And speaking of old friends, you can now see clearly in Mario's House a photo of his partners from the first game.

I’ve waited so long for this. This is my top 3 games and also my childhood. People need to realize everything isn’t always about you, sometimes something that is lame to you is something special to someone else. Best direct since sora getting added to smash!

I forgot about Rawk Hawk until someone mentions him by name but I never forgot how funny he was as a character and I always wished he was a partner as well.
The MILLISECOND I saw the storybook and the intro music started up, it was all over for me. 😭 Anyways, I thought this was a good Direct! While the one last June was slightly stronger IMO, this was good. This and Princes Peach Showtime are tied for my biggest highlights this morning. And I’m already stacked this late year, what with so many wishlisted games that I’ve gotta wait on until I secure my buys for Mario Wonder, RPG Remake, and P5 Tactica (November 17 is gonna be BRUTAL when I have to multitask with both those last games in a single day). 2024 is going to be ludicrous, too! It's hard not to cry, since I've been waiting for this EXACT remake of Paper Mario TTYD (how it looks and stuff) to finally play TTYD (since I was 11-12 years old!). I've been hoping to see it since I've started watching Nintendo Directs (which is around 3 years now).

Yeah I wished I played it (the disk went missing) but I was playing Wind Waker at the time. My bro was playing this and when I was watching him play, it was entertaining.
@@matthewjones6786Of the "new Paper Mario" games, I'd say Color Splash is actually the best. It's the only one I actually finished if that says anything, lol. It's similar in structure to Sticker Star but it fixes a lot of its problems.

I'm so jealous of those who will get to experience this masterpiece for the first time. This was a formative game for me and many other kids in the early 2000s. I do not use the term "masterpiece" lightly. This game is one of the best Nintendo has ever made, period.
It might be within 6 months. Remember, Nintendo said that much of the games that are showcased in the Direct would have Winter release date, which is up to March of 2024. FREAKING HYPED, Paper Mario TTYD is rightfully one of best Mario RPGs of all time, if not the best. Seems that the game is a full-on remaster given that some polygonal models look like they're right out of GameCube original with some beautiful lightings and textures rework. They must have used Origami King's engine given that the game does have great graphic and art directions.
The millisecond of the jingle and the storybook I went berserk all the over my damn room like OMG OMG O...M...G! Paper Mario fans are EATING right now! This was peak Direct for me at least. I get to relive my teen years playing the game on a modern console now. And I'm happy with this one!
Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle (Aug 29, 2017) and Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions (Oct 6, 2017). Paper Mario: Thousand Year Door (Oct 2004) was a year after M&L: Superstar Saga (Nov 2003) and a year before M&L: Partners in Time (Nov 2005), which were pretty close. I hope they remake (or just do a new) Mario & Luigi game. I hope that the Thousand Year Door remake does so well that the next Paper Mario game is in this style.

Very surreal that 2 beloved Mario RPGs are getting beautiful and faithful remakes at the same time. Are we finally exiting the dark age of Mario RPGs, with the Mario and Luigi series being dead and Paper Mario being some weird paper gimmick franchise? God, I hope so! This gives me so much hope Paper Mario will return to its roots. This legendary game is going to get the attention it deserves to millions of new people.
The fact they put so much effort to into remaking the 2 most RPGish Mario RPG games at the same makes me very optimistic they will. No way they're just going to remake this game then give us nothing but more bizarre paper gimmick games.

I think Nintendo releasing both amazimg Mario RPGs around this time is great because the Mario movie was also a success so Nintendo is riding that wave . I hope both sell well.
