    Once again you’re my stitchy inspiration! I kept looking on eBay and in less than 2 wks, one popped up! $29 free shipping! I ❤️ a great bargain and this one is so practical too! So glad I saw this video bc I would’ve never been able to put it together! Thanks Danielle!

    This Elan is first generation, so it must be 20 years old! The new ones are almost identical, but the clamp has been redesigned to hold a wider variety of fabric frame. I believe you have the inherent ability to make a good video.

    Its almost like a miniature Lowry stand, I have one and just love it. My shoulders and arms don't get so sore now. Love it. I need to get a lap stand as I am travelling to South Africa in July and will need one while I am there. (For 3 months) ! Thanks for showing it !

    I’ve had mine for about 12 years now and use it exclusively for my stitching with qsnaps. You definitely need the qnsap adapter to make sure it holds them snug
    Love this stand

    The good news is this video finally made me get off the fence about a lap stand. The bad news is in 10 minutes I was on the Artisan Design website, on which I spent $295 plus change. Ordered the lap/table stand and every size scroll bar and side bar they make. Thanks loads Danielle!!! 😂😂

    Thank you for sharing your new toy with us, Danielle! Looks like you found the deal of the century. I purchased a lap stand last year, and find it to be more aggravating than helpful. Your new stand looks like it would be much more useful than the one I purchased. Enjoy and thank you again for sharing!

      I had a needlework store in NY. About 40 yrs ago. I kept all 9 cabinets of floss. DH wouldn’t let me keep any more. Also kept all my Lanarte charts. I never used the linen that came in the kit couldn’t see that small used even weave. I have all the frames of this system and the floor frame never got the lap.

    First off, I love your videos, you don’t mince, you say how something works and how YOU use it. I appreciate that. I’ve only recently started needle working. I was done in by the magnificence of Crewel work and had to learn. I’m teaching myself with the help of people like you. My secret society of helpful Mom’s, sisters and even a dad and bro in there for good measure. I am guy, so it’s nice to see another male, but ultimately unimportant. But yours are the vids I come back to most of all. When I need a stand (I’ve needed one now for, well, ever...it’s tricky tho! With a handful of needlework shops even in my area to start with and team that now with everyone closed, there is no tangibility, but see, then... there is you. You’re my tangibility sister! Ever been that before? Haha) or any kind of accessory or lighting question, I come to you. ** Sorry this was so long, the point of my thesis is simply: thank you. :)

    the old ones didn't have a knob there, my floor frame has a wing nut, but what is does have is a little piece of plastic tubing that goes over the screw so it doesn't fall out. On the floor model the 30" makes it tilt a little.

    I have just ordered the lap stand. I am working on a HAED and I’m going to use a hoop to work on small sections at a time so that I can see it up close. Has anyone had concerns about this stand shifting around on lap as they work on their designs? Thank you for a great video! 😊

    When you tighten down the wooden holders when using a q snap frame doesn’t the plastic cover slide back to front? I do punch needle and when I put the q snap in and start punching the bar cover automatically moves back and forth. Don’t know how else to describe it.

  • @janmiller9702
    @janmiller9702 6 лет назад

    I've owned & used the Elan since early 2000's ... best to-go lap stand ... just a gentle hint for ease of operation - the large wooden washer is placed between the upright & the clamp head itself so the knobs on scroll rods can be turned to the backside to finish you thread + using metal washers where the upright attaches to the base will keep it stationary as opposed to constantly moving back or forward ... I did purchase the v-clamp jaws ... good investment but using a round jar-opening rubber widget works wonders, too!!! Question to you ... how does a person put in 'ongoing 'search' for specific item(s) on Ebay ... if already shown in previous video, just let me know as Pam & Steph also spoke of this ... thanks in advance ...

    • @Stitcherista
      @Stitcherista  6 лет назад

      Jan Miller if you do a search on eBay for something, when it brings up your search there should be something at the top that says "save this search" and then you click on that and it will give you the option of getting emailed every time a new item within your search parameters comes up.

    • @janmiller9702
      @janmiller9702 6 лет назад

      Thank you for explaining that - pretty easy peasy for this ole gal ... I haven't used Ebay that much but am 'on the hunt' for OOP chart ... thanks a bunch for all your hard work & uploading a pootload of FUN stuff ... you're definitely entertaining!!!!!!!

    I have the lap/table stand but where do you put your pattern? How do you deal with patterns that are so small?

    • @Stitcherista
      @Stitcherista  5 лет назад +1

      I will fold up my pattern to the spot I am working on and will attach it to my fabric with a needleminder.

    • @thestitchinglane737
      @thestitchinglane737 5 лет назад

      Awesome!! Thank you for your quick response. I'm working on a piece that is probably about 24 - 30 inches wide. The pattern is so small that it is hard to keep track of where you are. I think I'm going to try to make a copy of the section I am working on and the blow it up so that I can see it better. And then I can attach to my pattern to my wip with a needleminder and not mess up my original pattern.

    Does it balance well on your lap? I mean when you're stitching it doesn't push forward? Also I'm worried about it holding still in tte position you have it? If yuu can flip it to the back, what prevents it from constantly pushing forward?

    • @Stitcherista
      @Stitcherista  2 года назад

      It does balance well. It doesn't push forward. Sometimes you have to tighten the knows again.

  • @sarahgreiner2694
    @sarahgreiner2694 6 лет назад

    If I sat at a table on a regular basis, I'd be pretty tempted to get this, it looks really nice. Most of the time, I sit on my bed or on a soft chair, usually with my legs folded up. Which I would guess wouldn't be good with this sort of lap stand. Maybe if it went under a leg, I might be able to use it (my lap has never been the sort to let me put something on there and it stay - usually gravity takes whatever it is lol).
    Even with all that, it is pretty and I just went "oooh I want that". Just like with that light you had reviewed and got from my mom for my birthday (which is totally going into the "the internet made me buy it" segment in my next video lol). Which was kind of neat seeing in this video - I went "heeeey I have that light . . . " lol

    • @Stitcherista
      @Stitcherista  6 лет назад

      I use this stand in my recliner and in bed every single night, and it sits on top of my legs. Now, I don't cross them, because then, no, that would not work. But I am so glad I got this stand! Because now I can work on any project anywhere. And I have taken this to a stitch meet up and it works great on a table also.

    Orbs? ! Not sure anyone noticed the Orbs flying around? If any of you believe in Orbs being Spirit Energy, there are some good examples on this video. I rewatched the video - here are some of the ones I saw (first one at 1:47/ 3:38 / 3:57 / 8:19 / 12:48 - the most prominent one is at 9:12 , it comes flying at the camera). There were "flashes" of a few throughout. Not really surprising as the Narrator has fantastic Energy herself! There might be more but I was distracted listening to the great information. Totally enjoyable & I'm SOLD! going to order one now :) Peace.
