Today we visit an abandoned mine with a very interesting past. But, to get inside we are first confronted with a ladder down a 150m sheer drop.

When I was young there was an abandoned water tower next to the woods where I live. It was about 250 ft tall on 4 legs made of steel. There were 2 ladders to the top. One went up one of the legs. The other went up a ladder in the pipe directly under the center of the tank. I climbed up both ways. I must say the ladder in the pipe was very similar to the one going into that mine. About 20 feet from either entrance to the pipe the climbing was in total darkness. The outside ladder didn't have a safety enclosure either. Climbing this as a teenager, you gained respect of your peers. Looking back I realized how stupid doing that was and I'm glad I didn't die doing it.
we all did very stupid things when we were young and most of us lived to tell about it.
I am legitimately impressed by the ingenuity of those people. Absolutely awesome job exploring that. If they could just have found a way to bury their electrical cables they could have kept going for years.
a generator would have been a better option then. Like in any other underground bunker.
@@usmcn Don't those usually require really good ventilation and bringing in fuel?
@@mycroft16 just a pipe and yes fuel, but gravity is nice on a liquid
@@mycroft16 valid point 😂😂
To expensive to buy, maintain and run. To noisey and you generally do not want to draw attention or operate outside of the surrounding environment parameters.
That place was unbelievable so many rooms that they set up just to keep that operation going. This was a great video guys! Looking forward to the next one. Take care.
The paddling pool is for mixing nutrients into the water and adjusting the pH.
That ladder is hard work on the way out but probably the coolest part of the whole explore.
Cool, but horrible
@@upthehoeCheer up ladie
I should say that ladder is actually 120ft and I went there pretty recently but still, it's fucking killer to climb out from especially if you have a big backpack on lol
Al’s dad joke was spot on. He’s such a fungi 🍄
And “the pot thickens” 3:10
@@Pwills smokin ✊🏼🥸👍🏼
Personally I thought the jokes were abit shittake 🍄
07:00 love the four lions reference.
Yeah I thought that too 😂
Just scrolling to see if anyone else noticed 😂 your comment is the first I've seen about it, used to love that film and some of it were filmed where I grew up in Sheffield, it shows meadowhall shopping centre at the start as it's coming on then when ones sat in the takeaway near the end then where he blows himself up in the shop at the end
The pools were likely for water storage. They could mix everything and pump out from there.
Whenever I feel sad I always come back to your videos ✨
Yeah these guys never fail to improve my mood :)
Very cool. This place reminds me a lot of the underground storage in wampum, PA in the United States where they filmed George Romero's Day of the Dead. So Al's zombie impression was very appropriate for this location😅
Had to be worth the climb down just for Al's Fungi joke 😅
Dudes, seriously, you can buy new body harnesses for the low low with double lanyard hooks. Lives ain't cheap but safety gear is
True! That ladder really is mysterious. I found a mysterious ladder on a beach once, but the most interesting case about ladders was reported in 1969 when deranged ladder was caught escorting an frightened extending ladder across Wimbledon common at 11.45pm on a Tuesday evening. It was taken into custody and found lent up against a prison cell the next day. No one was ever charged.
Ladders live mysterious lifes 😋
Always sad when police diminish the pot supply 😣We need more weed and less war.
@@TrickOrRetreat more weed and less pigs!

Old Greg definitely lives down there "hey look at my washing line of rubber glove, do you like them? do you love them? What about my bucket of straws? I have one for every day I have licked the wall on a sunny day
You ever drank bailey's from a shoe or go to a club where people wee wee on one another!😂🤣👍
Hell of a Climb Boys . I was worried for you . I knew the Climb out would be a Challenge . Cool Explore though . Thanks for the Tour . Stay Safe !
Great video. Amazing place to explore. Imagine lost in there, no light 😱
It's game over at that point. I'd be bringing like 5 torches with me 😅
"Just hold on for dear life." - Well thanks, never thought of that 🤣
Dude I can't believe the soccer ball you kicked at the start is the same ball Moe Sargi kicked only weeks earlier ... super cool 👍👍👍
Me and my brother kicked that same ball just a few weeks ago too... It has to be done lol
Have been here quite a few times before and after the massive grow lol. You used to be able to get in from the blue doors at the front didn't have to use the massive ladder
careful guys, you should bring air quality detectors
Not down that mine... If you ever feel a strong breeze in a mine then you're probably all good as bad air happens from still air trapped in a mine and I can tell you that this, and many other mines in this area, are safe to explore when it comes to air quality.
Going down there without testing atmosphere is siucide.
Yup
Hydrogen sulfide is the worst and quite pungent. Pretty obvious when present
That ladder !! I can feel my legs cramping up already !!😮 that setup must have cost a fortune... Cool video guys 👌👍👍
Compared to the money made from the grow its literally peanuts!😁✌️
still does
"I'm a space man" 🤣 🤣 🤣
amazing, was there an actual mine entrance anywhere? does look like a bunker complex, floors are smooth concrete, how they did all this is amazing
It was used by the military for storage, there is a front entrance in the high street that leads in.
