I was nervous about this one, because I'm always rooting for Chris. I'm also not surprised that it's an imperfect debut. Not every first effort can be ERASERHEAD or GET OUT (though it's probably worth mentioning that Jordan Peele has publicly endorsed Chris' work).
I do find it a bit frustrating that the movie's problem sounds like it might be pacing as this is something that can always be tightened up during editing, which means it doesn't require reshoots or more FX or anything like that.
Regardless, I'm happy to hear that the pacing drags in the second act, because it's the first act and the final act that truly matter, and endings are hard anyway. I'll definitely pay to see in a theater and look forward to whatever Chris does next

As a fan of Stuckmann's content i wasnt expecting an impressive debut with a genre film, and i didn't let the anticipation raise my expectations cuz very very few directorial debuts become critically acclaimed, I think what's more important is evaluating his potential. Can he express creativity, style & understanding how to make a film on a technical level, if so then that means he can get better. Things like this just take a lot of trial & error, if i was in his shoes & the overrall reviews of my movie was just "okay" i'd considered that a success for a first feature film lol

@ChadAV69 because it's his first movie and he knows his shit. And many artists/productions start off mediocre. Tv shows (friends, Seinfeld, it's always sunny, many star trek's, South Park, for example). Peele hit a home run, but he had already been making stuff for years before that. Alot of Marvel movies have been mediocre since the very beginning. Batman has been mediocre through much of his history. But all of those things are well regarded now.
But Chris Stuckmann is passionate, dedicated, and knowledgeable. Thus, promising.
