camogrom have long green zones. Multicam have multi brown zones.
Hey Wiggy, do you think that full-fledged camo is still relevant today for military use? I mean, with all of the electronic viewing devices available today like FLIR, night vision and radars etc, does actual camo help troops as opposed to say plain straight OD green, light tan, grey and black? I feel like no, but like to know other peoples opinions on it.
That's a big question and way above my pay grade, lol, but I'll give my 2 cents as I see it. There's a few big things to point out; One is that the modern battlefield is largely urban, and our enemies have been successful at camouflage by blending in with the civilian population rather than the scenery. And two, even though we have a great deal of high technology to help see people, that technology is almost never fully applied in an appreciable way by our usual enemies, but even if it were, it's not perfect and still has many limitations that can lead to it being exploited or non-effective due to terrain, foliage or other environmental features. Our most effective means for war fighting are mechanized, (vehicles, tanks, aircraft, drones) and because of that, camo has little effect for the most part. We see how effective the Army has been with the UCP camo, the USAF with the ABU, and the Navy with the NWU (Type I) even though they don't blend it with much of anything. But, wars can't be won from the air, or from a vehicle, and at some point you have to put boots on the ground, and for those people, camo can become import if the theater is suburban or rural. So in short, I'd say that camo is a low technology, like a knife or a handgun, and one that fewer people in the modern military really need now (I remember USAF General Jumper saying that only about 4% of the Air Force had an AFSC that required camouflage, and that was probably back in 2005), but it hasn't been replaced by high technology yet (just like how we still issue knives and handguns). So, I believe in large part, you're right. But I also think that it still has a place, even if it is much smaller than it once was, it can't be taken our of the equation completely.
@@WiggysWilderness Current events on the Polish-Belarusian border show that camouflage uniforms can be used for disinformation and sabotage purposes. The Belarusian government has attracted large numbers of economic immigrants to the Middle East. Under the pretext of low temperature, some of these men received jackets in Soviet / Russian "beryozka" camouflage from military warehouses. There are many aggressive Asians in uniform in the attacking, destroying and crossing the border defenses. And between them the representation of Belarusian special units. The Polish Army does not open fire, because it is not known whether they are soldiers or disguised civilians.
Amazon. Normally I stick with Propper or TruSpec, but they rarely have my size in the patterns I want, and when I do find them, they're really expensive.
i would think you would want bright colors{orange, yellow etc}so lost folks could see you and trackers can see each other.though i do understand meth heads can be sketchy.
We track as small 5 man teams in a fairly tight formation, so we have no trouble seeing each other. It's mainly grid searchers who like the bright colors.
I am assuming you are tracking someone who does not want to be found? If you are seeking a child, you need to wear the brightest colors you can buy, odds are, they will see you before you see them. Folks want to wear camo because they want to be "Military" when they are not! :)
We do a mixture of tactical and search and rescue tracking. If you need to be high visibility then it's easy to throw on a bright vest. If you start with high visibility clothing and find out half way through your search that you need to blend in, it's not so easy to cover things up on the fly.

The camo in the duck weed field, even after you pointed it out,, I never seen it until you were right on it. Glad you're back to making videos

The pocket is for a rescue knife just for aviation. You’ll see the same pocket on flight suits.
The pocket is usually for a strap cutter or other tool. The small hole is to tie it off to you pants
That makes sense, thanks!
Not a problem sir
Helikon now only uses the offical “Multicam” now.

Welcome back wiggy's I miss your outdoors show I hoping to see a muzzleloader show something you don't see on TV. God bless Man keep up the good work
I’m still trying to put together a OCP camo suite for hunting.
I've heard that jet fighter pilots use catheters when on a mission, so this long pocket can be for that, idk
Its a knife pocket. Should be a small string attached so you can pull the knife out easily.
Good Day. Multicam vs Camogrom patern. Camogrom more green than brown. Multicam more brown. Camogrom have long green zones. Multicam have multi brown zones.
Hello Wiggy this is Byron Provencial from South Dakota I have been watching your videos for many years Thank you god bless you and your family.

Great video man
Thanks for sharing
I think that long pocket in the shorts might be for a ruler
its for an egress tool
Where are you finding the camogrom???

Thanks I’ll check those out. I have been wanting to get some of that pattern.
You can always buy on the official manufacturer's website. Greetings from Poland

The multicam has vertical lines that’s how you can tell if it’s multicam or not bc they are the only ones that has the lines
👍🤠
I bought this for hobby/airsoft use in the UK and, frankly, if someone can spot those sort of differences, then your camo has pretty much failed :P
Always carry an AR-15 !!!
マニアックで良いね👍
“It’s a completely different things” no it’s not.
