I Got Detained At Kenya's Airport, They Thought I was Nigerian, all because an immigration officer saw me and thinks I look like a Nigerian and I had a green passport, he didnt have any idea that most countries in the world and the whole of West African states have green passports.
I was ask to go after 30mins of detention. I was fine and nothing happened to me, since then I have beene to Kenya so many times and i have had no issues with i mmigration.

Sorry that happened to you bro. but yeah this happens a *lot.* In some of these african countries you go to they don't like Nigerians or certain Africans from a particular african country. I believe you wode maya said the *same* thing a couple years ago he said that when he went to Kenya they were being mean to him because they thought he was Nigerian but when he finally told them that he was from ghana then they calmed down. A lot of Africans don't want to talk about this issue but this is a problem on the continent. Thank you for talking about it nappie

Just recently a very popular American Flight review RUclipsr called Sam Chui was Roughed up at JKIA because of his Camera. He ended up giving Kenya a very bad review. Koffi Olomide was once beaten up and deported at the same airport. And we have a Kenyan Politician called Miguna who was deported to Canada for having Canadian citizenship at the same airport.

But we need to also ask ourselves why the immigration departments of many countries view Nigerians with suspicion. In Kenya a number of them are responsible for drug trafficking and at one time kidnappings.. whenever a foreign drug trafficker is arrested in Kenya, the blame goes to immigration dept for letting them in.. that’s why they are so strict… look at Italy, there is a whole Nigerian Mafia operating there… Nigeria has created a bad rep for West Africa and Africa in general, they need to be called out as well

Africa won't unite. If a useless Kenyan immigration officer can't identify the names of countries written on the Passport simply mean they are working based on prejudice and lack of training. Ghana people, Kenyans, and all nationals do drugs. The issue might happen or did not happen in 2019, but if you decided to bring it here in almost mid- 2022, you have a baseless reason to do what you have done. Don"t mind this Ghanaian failed youtuber Nappie. He's being long enough in the youtube business and failed to make an impact now trying use Nigeria to resuscitate his woeful failure and branding Nigerian as bad to comfort for his failures. There are people like Malika Kenya that just started youtube yesterday that has more than his 21.8k subscribers. He should work on himself , subscribers don't like people with identity crisis. I saw the video he did in Uganda titled Uganda nightlife where dancing and drinking recklessly with girls. Did he thinks Ghanaians are saints. Here in Virginia State county jails in the USA, 98% of African inmates are Ghanaians thou some Ghanaians undocumented immigrant when busted in crimes claimed they are Nigerians becuase no papers to verify their nationality that was before, now America goverment are wise up . Ghanaians always wants to talk down on Nigeria but keep their eyes blind to Nigerian diasporas making waves in Medicine, Engineering, Sciences etc and making Africans proud in the US and Europe. Majority Ghana diasporas refuse to develop themselves prefers taking Certified Nursing Assistant , Security Guard , Truck driver's jobs while their Nigeria counterparts has vision to go to universities and earn degrees and take up cooperate jobs. Ghanaians crab spirit of pulling down Nigeria syndrome must stop. Have you ever heard of Ghanaian saying how Nigerians diasporas are making waves in many fields in Westesn Nations? You can't hear that from Ghanaians . All they say Nigeria are bad, scammars etc. Kweku Adoboli who defrauded HSBC Bank of 2billion in the UK in 2019 is he a Nigerian? The Ghanaian couple arrested in Virginia for scammimg US senior citizens to the turn of $1.5 millions February 2022 are they also Nigerians? As a Ghanaian, I personally did not have any issue travelling in East Africa. i was studying in Uganda and happened to make trips to Nairobi through the Busia border as well as by air when I was travelling to Mauritius, way back in 1997. I had friends in Eastley (Nairobi) where I stayed. My memorable experience in Tanzania was the day I arrived in Darelsalaam looking for a cheap hotel. The man i asked about hotels, surprisingly paid for my hotel and breakfast and asked someone to lead me to a station the next day to catch a coach to Malawi, where I was travelling to. Very nice people.
I grew up with Nigerians in Ghana, went to primary school and played football together, I never felt for once that they are not Ghanaians, even though when Ghana and Nigeria play a football match we tease each other and it ends there. I don't think Nappie was doing the video deliberately to talk down Nigeria, every country has good and bad people even in the most religious state of our contemporary society.