It was mostly just used as a mine and while there was a small period where it stored ammunition, it wasn't converted to a bunker and so walking through it it just looks and feels like a disused quarry.
What a waste of:
1 - Police time
2 - Potential tax revenue
3 - The undeniable organisational skills of the people running that op.
Madness.
You chaps brighten up my day❤👍👍
Really cool explore guys! Much love from Wisconsin ❤
The pools were maybe a permanent reservoir of water for the plants.
Been there a few times, ladder is a killer on the way back up after hours of wandering around 😂😂
9:12 if they were using that collected water as feed water they'd produce some reet good plants because of all the minerals leaching out of the rocks would be super beneficial to plants. and as for largest grow its a deffo no no, there was one raided about 5 years ago in a nuclear bunker protected by a blast door designed to withstand a nuclear explosion that was built for the cold war era in the 1980s. so the rozzers couldn't bust on their own terms so they had to hide and then jumped 2 of the workers to get their access key cards off of them. i think 3000-4000 plants maybe higher, it was super impressive to go through all the pictures the police took, one area the rows of plants went on for so long that the flash from the camera couldn't illuminate all of them. they'll be out on license now, no doubt looking at bunkergrow 2.0 possible locations, lol
I would imagine the cage on the outside would make it easier to manage the acrophobia since you could Maybe grab onto something and stop the fall. Very terrifying!
What I find amazing is that they discovered a girl living alone down there and they think nothing of it. No curiosity at all.
And of all these comments you're the only one who's mentioned it!
@@SunriseLAWDo you have contact details for the local FBI in UK for him 🤣🤣
@@SunriseLAW you should stay out of law that was the most idiotic reply I've ever read 😂
Ace creepy a f
Lol! That girl was fake. They were joking. That was their voice. Get a clue!!!
Well done for braving them ladders boys, great find.
You should all go back down there in full Ghost Busters kit 😂 😂😂 thanks for another awesome episode guys 🤗🫣😁
Av you got one we can lend?
Wish I had guys lol 😂
Awesome, Thank you for the spaceman helmet laugh. The dead man walking like a demon laugh and the zombie climbing thin steps laugh and all the funny bits. I really laughed. Cheers.
While watching this I was constantly thinking "Jesus lads, just be careful where you're putting your feet. With that ladder being your way back out, a twisted ankle is going to cause you big problems"......... then again, I'm now at an age where I often inflict days of agonising back and leg pain upon myself by participating in the highly physical activity of "Sleeping funny", so I'm probably a bit paranoid about how easy it is to inadvertently put yourself out of action.
My legs wobbled watching you guys down that ladder 😂.
Good watching your vids guys👍
Thanks Mr Smith!
Wow, you guys really went through it for us on this one. I feel ya Norton 😲
Fantastic Adventure !! You all take care and safe travels
ooh youm's been poking about under the hills outside Bath :) well done!
Very interesting. Love the scenery! Thank you for sharing 👍👍👍
It's deep...thats what Al said 😂😂😂 I defo couldn't do the ladder either, my arthritis would kick in. Hilarious video guys 👏👏
Not before mine along with leg cramps!😂✌️
My favourite bit was when Al started rattling from the diminishing levels of skag in his system
Standin in the middle of hundreds of plant pots... "do you know the history of this?" ...🤣😂🤣
Wot? No bones in the wall? Letting the side down lads.
That girl would have freaked me absolutely out!!
A bizarre place to be on her own
friggin hell !! those plastic pots cost a shitload at the grow shop apparently
My brother had a wardrobe with 1 plant, and I know this because he kept asking me to 'borrow him' a handful of chicken shit I used in my garden. It was one of those wardrobes that are bigger than the room you put it in, a bit like a tardis I suppose.
Norton looks like sassy with that orange hat 😂
The pool was the return tank for the hydroponic watering system.
That's not all for mining equipment, that is a little swimming pool to hold water and the big black plastic tubes were for air along with the metal filter which is for air filtration. That was all for the weed growing there.
"This is stupid man, this is stupid" xD
I saw a clip on gogglebox the other day about a film called the fall, the clip was enough for me to worry about you lads on that metal ladder, glad you all got out OK
I purchased some small fans on Amazon because my bedroom is roasting in summer, suggestions of what people also purchased these fans with was a growing tent, planters, soil, bright lights and plastic air ducts, fricking Amazon eh.
There's so mush room Haha. What a terrible mess left down there.
They need to do more investigating about that girl they just kept behind, and why she is down there in pitch black alone and help her.
That Four Lions joke was good 🤣
Holy hell those grow tents are absolutely massive. Try buying one that big today and it'll probably cost $5k-$10k.
