The title was born as the main title of "NEVER" events that were like for young and outside talents, almost like a sorta of development title. But with the end of those events the focus of the NEVER openweight championship moved on brawlers and strong style wrestler, essentially people that kick the shit out of each other. Ishii, Makabe, Honma, Shibata, Goto, Suzuki, Shingo are a perfect example of that. Nowadays that concept turned down a little I suppose.
