Frank's writing is awesome
The ending of the first tune is a direct quote from Quincy Jones' "Straight no Chaser" off The Quintessence
Hey Docsax, I liked your solo on the first song so much that I learned it on guitar
Some stuff here. That's me on 2nd tenor, Danny Turner on Lead Alto, he has passed on , I was on the tour feeling in for him when he passed. We also have lost Manny Boyd on 2nd alto, and Mel Wanzo who was playing Lead Trombone.
WONDERFUL!! Thanks so much!!
Amazing trombone sound & technic!
awesome!
AWESOME!!!!
Just found out that he is spelled Robert Trowers.
Great music, great players all spoiled by un-tuned or mis-tuned drums Also so apparrent on other uploads of this session.
DAT BARI!
What is this song at the very end?
Have to agree, the complete session spoiled by Dave Gibsons poorly tuned snare drum. Sounds more like a steel drum. Ah me... Where's the most supreme Mr Basie?
@josh0240 That's quite a compliment, thank you!
Respect, docsax