I lol'd
1:04 yeah sod that, hats off to you all. Amazing work
Great film, but would have liked to have seen footage of half way down the ladder and how it must have felt being so enclosed
It's very wet and cramped... There's like four layers and the further down you go the wetter it gets so I dont blame them for not recording on that ladder as I know it's a bastard to climb lol
That place is cool.
Um, what about the girl? Did you talk to her? She is the one with some balls, being down there by herself. Bad things could happen to her. Hope she stays safe.
That place would grow some decent herb! No mites or bugs at all to compromise the crop...you would just need some good dehumidifiers
Good morning from sunny South Wales!
Good morgan!
The whole country's sunny at the moment!😂👍
See I couldn't walk past a red door and not write on it " paint it black "
3.26 Big carbon air filter on top of the water bottles ,they remove the smell of the grow
great find... great content as always bud.
Poor Mark and his vertigo
Thanks Jason
There was another £1000000 weed farm busted in Dewsbury earlier this week. Just down road from me 😂😂😂😂😂
My house
This is some top quality banter lol
Cant get enough of theses videos lads
Amazing explore guys!!!
Ben told me about this site, it helped fund the project.
While reading the comments I found my post below yours some 36 places down the comments column. Your comment 3 weeks ago mine 0 sec. ago. Go figure
aha heavy that decent little operation that.
Depending on the age of the mine, that black stuff on the roof could have been carbine soot. From miner's lamps.
I saw another video on the mine and there were 2 number plates, both of which were from 80s New Hollands so could potentially be soot from them
Yes it was clever of them to re use the mine for a grow, and re-use the existing mine ventilation stuff. But they got caught, so they weren't really that clever were they?
There's no way the people profiting from that got caught, just the poor idiots they probably people-trafficked in to take the rap.
There could be uncontacted teletubbies down there
Where have the Teletubbies gone?
@@upthehoe got covid!
@@upthehoe They've learned to be wary of humans, and for good reason. But just imagine what they could teach us.
Nu Nu sucked them up his hose while he was cleaning the place up!😂🤭✌️
@@mattus1gig more like Grow-vid!😂👍
Sigh, obviously there is another much larger entrance somewhere as much of the stuff down there has far larger dimensions than the man hole there are 4 foot by 8 foot sections of plywood and drywall.
"Any idea what they are?" Numbers, Norton, they're numbers
Just found your channel I liked and subscribed ❤
"you can give us head" , LOL
With everyone struggling and getting poor... That could be living quarters for a whole town.. An underground neighborhood..
So the house and garden ( old mine entrance ) must have been part of the operation … so impressed , one hell of thing to achieve . Not a happy end though hey .
Great Vid 👍🏻
"That's the earth's vagina". Rich! 😂
" Oh no get the spirit box out" 😂😂😂😂😂
2:57 distilled woe😆😆😆😆😆BO'O'WO'A' (bottle of water meme)
Just wow. Al is adorable🥰
Jeez, it’s like the infinity videos. Nice one lads.
I'm actually surprised that no one lives down there.
I've done this place, it's a nice explore :)
"That's my zombie impression." Day of the Dead reference, check. Perfect place for it, too.
Just started watching: At 4:30 - How did they get those pallets in there? They must have a different entrance. // Later on... Ok Yes. There is a different entrance.
- I hope that someone brought a geiger counter with them. It's always good to check in those kinds of places.
There gym is the craziest part... Those dudes that were down there were savages .... They lived like wolves... Salute from Dallas TX
my claustrophobia was off the chart watching that - I was waiting for them to get lost down there.
I've got a 3x3x2m tent grow going on, had it for about 5 years.
So seeing this is like a 'wet dream' 👍🤣🎉😹💸
I would be terrified climbing down into a dead space and suffocating.
that place had to be in operation for decades.
Blue bags hanging look like moisture absorbent
ONE OF THE COOLEST VIDEOS ON RUclips AND SO GREAT THAT THE AUDIO IS CLEAR AND THE ACCENTS OF OUR BOTHERS OVER IN THE LONDON ENGLAND BRITISK UK AS WELL ARE AWESOME. IT WAS VERY ENTERTIANING AND SO COOL THAT THE BOYS FROM THE UK ARE JUST AS WILD AND CRAZY AS THE USAS AMERICANS CHECKING THINGS OUT THAT ARE SKETCHY. AGIAN THE COMMENTARY IS EPIC. DO ENJOY.
That was some climb in and out. Always a laugh, Al's joke about the earth having a vagina made me roll up.😂
Good job you guys had an expert about grows with you 🙂
So when you camping down there ? 😂
Al's no gardening expert he just likes to taste the merchandise!😂😁✌️
You do not go down something like that with out safety lines, Zipper Y, helmet, gas mask and gas monitor alarm. Safety support and rescue team at the ready. Hydrogen Sulphide is deadly and leaves long term nerve damage and disability. There is also carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, methane build up and consequent explosion risk.
Hydrogen sulfide is quite pungent. Blatantly obvious. The smell makes one want to flee. Well familiar with it
