    Lived in CA for whole life (55 yrs) and have lived in DFW for past 3 years. We miss family in CA, so are looking to relocate to AZ. Things about TX we don't like...the tornados, hail storms (damaged my vehicle 4 times already), 98% of land is privately owned in TX, so hardly any places to go hiking, biking, etc, not many good/pretty lakes, pretty flat and overall topography relatively boring. AZ has the heat for about 3-4 months and then great after that. AZ is waaay prettier (Sedona, Flagstaff, Grand Canyon, the desert is pretty as well, Prescott or Payson, nice lakes). AZ is closer to CA if you have family to visit. We've visited AZ a bunch of times and just feel overall, AZ is just cleaner, nicer, and less freeway traffic.

      I haven’t spent much time in AZ. I liked the outdoors and landscape.
      However from the short visits I’d choose Texas ❤️

    Housing expensive in Arizona? No!! Property tax is very low in arizona. So Monthly payment almost same and that’s a con that you have to pay quadruple tax even you paid of your house.

Amarillo is about 12 hours away from the beach. Arizona has many mountains, the Grand Canyon, Sedona, Antelope Canyon, Lake Powell, and ONLY 4 hours to Las Vegas. BUT YES PLEASE MOVE TO TEXAS

      Keep in kind, we can be just about anywhere in the country in about 3 hours. Flights can be cheap if planned ahead of time. AZ is great and the mountains are breathtaking. However, IMO Texas has much more to offer overall. FL and Texas rank 1 and 2 for relocation.

      Arizona has much more to offer outdoors activity. Our winters are way better than in Texas. I don't see what Texas has the offer in the outdoors. Flatland ,flat lakes nothing to see. Texas is a very ugly state. Arizona has more technology. Arizona is the number one chip maker in the world. Intel has invested over $50 billion here over the years. We have three electric car manufacturers in Arizona. You went to one of the worst places for Mexican food. We have a ton more golf courses. Phoenix is the fifth largest city in the country. I am glad people are moving to Texas and not here. We don't want California politics. We don't want the overcrowding that is already happened in Sedona and all the hiking areas we have. I never hear of anyone posting anything about hiking in Texas. More athletes live here because they can train year-round. Spring training is here because we have better weather not Texas. We have no natural disasters. No earthquakes ,no hurricanes,most tornadoes. Arizona's only had for three months in the summer. I will take that over the humidity and Mosquitoes you have Texas. Like I said I hope everyone moves out that way and away from our beautiful land

    I do agree with you overall assessment since I have lived in both states. I do not agree that Texas is cheaper to live in and I think you would have to compare city to city and not state to state. Especially when you look at property tax which is crazy in Texas. The weather is too hot in both states during the summer but I would give the edge to Arizona because we have very limited natural disasters while in Texas you can have anything from tornadoes to hurricanes. I do agree with another persons comment if you go out to Sedona or Flagstaff it looks nothing like Phoenix and Tucson from a landscape and within just a couple of hours from Phoenix you can go skiing in the winter and in about 5 hours you can be in San Diego at the beach. I spend significant time in Houston and Austin as well as lived in Dallas for a while and I would prefer Phoenix over Houston for sure but I would prefer Austin over Phoenix except that Austin has become cost wise absolutely impossible. I think Dallas and Phoenix are about the same for me.

    • @MoonShine-o5n
      @MoonShine-o5n Месяц назад

      Same in my experience. Texas is good if you're married with kids, you want to live in the suburbs of Dallas, you don't care about the outdoors, or real hiking. The weather in Dallas is just as bad in the summer, you've to deal with tornadoes in Spring and Fall, gun violence is worse, but the school and college system are better.
      Dallas has American and Southwest but so does Phoenix. Phoenix area highways are way better and don't have tolls. Phoenix has really good roads too and Dallas roads are some of the worst I've ever seen in the country.. perhaps even the world lol. It's really bad. Texas has such a huge surplus.. they should do something to help out their big cities.
      Also, Arizona is more libertarian and cares about personal freedom. It's not very religious and is a secular state. You can actually vote for popular things like abortion, legal Marijuana, etc. Because of direct democracy. It's a great state.

    I liked that you flew here to see for yourself, but I would say you didn't see enough. I agree with Dallas having more housing variety and greenery. However, you keep saying Arizona when you were basically just in Scottsdale. There's a lot more to the state. The climate and landscape changes dramatically when you go north into th e m ountain cities like Sedona, Prescott, and Flagstaff. Homes do cost more in Phoenix, but you neglected to mention the high property taxes in Texas. I agree with you about Dallas having a better skyline (Houston isn't bad either!) and Texas having better funded schools than Arizona. The Texas economy is more diverse and stronger than Arizona's, hence, why the state has more Fortune 500 companies. Arizona wins in year-round outdoor activities and scenic beauty. Sorry my dude. Having lived in both places and CA (live in TX now), CA first, AZ second, TX last for good Mexican food. Not saying TX has bad Mexican food but it's not the best. If your napkins are cloth you're in the wrong place! Scottsdale? Come on, man! You're doing it wrong! 😁

      LOL. I should have known better to think I'd find good Mexican food in Scottsdale.
