I will be visiting Myanmar for a few weeks in early 2016 and I really enjoyed this video. I've been to South East Asia a few times already but not Myanmar. All the people you see on bicycles in the video would be riding motor bikes in other SE Asian countries.
+Darrell Chaddock well, it is already 4 years since I have been to this area of Myanmar and the country is developing. So, you will see more motorbikes now
Thanks for your reply. Can you recommend some less travelled part of the country? Since you visited Sittwe I am sure you got to some remote parts of Myanmar.
+Darrell Chaddock Sittwe and Mrauk U is still not too much visited an an interesting area if you are into the ancient tmeples, you will find a lot in Mrauk U (and very different to those in Bagan). This year, I was to the South (Dawei and Myeik) which was one of my best Myanmar trips altough there is nothing really spectacular, but still quite authentic life and beautiful scenery
Thank you very much, i just found it by searching for the voice everywhere on youtube. The voice and rhythm is so unique and unforgettable once heard. Thank you for the introduction, it's such a pity to hear that he's died. You great video made this the first day for me to know this hidden country. I think I'll travel there someday.
This little video got it almost right. The poverty in Sittwe Mrauk U and the entire Rakhine state is heart wrenching. Many Burmese live in appalling conditions.Infrastructure is hardly existing.Social services such as health care are at a minimum.Fifty years of military dictatorship have impoverished the area even more.If you're there do not mention the Rohingya. You might get in trouble.
I am a Rohingya. I miss my homeland 😪😪😪😪
thank u very much.burma is my birth country.once upon a time it was known as AsiaRice bowl.
Powerful reminder of the thousands of people who are not in the industrial world and live happily in the agricultural land.
Thank you.

What is the name of the background music? Such a wonderful song...
This is a Burmese (Myanmar) singer who died in2004. His name is "Htoo Eain Thin" and the name of this song is "Eain Pyan Chain Myarr"