Many Africans suffered at Nairobi airport. Some of them detained simply because the are holding Western passport and they are black. The immigration don’t understand how an African would hold that kind of passport. There is a time Kenya airways had an offer for cheap fright from Cameroon to London. My friend a Cameroonian , Who is a born with a British passport, took advantage and bought a ticket to London which the flight had to go through Nairobi Airport. At Nairobi AirPort she was not allowed to board her fright to London, because the airline did not believe her that she was British. All the white passengers were received with respect and boarded. My friend had to stay at the airport for over three days because she was black and holding British passport. Many Africans hate Kenya Airways because even the crew treats Black passengers differently from the white passengers. The corruption in Kenya is an embarrassment to the country, and all these sometimes the officials wants a bribe. It stinks.

The amazing way Nigerians become successful through hard work in many African countries scares many people who can't believe how Nigerians are able to work such long hours, develop great ideas and come up with highly successful businesses when their own nationals have failed...a lot of it is envy... There is also the fact that Nigerian men are highly desired by women in many African countries because of how romantic, caring, and loving they are and their being ready to spend on the women.....so their men feel intimidated and become hateful.... this is a proven theory in many countries... There is that well known saying worldwide that...If you travel to any city or place worldwide and you don't see a Nigerian there, run for your life and leave the place because that means you can never be successful there since Nigerians have already deserted such a place... If you want to be successful, only go where you see Nigerians....lolll

Sorry you weren't feeling well, Nappie. But you seem to be recovering.
I hate teeth extractions. It's just weird, an empty space. It takes 2 weeks to feel semi-normal but then a big empty space is left where a tooth used to be. And the procedure after a lot of novocaine still hurts a little.
The thing is, whoever you are, Nigerian, Ghanian, you should be treated with respect and I'm reading nightmare stories of West Africans dealing with custom agents and airport authorities in East Africa. Tayo Aina went through some crazy stuff in Ethiopia, I think maybe one year or so ago. Maybe a bit longer. but it was really horrible and degrading what they put him through. After that he enjoyed the country but what a horrible welcome. I think there should be more organization to figure out who are the bad people and not just blanket treat all Nigerians with suspicion. But crazy things happen in the USA too at airports.

Guy, you lot are mightly annoying! Why do you have to drag Nigeria into your trouble in Kenya? Why? And you keep on saying Nigerians are good people; no, we don't need you to say that for us, right? We are who/what we are; if anyone wants to know whether we are good people, let them find out for themselves. This act is childish! If the Kenyan immigration officials poorly treated you, address that and STOP! Please stop mentioning Nigeria in the story of your ordeal in Kenya. All over the world, immigration officials sometimes do that to all people. And for different reasons. Was Nigeria written on your face when they saw you and decided to pull you aside? They just thought that you "fit the description" and decided to take you aside. Simple. Are there no Ghanaians who are into drugs and have been arrested and jailed for drug offences just like Nigerians are? Or just because you are Ghanaian, you could not possibly be a drug courier?
Those men saw you; they saw your passport, the same with your Ghanian counterpart. But, of course, they could read, and they saw GHANA written on your passports booklets and still went on to what they did to you. But you are here telling the whole world it happened because they thought you were Nigerians Bla bla bla. STOP BEING CHILDISH!!
Nowadays, everybody loves to bash Nigerians; even those Nigerians are better than them, it has become a sport.
What if I tell you that Ghanaians first sullied the image of the Nigerian passport. Many of you will not want to hear it; it is your best-kept secret. In the 1970s and 80s, when the Ghana economy was in tatters, millions of Ghanaians moved to Nigeria; what ordinary Nigerians did not realise was that the main target of those Ghanaians was to move to Europe via Nigeria. They obtained Nigerian passports illegally with the help, of course, of corrupt Nigerian passport officials. At the time, the Nigerian economy was booming. The Nigerian currency, the Naira, was bigger than the US dollar in the exchange rate. Nigeria was visa-free to many countries in Western Europe and Britain, and getting an American visa was not a problem.
Thousands of Ghanaians ended up in Italy, Holand, Germany, Switzerland etc., with Nigerian passports. Now here is where the story gets tastier. Although the Nigerian passport was visa-free, it did not have a work permit. What did Ghanaians do to survive when they went to those countries with Nigerian passports? Illegal activities, including drug peddling and prostitution that is what! (a lot of people do not know that it was Ghanaians and not Nigerian that started prostitution in Italy)
And when the police in those countries caught them in the act, guess whose passport turned up? Nigeria! But the individuals holding it were not Nigerians. They were Ghanaians. And years later, when the Nigerian economy collapsed, Nigerians began to leave their country, following the path chatted by Ghanaians two decades earlier.
Today, you have a large second/third generation Ghanaian communities in Germany, Holland etc., that was how their parents got there. If you doubt this story, ask your older generation, Ghanaian immigrant parents, to confirm it if they want to be honest. Stop these childish anecdotes. It isn't very pleasant.
