  • wood turning tips, tricks, and techniques are discussed as they come up throughout my turning of this natural edge bodark aka osage orange big hard crotch. Osage orange is one of my favorite hardwoods to put on the wood lathe but as the name, big hard crotch implies it can be a very rock hard and stubborn hardwood to work with especially when its fully dry. I hope that you are able to share a laugh or two during this woodturning project and if you are a new to woodturning you can see some woodturning techniques or tips & tricks that may help you. But of course I do not always take every safety precaution so only do what you feel comfortable with on your wood lathe. thanks for watching and please take a minute to look at my channel and see some of my other woodturning and resin turning videos I have made.

Who am I? I am a husband and father. I've spent my life supporting my family with my bare hands as a proud tradesman. I have worked as an electrician most of my life in plants or the oilfield. I have recently turned my hobby into a career and work full time for a custom woodworking shop while still presuing my dream to one day support my family with my own custom woodworking shop. This is me, taking my shot, from my tiny shed shop in east Texas. I'm using my two hands to build a foundation for my family. By purchasing from my store you're not just buying a unique, handcrafted item, you're supporting a craftsman. I'm chasing my dream of creating a self-supporting small business. Your support is making it possible. Thank you!

Woodturning and resin turning are incredibly fun hobbies to get into. As you can see by this video you can definitely get very creative. If it is softer than metal and dry you can most likely cast it in resin and turn it on a wood lathe. Nice bowl, Brad. It's good to see content from you again. Just be careful - if you have flame in your crotch, you probably need some talcum powder. Two suggestions. You should call that drill a me-point bit. Second, don't be so inhibited, just say what you mean (lol). Take care.
