[Edit: This video is probably going to get unlisted fairly soon, because it's not worth watching and I've gotten a lot better at making videos since I've made this. I just wanted to say: "hey, a new Getter Robo anime. it's finally happening, after all these years."] So since Getter Devolution actually ended not too long after I uploaded this review I can now say with certainty that I do not particularly recommend it. In fact I recommend against reading it. Also turns out I had it backwards, Tomohiro Shimaguchi is the shorter guy and Eiichi Shimizu is the larger fella.
It captures part of the spirit of the older Getter Robos but not all of it but then again this is a Story about Getter Emperor and suposed to be Getter Robo's equvilent to Mazinger Zero as the Dark and edgy reboot that deconstructs the series granted Zero did it better but it's Devoultion is still decent besides I want it to get suport so it will get animated or something new getter robo wise.
I get what you're saying. I would kill for some new Getter material. But I really don't think Getter Devolution is it. I'd argue it isn't a darker or more realistic take on Getter Robo but rather just Eiichi Shimizu and Tomohiro Shimaguchi's take on Getter Robo. And I really don't appreciate how Getter Devolution strays from the established themes and feel of the Getter Robo series. I honestly have more faith (atm) in Getter Robo High because the art at least has a similar feel to the feel of the Getter series (even if the robots look shite and last I checked there isn't a translation). I'm hoping that maybe we could get a movie or a couple OVA's of the original Getter Robo manga for one of the anniversaries or something. Or maybe something like the Mazinkaiser SKL anime. Or honestly anything at this point.
@@ZEROGOkinReviews eh we all have our difrent tastes, personaly I'd like to see the series get the Jojo treatment aka after years of OVAs only based on the material do a full adaptation of the original Manga that or something inspired by Devoultion much like how Armageddon was an alternate take on things but drew slight insperation from Shin Getter Robo. Reason I'm ok with the drastic tonal change is it's a story about the eldrich force that is getter emperor I'd expect a dark story when dealing with that but you could easily alter Devoultion to be more like the other animes in a adaptation that ignores the manga like every single one ever. Granted what I want even more is a Mazinger Zero series done by the same guy who did Devilman Crybaby.

I mean the getter rays had elements of cosmic horror for quite a while now. But the way that the series dealt with it was to just go with the flow. Whereas to fight against it is more of a Gurren Lagann thing. In Getter Devolution they even pulled a Super Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann in the least earned way possible. But I'll stop there because I'm going off topic. I mean sure if they wanted to adapt Getter Devolution they could change it significantly in the adaptation. But with how anime is made these days I wouldn't really count on it, the mecha genre is rather weak these days unfortunately. Also if Dynamic Pro wanted to do that where's that Grendizer Giga anime they put a trailer up for a while back and never released? I think they probably pulled that anime because the manga wasn't well received. Also also, I can't see the Getters from Getter Devolution being put in an anime and not in CG (not that Mazinger Infinity didn't look amazing). Although I would be all down for a actually well done adaptation that isn't manga accurate of Getter Devolution just I really don't see it happening. And a Mazinger ZERO anime by Misaaki Yuasa might be interesting. However I'm not too sure how the animation style they have going (see Ping Pong the animation and Tatami Galaxy (both great animes)) would work with it. I feel like a more conventional studio like Madhouse (check Redline) or Bones would be a better option.
I do think that Sally is right about that. Jobby is definitely way better than I am at this, but I don't think it's fair to compare me especially not my second review ever to someone who's been making figure reviews for around 6 years and has made over 200 reviews in that time.
With those edits and memes and shits, you deserves more subs, sir! The only thing that you need to improve is the lightning, IMO. Besides that, everything goes really well. Hope to see more videos from you.

Thanks, that actually helped quite a bit. I think I know what I need to do to make my setup better. I think the problem was I just had lights all over the place. I'm going to now try to just have 2 soft boxes one on the left and and the other on the right. Should look better and also give me more room, at least that's what I'm hoping.
Honestly I'd like to see anything from the Mazinger Zero manga made by sentinel since I'm a massive fan of the designs. If they announced a Riobot Mazinger Zero I'd be shedding tears of happiness alongside my wallet which would just be shedding regular tears. But I'll take what I can get, and I'm incredibly hyped for the Govarian they recently announced cuz so far that thing looks incredible.

Well I found a new youtuber to watch, it's obvious you're taking atleast a little inspiration from jobby but lately I feel like he doesnt have enough variety in his content (which is the formal way of saying he's a dumb dumb for liking franxx and Eva, also Steven universe) Buut I do have some gripes with how the video is structured, moreso with the pacing One of the things I like about jobby is how snappy he is, often recording the parts with him playing with the figure first and recording his thoughts with a script later, but here you took the choice of recording alot of the video live with some minor editing after, which I can see the appeal of since many toy reviewers do it (i.e. optibotimus) but can make some feel bored and skip through the video, but that could just be my impatience setting in But if editing isn't your strong suit I can understand that, you'll get better over time Also clip your nails Edit: I saw your knight gundam review and realised that most of what I said here is pretty irrelevant, so this is just awkward now
Yeah I was going to say this is literally the second review I've made and I think it's terrible so I can completely understand why you would talk_shit about this one. Personally I think the beginning of this one is pretty alright but the rest of it is just bad. Also I want to say that most people will just talk_shit about a video I've made a long time ago and complain about things I've long since changed or fixed in more recent videos so I genuinely do really appreciate that you've looked at those and realised that I did address these things.
